Jade
I sank to my knees sobbing while Helena screamed at me, her face red."You did what? I can't believe you got a threat like that and didn't go to the police! What if you had been attacked? That's it, we're calling them right now." Helena grabbed her purse, rifling for her phone.Just then the house phone rang, startling us both. Helena picked it up cautiously."Hello?"A garbled, robotic voice came through the speakers. "Put it on speakerphone. Now."With shaking hands, Helena hit the speaker button. "Who is this?" she demanded."You may call me Mr. N," the voice said. "And I'd advise against calling the police if you want the children to remain unharmed."Helena and I exchanged horrified looks. This was the kidnapper!"What do you want?" Helena cried. "We'll give you anything, just don't hurt the kids!"The voice laughed coldly. "I'm not speaking to you. Put Jade on, now."I felt sick. This creep knew both of us. How long had he been watching us?"Please," I begged tearfully. "Just name your price. I'll pay anything to get my babies back.""I don't want your money. I just want to...chat," Mr. N purred. "Come to 425 Oak Street. Alone. No police, no friends. If you tell anyone or try to bring backup, I'll know. And you won't like what happens next."The line went dead. I met Helena's frightened gaze. She squeezed my hand. "We have to call the cops, Jade. This guy sounds dangerous—"I cut her off with a sharp look, glancing meaningfully at the phone. We didn't know if he was still listening.Grabbing a pen, I scrawled a quick note. 'I'm going. Look after yourself.'Before she could protest, I shifted into my wolf form and bolted for the door. As an omega, I was small even in wolf form, but I was fast on four legs. And I could handle any human who tried to hurt me.I raced through the dark streets, following the address to a sketchy warehouse. Creeping inside cautiously, I sniffed the air but smelled no one. No sound either. Just dusty old boxes and silence.Suddenly, a dart hit my flank. Tranquilizer, I realized dizzily as my legs gave out. I had walked right into a trap. My vision blurred, shadows creeping in.When I woke up, I was in a small, windowless room. I tensed, expecting restraints, but I was free. The space was clean, even comfortable, with a plush sofa and elegant table bearing fruit and pastries. Confused, I called out angrily."Enough games! Show yourself, coward!"A hidden intercom crackled to life. "Nah, that's no way to speak to your host." It was the synthesized voice from the phone.I glared at the camera in the corner. "Let me see my children. Now!""Of course. Take a look."A section of the wall slid away, revealing a window into...a playroom? My triplets laughed and played with expansive toys. They seemed perfectly content. Relief flooded through me at the sight of their smiling faces."As you can see, no harm has come to them," the voice purred smugly. "And it will remain that way, as long as you cooperate."My relief turned to anger. "You kidnapped my children, drugged me, locked me in a room, and you expect me to cooperate? Give me one good reason why I shouldn't rip your throat out!"A dark chuckle came through the intercom. "Feisty. I like it. Now open the drawer."Wary, I slid open the small drawer in the end table. Inside was a single photograph that made my blood turn to ice.It was Brad. His handsome face just as I remembered it from six years ago. The photo slipped from my numb fingers."What is this? What does Brad have to do with anything?" I whispered."Everything," purred the voice. "Don't worry. The task I have for you is simple."Dread settled like a stone in my gut. I didn't want anything to do with Brad ever again. "Just name your price," I pleaded. "I have money—""I don't want your money," Mr. N snapped. "You're going to finish what you started six years ago. Seduce Brad, make him fall in love with you again. Have him reject his mate. And then, once he confesses his love, you will publicly humiliate and reject him, just as he did to you."I stared at the speaker in disbelief. "You...you want me to destroy him?""Yes," Mr. N hissed. "Make him feel the pain and humiliation you experienced."I recoiled in disgust. "No! What you're asking is cruel.""Do you want your children back or not?" he growled.I pictured my sweet babies, scared and missing their mother. My heart shattered. I would do anything for them. Even this."How do I know I can trust you?" I asked faintly."You don't have a choice. But know this..." The voice turned ice cold. "If you deviate from the plan or try to warn him, you will never see your precious children again. I will be watching."The speaker clicked off, leaving me in silence. I stared at Brad's photo, my stomach