A Wild Mission:

“I’m so happy this party is going to be on soil I’m familiar with and doesn’t have the issue I just came from experiencing two months ago.”

“Oh, that’s right. We never got to hear about your traumatic experience because shortly after we heard about you, this insane, awful thing happened to Beverly.” Dynasty says.

“Yeah, I visited with Beverly before I flew here, and her condition is the same. She's a strong woman and has trained us all to be strong. I know she will recover; we must keep praying for her.”

“I pray for her all the time and for all of us. I can’t take another mission going haywire.” Dynasty utters in a concerned tone.

“So, Tizzy, we heard you just got back from a wild mission,” Angela states.

“Where did Beverly send you?”

Tizzy looks over at Dynasty to see if she is alright before conveying her story.

“I’m fine. Please tell us, Tizzy.” Dynasty says, taking a big swallow of Long Island ice and nodding her head.

The Missing GirlThe ladies sat at the table, peering at Tizzy, and she continued to talk about her amazing experience in Brazil.“That’s right. He invited you there, and I can’t imagine what you must have gone through,” Angela says, rubbing Tizzy's shoulder to comfort her. “Hold on, let me finish telling the rest.” Tony never thought about a gang of mobsters coming into a nightclub and raiding it and taking beautiful young women. And he never thought he would ever be held at gunpoint and hit him in the head so hard, it felt as if his skull had been split open. Thank goodness he survived with only a slight concussion. Even though he was injured, it didn't stop him from worrying about me. Tony realizes he has to leave the matter in the local police's hands, with the hope that they will find me still alive. His conscience wouldn’t let him leave Brazil without knowing I was okay. So he crossed his wrist behind his head and tried to relax as he looked at his hotel door again from across

Here To Work, Not Play“All I’m going to tell you ladies is that when I got to Paris, I felt relieved and very much inspired. But I didn’t invite Mr. Tony because I’m going to be working with a new client. And I always find new inspiration when I take on new clients, and I don’t need to be distracted.”“We see you have a new loo,” Addie says, smiling.Tizzy, with her chocolate brown skin and hazel eyes, stood out against the backdrop of her long hair, which was now pin-straight. It framed her slender face and striking features with a polished sophistication that momentarily silenced the room. “What happened to your curls? Them being gone has something to do with this new inspiration?” Dynasty asked as everyone thought the same thing.“Nope. My curls met a straightening iron.” Tizzy said, laughing as everyone sighed agitatedly at her sarcasm.“I like your new look, but I like the curls, too,” Skylar says.“I’m tired of the curls. They make me look like a five-year-old.” “Not to me the

Alone In My ThoughtsOnce inside my apartment, I took a refreshing shower. The warm water rejuvenated my senses. My heart raced as I reminded myself that time was passing by so fast—I had only two days left to delve into the depths of Beverly's Journal. So, I prepared a quick dinner, sat at the dining room table, and began to read. Beverly hung her head, fighting back the tears. Percy quietly turns back around.Beverly looked up into the rearview, seeing Percy's worried expression. Then, she sighs, wiping the creases of her eyes, "I just got a call from an American lawyer who is representing my friend Lynette DuBois, telling me that she and her husband have left their child to me in their Will. A child, Percy!""What!?" Percy replied, surprisingly."Lynette has often told me how selfish and pathetic her siblings had been in the past."Though Beverly's life had recently become emotionally disruptive and hectic, she thought of Nettie and how kind she had been to her over the years. She

Reality Set InIn the days that followed, I grappled with an overwhelming sense of being unwanted and unloved. Each moment transformed into a struggle, as I fought to keep my emotions at bay. Beneath the surface, bitterness and anger simmered, threatening to engulf me. I carried deep-seated resentment towards those who entered my life after my parents' passing, their presence a constant reminder of my loss. These emotions, rooted in the innocence of my youth, weighed heavily on my heart, a painful contrast to the carefree days I once shared with Beverly. I had tried so hard to suppress and bury my past, and the question lingered: Why, Beverly, do you want me to relive all this pain and turmoil? It feels as though the wounds of my past are being reopened, and I struggle to understand the purpose behind it.I’m so full of disturbing thoughts that I had to drag myself out of bed, seeking a drink to soothe my frayed nerves. I was weary of self-pity, and the tears had long dried up. With

