We were within seconds, literally of marking our mate as we had to sit like dumbasses and watch her leave. You’d think this was Liam’s idea but no. Vance demanded we let her go. We always swore we would vote on any tough decisions, that just one of us would never overrule the group. But here, I just didn’t know what to say or do.

“She’s more than heard it from us. I have to hope an objective person can lay it out for her and make the case she can’t argue,” he had said.

He was right and I get what he’s saying. But it’s now been over four hours and night is close. She’s not back, she’s not in my arms. She’s not carrying my mark and she’s out in the wild where another could claim her. Nobody would be fucking dumb enough on the island, but the very fact that it COULD happen makes me ready to kill.

Puck was still following her though, so I knew she was safe. He said after their chat he felt he’d gotten through to her, that she’d do the right thing. He’d left