twisting. The boy who had toyed with my heart was now the key to getting my kids back, as much as I hated it. I had no choice but to play this twisted game. But I swore to myself that I would find a way to win this and get my babies home safely. I wouldn't let Brad or anyone else hurt my family again. This time I was in control of the game board.Squaring my shoulders, I turned to the camera. "I'll do it," I declared. "Now take me to Brad."The war for my children's lives had begun. And I refused to lose. The kidnapper had no idea who he was dealing with. Jade Wolfe wasn't a naive girl anymore.I would make Brad fall for my act. I'd have the whole Nightingale Pack wrapped around my little finger. And when Brad least expected it, I would turn the tables and destroy him.Natasha, Nathan, Natalia...Mommy is coming for you. Be strong for just a little longer. I thought fiercely. We will be a family again.ConanI had won the fight between Brad and I. The fight which had spanned over years and decades and finally came up victorious. He returned to his human self as I did the same. I looked around to see the grounds which had been broken and filled with blood and machines.“All of this just to take me down,” I chuckled as he slowly healed and sat up, but he was too tired to do anything.“Don’t flatter yourself,” he coughed up a tooth. “It was for an entire country.”“And yet I took down your entire army single-handedly.”He growled at me. “Who are you? What kind of monster are you?”“The monster that you created, Brad!” I yelled in anger. “I used to have a home, a family, a mother and a father who loved me. I used to have a brother I thought was my better half but he turned out to be a monster.”Suddenly he got the hint of what I was saying as his eyes widened. “Yes Brad, we are both siblings. You were supposed to be my brother, my friend and the one who would watch my back. Instead you
ConanI stared at the robots before me that had halted, before looking at Brad, Trina and a strange lady in a snowy pack uniform. She had to be the one controlling these beasts. She stepped forward with a devious smile on her face.“You were the one who put my sister in a body bag,” she laughed. “You beat her so much she could not survive, so she succumbed to her wounds. That was my younger sister. I am going to make sure these machines deal so much damage to you, you wouldn’t even feel your jaw by the time they dislocate your body parts with punches.”I yawned. “You show up at my doorstep intending to have a war with me. I think we should start this war before arguing over who is stronger and who is not.”She laughed. “A feisty man I see. Very well. Let’s see how feisty you will be by the time they are done with you.”She pushed a button as the robots all turned to me.I counted at least twenty robots. The last
JadeI had not seen this coming. Now I knew we were really screwed. Conan has struggled against one of these creatures before being jumped by multiple. None of us could stand against this creature. It was too powerful for us to fight. We had to run out of here and give up the pack.“What is that thing?” a general gasped with the other warriors on the field watching this strange creature walk towards us.It seemed to have a few minor upgrades. Its arms were now made of iron, it wasn’t seven or eight foot tall like the last time. It had a sleek design but this was made to rival alpha’s and I was sure all of these new designs made it lighter and faster.“We need to get back to the pack and get everyone to safety,” I noted. “If we stay here we are going to die and lose everything. We need to get the people in the pack to safety first.”But the generals were still fascinated by what they were seeing.“General!
Jade“Good luck,” she hugged me. “And make sure you don’t die or I will kill you myself.”I wasn’t going to argue with her on how ridiculous that was but instead I would leave her to her thoughts.I headed out with the generals and the elders all wearing their armors. Our army had gone ahead of us to halt them ahead of time before they would get into the pack. If they got in, it was over. They would destroy our pack and kill our civilians too.We had nowhere to run or hide, this pack was all we had going for us.“So… have we sent word to our allies?” I asked while we rode in the battle van to the battlefield.“No one responded so it’s either they haven’t seen the message yet or they don’t want help. Either way we are on our own,” an elder responded. That was a strange thing. Every alpha was supposed to respond to a distress call from another alpha. It was an unwritten rule, unless the two packs had a silent war going on between them.We got to the field and I found how deadly it was.
