Chapter 1

Autor: Jovey
I had lived for 20 years without ever knowing that I was the biological daughter of a wealthy family.

But what shocked me even more was why my rich biological parents had brought me back. They wanted me to marry into another wealthy family.

I wore a tight tank top soaked with sweat. I lifted a 200-pound weight plate and slammed it onto the Somervilles' marble floor, which was worth more than 100,000 dollars.

A loud crack echoed through the room. The entire living room fell silent.

My biological parents had prepared a long list of family rules to pressure me with. But now, they could only stare at my bulging biceps, pumped from the workout.

My biological mother, Amelia Sommerville, was the first to recover. She covered her nose and mouth in disgust and took a step back. "Rachel, is this how your adoptive parents raised you? You stink of sweat, you have no manners, and you don't act like a proper young woman at all!"

My biological father, Gordon Sommerville, looked grim. He didn't bother arguing with me. Instead, he slammed a marriage agreement onto the table. "Okay, let's keep this simple. Our family is facing a financial crisis and desperately need an investment from the Lamberts. Their eldest son, Andrew Lambert, is looking for a wife. Since you're back, you'll take your sister's place and marry him."

I raised an eyebrow.

On the way here, the butler had already given me the details about Andrew.

Apparently, he had severe anger issues and violent tendencies. His temper was extremely unstable. So far, he had scared away ten fiancées. Two of them were even said to be lying in the ICU.

Whoever married him would basically become his punching bag.

The fake heiress, Natalie Sommerville, was sitting in the corner of the couch and wiping away her tears. But the moment she heard this, she suddenly stopped crying.

She looked at my thick thighs. Then she looked at the veins bulging on my arm as I carried the weight plate with one hand. She immediately hid behind Gordon. "Dad, forget it. No matter how violent Mr. Andrew is, he's still just a normal man."

Her voice trembled as she continued, "If Rachel marries him, Mr. Andrew might get beaten to death. Shouldn't we at least give Mr. Andrew a chance to survive?"

My older brother, Jack Sommerville, laughed in disbelief. "Natalie, you're overthinking this."

He pointed at me and sneered. "What can a country girl like her do besides use brute strength? Andrew has top bodyguards around him. What do you think she can possibly do?"

He turned to me. "Rachel, I'm warning you. Don't think you're so tough just because you can fight. Once you marry Andrew, you'd better stop acting so vulgar. Even if Mr. Andrew tortures you, you have to endure it. Otherwise, our entire family will go down with you!"

I stared coldly at Jack. My knuckles cracked as I slowly clenched my fists.

Jack's neck shrank in fear. His face turned pale as he took several steps backward.

"Enough!" Gordon slammed his hand against the table.

Then he pulled something from behind him and threw it onto the floor.

It was an old pair of red boxing gloves.

I froze when I saw them.

Gordon looked down at me with a threatening smile. "Rachel, don't think I don't know what you're planning. Your adoptive father used to fight underground, right? He now runs some rundown boxing gym in Southville. The deed to that property just happens to be in my hands."

He stepped on the boxing gloves and ground his shoe against them.

"If you don't want your useless adoptive father to end up homeless, then you will put on a dress tonight and attend the family-arranged dinner!"

I gritted my teeth and stared at the crushed gloves.

They were the prize my adoptive father had earned when he became the underground boxing champion years ago.

"Ra... Rachel..." Natalie timidly held out a towel to me.

Her eyes were red as she pleaded, "Don't argue with Dad anymore. I'm sorry. I was too scared to marry Andrew. It's all my fault..."

I took a deep breath and forced down the urge to snap Gordon's neck.

Then I yanked the towel from Natalie's hand. "Fine."

I lifted my head and looked at Gordon coldly. "I'll go."

For my adoptive father, I could endure this.

But Gordon didn't know that the very first rule my adoptive father, Jasper Leighton, taught me was this.

Once you step into the ring, it's a fight to the death.

The Somervilles were completely panicking.Gordon and Amelia had watched Natalie and me grow stronger. They even realized that I was starting to gain control over the investment the Lamberts had given them. That was when they finally showed their true colors. The next day, the headline "Rachel Is Violent and Abusive—Torture Chamber Discovered in Lambert Residence" went viral across Southville.Amelia cried bitterly in front of a livestream camera as she showed the red marks on her arms. "Rachel grew up in the countryside, and she has a terrible temper. She doesn't just torture Mr. Andrew at the Lambert Residence. She even beats her own biological parents and brother whenever she comes home!"Jack was the one leading the attack. He wrapped himself up like a mummy and recorded a video. "I only tried to teach her some etiquette. She almost broke my ribs! I'm terrified. Please, someone help the Somervilles..."At the same time, Gordon joined forces with several families that had long wante

Just as Andrew and I were practicing low kicks in the octagon, my phone started vibrating like crazy. It was a voice message from Natalie. Her voice was full of tears, and I could hear angry shouting in the background. "Rachel, help me! The guy you beat up has brought people to the school entrance. They're trying to take me to pay off his debt... Ah!"My pupils shrank. I immediately ripped off my boxing gloves.Andrew's expression turned cold as well.He grabbed his jacket. "I'll drive."Five minutes later, Andrew's black Hummer screeched to a stop in the back alley behind Santa Maria University.I kicked open the door and jumped out.Deep inside the alley, Benjamin—the man I had knocked out on the yacht—had four muscular men covered in tattoos surrounding Natalie against a wall."Damn! Your sister humiliated me! I'm not letting you off today!"His face was twisted with anger as he reached for Natalie's hair."Let her go!" I shouted and was about to charge forward. But then something

The heavy bulletproof doors of the Lambert Residence were kicked open the very next day.A stocky old man who stood nearly six feet tall and was even more muscular than me stormed inside with his arms bare. He was carrying a massive Emerald Reaper. "That crazy guy named Andrew! Get out here right now!"I had just jumped off the treadmill when I saw Jasper's red, furious face.He must have heard all the rumors about Andrew abusing his fiancée and come here to teach him a lesson."Dad, what are you doing here?" I hurried over.Jasper grabbed me and pulled me behind him.His eyes were wide with anger. The 50-pound Emerald Reaper in his hand gleamed dangerously in the sunlight."Don't be scared. I heard that bastard tortures you in the basement every day, right? Damn! How dare he hurt my daughter! I won't let him off today!"Andrew walked out of the bathroom at that moment, casually drying his hair with a towel. When he saw Jasper holding the huge weapon, he didn't call for his bodyguards

Meanwhile, all the wealthy families in Southville were waiting for news of my death. After all, the private underground floor of the Lambert Residence was rumored to be a living hell.According to the rumors, it was filled with torture devices. Terrifying sounds of impacts and screams could be heard late every night. The women who were carried out of there were always said to be completely traumatized. On the second night after I moved in, a small figure secretly climbed over the iron gate at the back of the Lambert Residence using the trash cans.Natalie landed awkwardly on the other side. The atmosphere in the ballroom suddenly became tense and suffocating. The guests could almost hear their own pounding hearts. Everyone was waiting for Andrew to snap the neck of this crazy woman. But Andrew didn't lose his temper.Instead, he stared at my cloth-wrapped fists. Excitement slowly appeared in his eyes.It was the look of one fighter recognizing another. "You want to pick a fight with me?"Andrew gave me a cruel smile before ripping off his tie. "If you beat me, the entire Lambert family is yours!"The moment he finished speaking, his massive body exploded into motion.Without any warning or testing, he threw a powerful hook straight at my face."That's fast!" I was shocked for a moment, but my body reacted faster than my brain.Instead of backing away, I stepped forward. I ducked and slid to the side, barely avoiding his punch.
