I laid shocked on the floor for a moment before I felt Nick kick me in the ribs. Not hard enough to break them but enough to bruise them.

I looked over to see my grandmother and aunts ready to caste. I sent them a pleading look and shook my head slightly before looking away. I glanced over to see my cousins and uncles being held back by the 'helpers' and Locke. Locke looked at me in horror but didn't say anything.
