Havermouth, Five Years before

Abigail returned with food and drinks on a tray, but Heath couldn’t bring himself to consume anything.

“You’ll be wanting to rescue your Triquetra,” August said with sympathy. “Go on, Heath. We’ll talk again, soon, about that car, right?”

“Right,” Heath felt physically ill. Having agreed to the arrangement, he knew that he couldn’t retract it, no matter what Rhett or Cameron said. Charlie, August, and Abigail would hold him to his promise And telling Rhett and Cameron was not going to be easy. He believed he had done the right thing, however, for the Triquetra, for the pack, and for Aislen, so he had to stick to the plan, no matter the reaction of his Triquetra.

He left the office and started down the hallway towards the front door, before taking an abrupt detour into the guest bathroom, and emptying the contents of his stomach into the stall. “F-k,” he panted as he wiped his mouth with the paper before discarding it into the bowl and flushing.
