Drey’s POV

When Clarissa’s wolf broke through that night, it felt like thunder tearing through silence.

I’d been standing by the edge of the forest, watching her scream, her body writhing, bones snapping. The moon was nearly full, casting silver light on her skin as it twisted and morphed. I’d seen hundreds of first shifts in my lifetime.

But never like this.

This wasn’t a slow awakening.

This was power ripping through every cell in her body.

She shouldn’t have survived that kind of shift, not after waiting so long. Most wolves shifted on their eighteenth birthday, some a little after. But three years late? That didn’t just make her an anomaly.

It made her dangerous.

When she stood on four legs for the first time, chest heaving and eyes glowing silver, I felt it deep in my bones.

She was no ordinary wolf.

Tessy had rushed to her side, tears in her eyes, whispering Clarissa’s name over and over again. But Clarissa - no, I mean the wolf inside her just turned her head and stared at me.

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 30

DREY'S POVThe sky had begun to darken again. I stood outside the main hall, staring out toward the woods, trying to piece myself back together. The truth was, I didn’t know what the truth was anymore.Clarissa was still missing. The search teams had returned exhausted and empty-handed. And inside, Helen waited patiently, too patiently for me to make my decision. The pressure to mark her publicly grew heavier with each hour that passed. But my heart... it wasn’t in it.My thoughts had been erratic lately, twisted. Images, dreams, no, nightmares played in my mind every night. Clarissa lying. Clarissa laughing behind my back. Clarissa betraying me with another. I’d see flashes of her smile and feel rage instead of warmth. None of it made sense. It wasn’t who I was. It wasn’t who she was.And still, the dreams kept coming. The door behind me creaked, and I turned.Camelia stood in the doorway, a long cloak wrapped around her shoulders, her silver-streaked hair catching what little light

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 29

Clarissa’s POVThe walls were cold. The room they kept me in was carved from damp stone, and though no chains bound my limbs, I felt tethered in every way that mattered.Days passed. Or maybe it was weeks. I lost count after the fourth time the old bulb hanging from the ceiling flickered and died for hours. There were no windows. Just silence. And shadows.I wasn't completely alone. Sometimes, I heard footsteps outside the door. Sometimes, I felt eyes watching me, breathing in my despair. But no one spoke. Not a word. Just silence and the occasional rattle of a tray being shoved through the slot.Tiara was quiet too.My wolf, once fierce and ever present, had withdrawn deep into the crevices of my soul. I felt her heartbeat, faint but steady, like she was sleeping through a long winter. Maybe she needed strength. Maybe she was trying to protect me. Either way, I missed her.I missed Drey. His name alone was enough to reopen the ache in my chest. The way he had looked at me those last

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 28

Tessy's POV The silence in the Alpha’s office was the kind that made your skin crawl. It was heavy and suffocating. It wrapped around me like smoke, the kind that hinted at something burning far beneath the surface. I stood near the door, watching my brother, Alpha Drey, stare out the wide glass window overlooking the eastern training grounds. His shoulders were square, his arms crossed behind his back. He hadn’t spoken since I walked in.But I hadn’t come for small talk.“I know what you’re planning to do,” I said finally. He didn’t turn. “Then you know it’s necessary.”My stomach twisted. I crossed the room slowly, placing my hands on the edge of his desk. “You’re going to mark Helen publicly?”He nodded once.I tried to steady my voice. “And you think that’s the only way to get Clarissa back?”He finally turned then, his eyes darker than I remembered. They were not angry but distant, like someone else was looking out through them.“This isn’t a negotiation, Tessy. You know the ter

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 27

Helen's POV I stood by the window of the Alpha’s chamber, watching the wind ripple through the trees, my reflection faint in the glass. It wasn’t vanity that kept me there, it was certainty.Tonight was the beginning of something new. Something I had waited for, fought for. And finally, everything was falling into place.Clarissa was gone. Out of the way.And Drey? He was almost mine again. The mark would seal it. And once I had that, no illusion would be needed. No more whispers in dreams, no more silent doubts blooming inside him. He would belong to me in every sense that mattered—mind, body, and rank.I turned as the door creaked open. My hand instinctively smoothed the fabric of my dress, deep burgundy and regal against my skin. Drey stepped inside. He looked tired. Haunted. The weight of leadership had finally begun to buckle his shoulders. He hadn’t shaved in days. Shadows clung to his cheekbones. He hadn’t even noticed I’d worn his favorite color.I gave him a small smile. “Yo

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 26

DREY'S POVThe council chamber was too quiet. The kind of quiet that crept into your bones and made everything feel wrong. As Alpha, I was used to silence born out of respect but this... this was tension. Resentment. Doubt. My fingers curled into fists on the table. I could feel the weight of every stare in the room. The elders sat rigidly, their expressions tight. Warriors lined the walls, arms crossed, eyes lowered or narrowed. Even the omegas who served water barely made a sound.Clarissa was gone. And the pack was splintering.Torn.They didn’t say it out loud, not all of them. But I could feel it.They blamed Helen. And by extension, they blamed me."Alpha Drey," Elder Caelum began, his voice gruff but even. "It has been two full days since Clarissa went missing, and no formal investigation has been launched."I clenched my jaw. "That’s not true. We have trackers combing the forest. Patrols were doubled along the borders.""But none sent to Helen’s quarters," another elder said,

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 25

Clarissa’s POV The forest was unusually quiet that evening.I had just completed a routine scouting assignment along the eastern ridge of the territory. The breeze was cool and steady, rustling the canopy above as the sun dipped lower in the sky, painting everything in hues of gold and rose. Tessy had offered to come with me earlier that day, but I declined. It was a simple task, or so I thought. The silence should have warned me. No birds. No scurrying animals. Just the crunch of my boots on dried leaves and the beating of my heart in my ears.I walked the narrow path leading back to the pack house, humming a soft tune to keep the strange chill off my back. My wolf, Tiara, was quiet but alert. She had been more vigilant since our meeting with the Seer. Her warnings haunted me still. Trust your instincts. Be wary of illusions.Suddenly, the wind shifted. I stopped. My fingers brushed the hilt of the dagger strapped to my thigh. There, I perceived a scent. It was rotten and metallic.
