The cold wind whipped through the trees, tugging at my clothes as I stood by the edge of the pack’s borders. My heart pounded in my chest, a drumbeat of fear that echoed louder than the howls of wolves in the distance. The pack had ordered me to join the border patrol that morning, despite my blindness. I couldn’t make sense of it. Why would they send someone like me-a girl who couldn’t see a thing-out into the wild, where danger was lurking at every corner?

But what could I do? I was just an omega. A servant. An unwanted burden. I couldn’t afford to defy them. If I did, the punishment would be worse than anything I could imagine.

The sounds of the forest-the rustle of leaves, the snap of twigs-did nothing to reassure me. Every step I took felt like I was walking further into a nightmare, a world I couldn’t control. My instincts screamed at me to turn back, to run far from the patrol and the dangers it brought. But my packmates were already waiting for me, their eyes hard and cold as they watched me approach.

"You're late," Lucas sneered, his voice cutting through the quiet air. “We don’t have time to babysit.”

I clenched my fists, feeling the heat of anger surge through me, but I said nothing. I knew better than to show my emotions around them. It would only give them more reason to torment me. The last thing I wanted was to give them a reason to hurt me more.

They didn’t care that I was blind. To them, I was just an inconvenience, something to endure until they could send me off to do their bidding. I was a tool to be used, nothing more.

The leader of the patrol, a tall and muscular wolf named Jordan, glanced at me, his expression unreadable. He was one of the few who didn’t mock me openly. But I could sense the irritation in his eyes, the frustration at having to babysit me, the “unfit” omega. It was the same look I saw in every pack member’s gaze-those who thought I was weak, useless.

"Follow me," Jordan said gruffly, his tone leaving no room for argument.

I swallowed hard, forcing myself to take one hesitant step forward. My senses were heightened, sharper than they had ever been before, but nothing could replace sight. The world was a blur of smells, sounds, and touch, but none of it made it easier to navigate the treacherous forest.

I could feel the pack members flanking me on either side, their eyes trained on me, watching to see if I would falter. Their silence was more menacing than any words could be.

We walked for what felt like hours, the forest growing denser as we ventured deeper into the unknown. The smell of pine and damp earth filled my nose, and the cold air bit into my skin. My heart raced with every rustle of leaves, every snapping branch, convinced that danger was just around the corner. I wanted to run, to escape, but my legs carried me forward, driven by the fear of what would happen if I didn’t.

“Stay close,” Jordan ordered, his voice tense.

I nodded, though I wasn’t sure if he could hear me. My hands brushed against the rough bark of the trees as I walked, using them as a guide to keep myself steady. But even the trees couldn’t protect me from the real danger that lurked out here.

Suddenly, a low growl broke the silence, sending a chill down my spine. My body froze, every muscle locking in place. I could feel the shift in the air, the tension that had settled over us like a thick fog. My heart hammered in my chest, faster and faster, as I tried to locate the source of the sound.

I could hear the rustling of bushes, the soft padding of paws against the earth. My breath caught in my throat as I realized we weren’t alone. Something-someone-was out there, watching us, waiting for the right moment to strike.

"Stay alert," Jordan muttered, his voice low and commanding.

I could hear the pack members around me shifting, getting into position. But all I could do was stand there, feeling utterly helpless. The wolf inside me, the one that had been locked away for so long, stirred faintly in my chest, but it wasn’t enough to give me the strength I needed. It didn’t respond, didn’t wake, leaving me vulnerable and exposed.

The growling grew louder, closer, and I could hear the snarl of a wolf just beyond the tree line. It was only then that I realized what was happening. The Riverside pack-our enemy-had found us.

Before I could fully process the situation, the first wolf leapt from the shadows, a blur of teeth and fur. It slammed into one of our packmates, sending him crashing to the ground with a yelp of pain. The others reacted quickly, shifting into their wolf forms, snarling and snapping at the invaders.

I stood frozen, my heart thundering in my chest, as chaos erupted around me. My mind screamed at me to run, to get out of there before I was caught in the middle of a battle I wasn’t ready for. But my legs refused to move. I was paralyzed, unable to act, unable to protect myself.

"Clarissa!" Jordan shouted, his voice frantic. "Get to safety!"

I nodded instinctively, but I had no idea where safety was. I couldn’t see where the fight was taking place, couldn’t hear the direction of the attack over the noise of the chaos. I stumbled backward, trying to find some sort of cover, but it was useless. My body was too slow, too weak, and my fear kept me rooted to the spot.

Suddenly, I felt a rush of air behind me-a wolf, larger than any I had seen before, was barreling toward me. I didn’t have time to react. I could only hear its growl and feel the heat of its breath on my neck.

Before it could reach me, a dark shape appeared in front of me, blocking my path. The wolf collided with the shape, the force of the impact throwing it off course. I recognized the figure immediately.

Jordan.

He had thrown himself in front of me, taking the blow so I could escape.

"Go!" he snarled through gritted teeth, his body strained under the weight of the attack.

I hesitated, but only for a moment. I had no choice. I ran.

