Chapter 18

Twilight POV

As usual, she disappeared just before I woke up. Honestly, that was the most disturbing conversation I've ever had with her.

The bed felt more occupied than usual. I wonder...Oh, never mind. Natsumi was in it. She must have gotten in while I was asleep again. I don't mind but a little heads-up would be nice before I get a heart attack one of these days. I got out while trying not to wake her up and disappeared into the bathroom. By the time I'd finished getting ready, she was awake.

“Hi, Mama.”

“Hey, baby. Why didn't you tell me that you wanted to sleep with me?”

“Didn't wanna wake you.”

“It's ok if you wake me up. C'mon, let's get you ready.”

For obvious reasons, I always bathe her after feeding her.

“What do you want to wear?” I asked her.

“That and that.”

She pointed to her pinafore dress and striped turtleneck. I wasn't expecting that since it isn't her usual choice but who am I to judge?

“Ok, but I’m also throwing in a pair of leggings and a jacket because it’s cold