Brad“That’s because you might be extremely cheap with the way you were banging her throughout. But you should know this,” she threatened. “The next time you sleep with someone else is the day I leave you for someone better and take all my forces with me. Do you hear me?”I could easily push her away but Trina had one of the best land forces who could fight even dangerous rogues without breaking a sweat and I needed them by my side. I had no choice but to accept her decision.“Yes,” I said. A knock came on the door as I opened it to find a maid there.“What is it?” I asked.“There is a call for you on line three.”I slammed the door on her face, zipping to take up the call.“Hello,” I said.“Conan is out of the game,” the voice said. “He’s been in a coma in the hospital for days now. I don’t think he’s going to make it out alive.”This gave me hope for my invasion. With Conan out of the equation, I would kill off his pack without difficulty. He was the greatest asset his pack had.*
Brad“Well,” I smiled, spreading my arms. “There goes my element of surprise.”“Oh please,” she stood up, zipping to stand before me. “I wasn’t expecting anyone to show up.”She brought her face too close to mine and her cold breath hit my hot face. The tension between us climbed to greater heights before she grabbed my hand and zipped me to a room where I tore her clothes and she removed mine.I was inside her within minutes while she moaned and we broke the bed with our combined force. When we were done, we laid in the mess we had created, fascinated by each other's strengths.“Does your wife give you sex the way I give you?” she smirked naughtily which had me kissing her breast before sitting up.“She’s not to be in this conversation,” I said. I hated having intimate discussions with those I slept with. They were not to know about my immediate family. That was something I should keep away from us. “I see you don’t want to talk about her. Very well then, why are you in my pack?“I c
BradI paced around the bedroom, wondering why my men weren’t picking up their calls.“Do you think they panicked and chewed the pill?” Trina asked.“That’s their own business.”“You held their wives and children captive and told them to track and take back your children or you would kill them. They could take the pill just to save their children.”I didn’t care about the dead. What I wanted now was a way to get back my children. If that was not going to be possible then there was only one thing to do. I would have to get back to the snow pack and make an alliance with them. I was sure they would want to know who had almost killed their queen.“I’ll be back,” I said, leaving her in the room as I headed for the garage to get into my car and drive off.The desert wolves were about to learn the meaning of what surrender looked like.I would first take back my back from the hands of my conquerors and then tear down their packs. After that, I would head for Conan’s pack and kill him and J
JadeShe cleaned a tear which fell off her eye, trailing a line down to her cheek. This must have been a very painful experience for her but I was still wondering why she was telling me this story.“I left him and headed out of town to come here,” she sighed. “The last time I checked on him, he was married to a fellow werewolf with four children and leading his pack as a warrior and the most feared one in his pack. I have wondered over the years if maybe if I had stayed with him, would I have brought him peace or agony?”“The only way to have known anything about that would have been you trying to get back with him and working your differences,” I smiled, now knowing what she was bringing the story for.“Exactly,” she smiled. “Now that’s the same thing for you and Conan. Instead of leaving him where he is in the hospital and running off in the model of the night like I did, not knowing if you were meant for him or not, you can work out your differences with him. “I recently found out
JadeI told her everything about what had happened and throughout my entire story, she didn’t interrupt me or say anything that distracted me.She was the only human friend I had made who actually listened to me. She was different from most of the people I had met.Even werewolves were not as good as she was. When I was done, she smiled at me, dragging me in for a hug while placing my head on her shoulder.“I’m very sure he wouldn’t listen to my pleas,” I sighed. “He probably hates me right now. I’m sure of it.”“No he doesn’t,” she sighed. “You have to talk to someone to know their true intentions.”“I don’t know about that. I’m sure he hates me. I betrayed him, Helena. I brought him to his knees. That’s not how a mate should behave. I should help him and not destroy him. I destroyed him.”My voice cracked while I let her go, standing to my feet to pace around the room.“And do you want to know the worst part of all of this?” I asked as she shook her head. “It’s the part where when
