Third-person POV

She came back home after taking Natsumi to see Takumi for a couple of hours and found her dad waiting for her.

“How did it go?” Her dad asked.

“It was a little awkward at first but it wasn’t too bad. So pretty ok, I think.”

“I'm glad you're handling this well.”

“Well, I can’t believe you were basically gossiping about me with my grandparents.”

“I… have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“Unreserved and anti-social. Do those two words ring a bell?”

“I just… you know… it was a spur of the moment.”

“You don’t think I believe that, do you?”

“Maybe.”

“I’m not mad, just disappointed.”

“Did you just use my own line against me?”

“Yeah. You should probably get used to it.”

Later that day, she and Youhei went to set Shin free. He involuntarily shifted and was too weak to move. She put a blanket over him.

“Has it been a month already?” He weakly asked.

“No, just a week.”

“Is this a break?”

“Sort of. I’ll explain everything once you get to the hospital.”
