Henry is everything I’ve ever wanted in a mate. He’s intelligent, kind, funny, and he doesn’t care who knows how much he adores me.

When we walk into the restaurant, I immediately feel uncomfortable.

“I knew I was underdressed,” I say quietly.

Henry stops and looks at me. “Do you want my shirt?”

I frown at him. “Do you have another one?”

“No, but then you won’t feel underdressed sitting with me.”

When I just stare at him, he reaches down to pull his shirt out of his pants.

“No!” I say, grabbing his hand before he can strip in the middle of this upscale restaurant. “I guess if they don’t like what I’m wearing, they can kick us out.”

“They don’t care that you’re wearing jeans, Piper. They care that we can pay,” he says, wrapping his arm aorund my waist and stepping up to the hostess stand.

“Alpha Henry Bishop. I called earlier for a table. We’re early. We’ll go to the bar and have a drink while we wait.”

“Alpha, of course. As soon as your table is ready, I’ll come get you.”