A Thirst For PainTossing and turning into the night isn't fun anymore. It's been going on far too long, and I can feel myself slipping into the darkness. I have been up all night, delving into a world I had long forgotten—a dark and empty world. I can’t sleep, and there is no stopping the tumultuous feelings that swell in me. I tell myself not to let one tear drop from under my closed lids. Images of what I went through back then, and how scared and alone I felt, were so vivid, it was as if I was reliving the memories all over again. My family's faces are so clear in my head, and how they treated me like I was nothing. How could they oppress a child, as if I weren’t their flesh and blood? Sharp pain enters my already weak body. But I became so filled with rage that I didn’t care. I turn my face into my pillow, beating my fist against the mattress as I cry silently, uncontrollable sobs shake my entire body. It’s only later, much later, that I fall asleep again. Sunlight slants acros

Paris, France: January - New YearI saw him in my dreams again. He entered my bedroom door, and I sat up quickly as we stared at each other silently. My blood begins to boil inside my body instantly. I looked for something to pick up and strike him with. The only things in my grasp were my night lamp and alarm clock. He slowly approached me, and I wondered if I would be quick enough to reach for the lamp.I waited for him to get closer to avoid missing my aim. "Can we talk?" He asked.Sheppard's voice only made me want to end his existence so he would never speak to me again. "Yes, come and let us talk," I said seductively.Sheppard sat on my bed, and before I knew it, my hand was gripped around the lamp's base. I began beating him with the lamp, each blow with a blunt force. Again, I hit him across the face and head!I could hear him pleading to stop, but I didn't. So, instead, I relentlessly hit him until I couldn't hear his voice speak any longer. That's when my eyes opened. The

Soak And WetI stood by the window, captivated by the trees swaying gracefully in the brisk wind, their vibrant green leaves twirling and fluttering like colorful confetti caught in an enthusiastic dance. I set my heart on filling my home with fresh air, eager to immerse myself in the joy of preparing a sumptuous meal just for me this weekend. As the soft afternoon light began its slow descent, casting a golden hue over everything, I remained blissfully ignorant of the thick, dark clouds gathering ominously on the horizon, transforming the once-blue sky into a heavy, brooding gray, signaling an impending storm I had yet to foresee.Absorbed in a gripping novel, I scarcely noticed the gentle hum of the television from the kitchen, where the tantalizing notes of a simmering sauce filled the air. "Beverly's story is becoming irresistible," I thought, reluctantly tearing my gaze from the pages of my book. I strolled over to the stove, where the rich savory aroma of garlic, tomatoes, and he

Understanding Men: To my beautiful daughter, Dynasty, I don’t mean to bore you with many words. But we have always been two good communicators, and I hope you feel the same way. I hope and pray that you do feel the same way, even though this form of communication is new for us.I smile…Oh, Beverly, I know you want me to respond. It’s not just a rhetorical question. So I paused, almost becoming teary-eyed. No, Beverly, I’m not bored. I have felt so many emotions, but most of all, I have been enlightened, and my eyes have been opened. I have looked forward to our talks in this manner because you are not here physically in the flesh, but I know through your words in this journal that you are here speaking to me.Dynasty, you have been the most extraordinary child a mother could wish for. Your obedience and discipline throughout your childhood have been remarkable. You are an outstanding student and a classy young lady. Playing With FireEveryone dispersed, as they all had previous plans with the young ladies they met at the gala. These guys loved what they did for a living. There were only two things that bothered Victor about his style of work. One, the men in his unit were some of the best men he had ever known. Victor could trust every single one of them to have his back. He didn't know what he would do if anything ever happened to them. That's why he tries to ensure they don't encounter any real potential violent missions. But in America, things can get violent quickly, and that's something to seriously worry about. Then, shut himself off emotionallywo, Victor, some years ago, after his emoti, onally. Now it's emotional survival. It made it easier to do his job. He no longer invested himself in the lives of other people, other than his boys. Any outside relationships he kept them at a distance. Dig Deeper Into You"Sorry, boss, for disturbing you, but I think you need to hear this. I didn't get a chance to talk to you with so much that has happened in the last 48 hours. But that guy you entertained at the Gala. His name was Victor Choi. I expected his father to attend the Gala, but instead, his son came. I've been trying to find out why his father didn't come, but I've been running into dead ends while trying to get any information on Sheppard Choi. It’s as if he has gone missing in action. So I couldn't sleep and I had to call you and warn you, just in case he shows up again."Angela was far too late with her warning because Dynasty had already spent a very long evening, into the late morning, with him."I'm aware of who he is, and I have spoken with him since the Gala. He's my target." "But boss, he's not the old man you expected. He's around your age and very debonair. Not to mention, he must be angry about his family's wealth. I think it's too dangerous, Dynasty. You do