I didn’t know where I was running to, didn’t know what was safe anymore, but I ran as fast as I could, my heart pounding in my chest. The sounds of the battle faded behind me, but my fear never did.

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 99

Helen's POV The night was quiet, too quiet for comfort. I sat in my room, staring at the soft glow of the lantern on my table. I couldn’t sleep. My mind wouldn’t let me. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Clarissa's face again. The blind girl who somehow returned stronger than before. The one everyone whispered about with awe, pity, or both. She was supposed to stay broken. That’s what people like her did. They fell and stayed down. But she hadn’t.And that… that made me hate her more than I wanted to admit. The council had welcomed her back like she was some savior. They spoke of her like she was an important personality, and how she carried something rare inside her. I didn’t care about any of that. All I saw was how easily the pack’s eyes turned from me to her. How they smiled at her, even though she couldn’t see them.I was part of the ruling council now. I had fought, schemed, and smiled my way to that seat. I had earned it. Yet, the moment she returned, it was as if my years

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 98

Clarissa's POV The hostility and animosity toward me from pack members had become painfully obvious. I remembered going to the kitchen one afternoon to get a cup of tea when a female pack member suddenly bumped into me. The cup slipped from my hands, shattered on the floor, and the hot liquid splashed across my feet. Instead of apologizing, she hissed and began hurling insults at me.I was called all sorts of unprintable names, yet I chose to walk away. Deep down, I knew it wasn’t her fault—or that of the others who treated me the same way. I knew whose hand was behind it all. Helen. She was poisoning their minds, planting seeds of hatred in their hearts. But the height of it all came one night after I had taken a warm shower. I was just getting ready to rest when someone knocked on the door. The messenger said Alpha Thompson had sent for me.I frowned, puzzled. “Did he say why?” Tessy asked, her tone sharp with concern. The messenger shook his head. “No, ma’am. I was only told to br

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 97

Derek’s POVI woke up drenched in sweat, my breath coming in shallow bursts. The room was silent, except for the faint rustle of the curtains swaying in the night breeze. My heart pounded like a drum inside my chest. I had just had another dream—one of those dreams. It had been happening for the past three nights, always around the same time. I would jolt awake, sweating, shaken, and unable to shake off the feeling that the dream meant something. But tonight’s dream… this one was different. It was clearer, sharper—too real to ignore.I rubbed my face with my palms, trying to steady myself. The events of my life had driven me into a place I could only describe as desperate. A man can carry many burdens, but even the strongest alpha has limits. I was Derek, Alpha of Crescent Moon Pack, leader to many—but I was empty inside.I should have had a mate by now. Every alpha is born to lead beside one—a Luna, a bond of heart and spirit. But mine was gone before it even began. It all started th

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 96

Clarissa's POV I began to notice it slowly, like the first chill of winter creeping beneath a door. At first, I thought it was my imagination; that perhaps my blindness had made me oversensitive to people’s tones, to the weight of silence, to the subtle things sighted ones often missed. But then the small changes began to pile up, and the air around me felt different, colder and heavier. The first time was in the pack kitchen. I had gone in with Jasmine padding quietly at my side, her steady breathing guiding me more than the faint scrape of her paws on stone. The scent of baked bread and roasted herbs filled the air, and I smiled, grateful for the normalcy of it. I reached for the counter where I always placed my hand to find my way toward the cupboards.“Good morning,” I said gently, tilting my head toward the warmth of voices I heard ahead. The chatter that had filled the room hushed. For a moment, no one replied. The silence pressed into me, heavy and unnatural. Then one voice, N

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 95

Clarissa's POV I had grown used to silence. For weeks now, silence had been my companion. It was thick, heavy, and often suffocating. Being blind made the silence even louder sometimes. I had learned to navigate my way through it, listening to every creak in the floorboards, every distant footstep, every shift of air around me. But that night, silence betrayed me.It was through silence that I first caught the whispers.I had been sitting on the edge of my bed, my hands folded over my lap, my head tilted slightly toward the window where the faint night breeze seeped in. My wolf stirred within me, uneasy and restless. I pressed my lips together, willing her to settle. But instead, a strange thread of sound tugged at me, not through my ears but deep inside my head.“…she doesn’t belong here…”The voice was sharp, bitter, and it startled me. My back stiffened. I blinked into the emptiness around me, listening harder.“…the council will see it soon. Blindness is weakness, not strength…”

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 94

Helen’s POVThe whispers about Clarissa’s return reached me sooner than I expected. News traveled fast within Riverside, especially now that I sat among the ruling council. My seat at the long oak table gave me more than a voice; it gave me access. Access to information, to decisions, and to secrets. And with secrets came power.I had fought hard for that chair. Harder than anyone could imagine. I had clawed my way back into the good graces of the council after the shame I suffered, after Clarissa’s presence had once thrown me into the shadows. People thought I had disappeared for good, but wolves like me didn’t vanish. We waited, we listened and we learned when to strike. When I first heard that Clarissa had returned, my blood boiled. Even though blind, she had managed to plant herself in the hearts of those who should have forgotten her. Blindness was supposed to weaken her and make her dependent. Yet instead, it made her some sort of symbol of strength, of resilience. I hated how t