Captivated"It sounds awful hearing it described that way. However, I couldn't have described it any better. That's how it is. I'm sorry to say this to you."Victor felt something deep in his soul stir for the first time. He didn't know how to describe it other than feeling very sorry."It's okay, that's your world? It is very sad. I didn't know, but I do now. I feel very sorry for you."From looking at her face, Victor could tell that what he said didn't suit her taste. But despite that, he couldn't stop gazing at her with amazement in his eyes. "I think you're reading me wrong again. I do…" The dynasty had to fight off, entering a defensive attack mode for females. Because every time she looked at his pathetic and demeaning view, he had women. She saw in his eyes for the first time that he recognized that something was wrong with his view and way of thinking. Dynasty wore a pleasant smile, even though she was holding back words that were itching to escape her lips. “You seem unha

Don’t Want To LeaveSince you’re here in my home, I want to ensure you’re neither married nor entangled with someone else. I maintain a strict policy against involving myself with married men outside of work," she stated, her clarity reflecting a deep respect for herself and for Victor.A flicker of surprise crossed Victor's face at her bold frankness. A charged tension settled in the air as he contemplated his response, weighing his words carefully."Relax," she encouraged, a warm smile curving her lips, disarming the initial intensity of the moment. "I’m simply inquiring whether you’re in a serious relationship, like having a girlfriend or a spouse. So are you involved?" Her calm yet probing tone, intertwined with the candlelight flickering across his well-contoured features, helped diffuse the atmosphere.Dynasty had a clear intention behind her question. To her, clarity was paramount in the early stages of any relationship to avoid the messy complications that often ensue in roman

The Scent Of A Woman:“Thank you,” Victor replied, managing to maintain a calm facade even as a flurry of nerves fluttered in his stomach like a restless bird trying to escape. He made his way across the room to the credenza, his hand moving almost mechanically as he poured a generous glass of his favorite red wine. The deep, rich aroma wrapped around him, momentarily distracting him from the anticipation building within. She reappeared, and the atmosphere shifted dramatically. The simple robe had disappeared, replaced by a stunning, metallic silk maxi dress explicitly tailored for her. The fabric caught the soft light, shimmering like liquid sunshine, and accentuated her every curve with effortless elegance, leaving Victor momentarily breathless. Each step she took unveiled daring slits that climbed high along the sides of the dress, teasing glimpses of her toned thighs that hinted at both strength and grace. Meanwhile, the neckline, adorned with untied drawstrings, invited his gaze

Revealing Identity:“Hello! Who’s calling?” The voice emanating from the intercom was warm and inviting, wrapping the small, cozy room in a friendly atmosphere that felt almost comforting.“Is this Ms. DuBois's residence?” The question came from an appealing masculine voice that carried a warm charm, its rich timbre echoing softly against the walls. There was a genuine curiosity in his tone, making it impossible not to be drawn in by his presence.“Yes, it is,” she replied, her voice smooth and refined, embodying a sense of grace that belied her underlying caution. “May I ask who’s calling?” There was a subtle tension in her tone, a delicate thread of suspicion woven through her politeness, adding an intriguing layer of suspense to the exchange as she prepared to guard the information she held.Victor inched closer to the sleek, black camera positioned next to the door, his captivating smile lighting up his striking features. The warm corridor light streamed down on him, casting a gold

The air buzzed with an electric intensity, thick with apprehension that practically wrapped around her.To make matters worse, her lawyer—her only ally in this intricate maze of law—had been barred from the room, leaving her feeling stranded and vulnerable. This was her first real brush with the police, a stark contrast to the previous encounter she had in a hospital in Paris with Bevely. Each second dragged on, stretching into a torturous eternity as she anxiously anticipated her attorney’s arrival—the lone flicker of hope in this daunting predicament. The situation became a true test of her character, pushing her resolve and resilience to their very limits. Alert! Alert! As the meeting drew to a close, the President surveyed the room with her keen, perceptive gaze, acutely aware of the absence that lingered like a shadow among her advisors. She chose to hold her tongue, allowing the others to reveal the truth as it unfolded. Just then, Angelique rose from her seat, her posture betraying an urgency she couldn’t mask. With a respectful nod, she requested permission to step out of the conference room for a moment. Upon her return, she approached the group with a palpable sense of trepidation etched across her features. Clearing her throat, she delivered the critical news with a tremor in her voice. "Dynasty," she began, her words trembling slightly, "the evidence we gathered last night was undeniably clear. After reviewing all the footage and testimonies, it’s apparent that the decision to fire shots was made in self-defense." The weight of her revelation hung in the air, as the room processed the gravity of what it meant for their ongoi
