Zoey's POV
How ridiculous and pitiful I was.
But it was all too late. I could only lie here in despair, waiting for the merciless verdict of fate.
"The surgery begins. No anesthesia is needed for the donor." The lead surgeon's cold voice rang out.
Then, I could feel my heart being slowly removed, my breathing growing weaker and weaker, and I felt myself drifting towards death in despair and agony.
I felt my body becoming light and transparent, slowly floating in mid-air.
I watched as the doctor cut open Ariana's chest, preparing for the heart transplant. There was no trace of mercy on their faces, only a focus on this heinous surgery.
"Bang!" The operating room door was kicked open with a loud crash, shattering the eerie silence.
A group of people stormed in, led by a man in a black trench coat, his posture upright, exuding a powerful and mysterious aura, the kind of dignity and strength unique to werewolves.
As he entered the room, I could feel the tension and oppression in the air, as if countless invisible wolf eyes were watching from the darkness.
"Zoey..." His voice trembled, and his steps were unsteady, "I'm sorry. I'm too late."
He took off the obsidian bracelet from his wrist, placed it on mine, and held my already cold hand, his eyes filled with despair, as if the whole world had collapsed at that moment.
"Russell, you're not dead? You're not in a wheelchair anymore? Your leg is healed?" Nelson's voice trembled, and he swallowed hard, his eyes filled with terror.
At that moment, I noticed the aura around Russell growing stronger, the scent of the werewolf surging.
Russell suddenly lifted his eyelids, his gaze as sharp as a knife, staring intently at Nelson, who was kneeling on the ground, his eyes filled with terrifying murderous intent, as if he could tear Nelson into pieces in an instant.
Nelson was so frightened that he trembled all over, pleading, "Russell, spare my life! I beg you. I'm your nephew!"
Russell walked step by step towards him, the air around him seeming to twist with his wolfish rage.
His fingers began to deform slightly, his nails growing longer and sharper, taking on the rudimentary form of wolf claws. His eyes flickered with an eerie green light, a sign that the werewolf was about to lose control.
"You killed her, so go join her in the grave!" His voice was as cold as if it came from a freezer, devoid of any warmth, and it was mixed with a deep, low growl, as if he would transform into a werewolf and tear Nelson apart at any moment.
I floated in the air, anxious and desperate. I couldn't just watch Russell commit a crime. Otherwise, he would be doomed too.
But I could do nothing, only watch in despair as everything unfolded.
Screams echoed throughout the operating room, deafening, and everyone involved in this heinous surgery fell to the ground, scattered and bleeding, the blood spreading across the floor, staining a large area red.
I watched as Russell killed everyone, then carried my body to the seaside, where he sat on the beach all night.
The moment the sun rose above the horizon, Russell finally moved his eyelids and whispered, "Didn't you say you hadn't seen a sunrise yet, hadn't been in love, didn't want to die? Why did you leave so soon?"
I had said that in the fire, and I didn't expect he would remember it even now.
Russell's throat choked, his voice hoarse as he said, "Zoey, I've seen the sunrise with you. As for love, let's talk about it in the next life, okay?"
With that, he unhesitatingly pressed the gun to his temple.
I was stunned, then lunged forward, trying to grab Russell's hand, but I still couldn't touch anything. My hand passed right through his body.
"No, please don't!" I cried out in despair, but my voice seemed to be drowned out by the roaring waves, unable to reach his ears.
Watching him lying on the beach, I felt my heart being torn apart, crying out in agony, completely broken down.
Suddenly, my body was violently torn and twisted by a mysterious force, the pain driving me nearly mad.
I could feel a powerful force surging within me, the awakening of the werewolf bloodline.
I could sense my bones reshaping, my muscles swelling, my senses becoming extraordinarily acute. I could even hear the faint sound of distant waves crashing against the rocks and smell the salty tang in the air.
"No!" I opened my eyes wide, gasping for breath, only to realize that all of this had been just a nightmare.
What I saw was the bright vanity mirror.
I stared at myself in the mirror, dressed in a business suit with my hair neatly coiffed, and for a moment, I stood there stunned, a flood of thoughts washing over me.
Slowly looking around, yes, this was my room in the Harmon family.
It wasn't very spacious, and it used to be just a storage room. It was only simply renovated before I came back.
I raised my hand and pressed it to my chest, feeling the clear "thump-thump" of my heartbeat.
I wasn't dead! I was alive, and I had returned to two years ago!
Third Person's POVRoland looked at Jayleen, "Are you in on the bet? I guess you don't have much confidence in Ariana's design drafts, so let's just forget it."Jayleen knew Roland was trying to provoke her, but she wasn't the type to be easily agitated. However, this time, she was extremely confident in Ariana's design drafts, so she haughtily raised her head, "Sure! But if Zoey doesn't beat Ariana, she must apologize to me as well. Conversely, I'll apologize to her!"Roland was naturally full of confidence in Zoey, "Remember what you said. Everyone here, remember their words, so they can't go back on their promises later."At that moment, a male voice rang out, "Just apology? If you're going to bet, make it kowtow!"Everyone turned to look, and saw the newcomer dressed in a suit and tie, with a nonchalant attitude, it was Nelson.Nelson directly put his arm around Ariana's waist, "Sorr
Third Person's POVLeanna was dressed in a white off-shoulder maxi dress, revealing her fair and flat shoulders. A belt was tied around her waist, giving her an elegant and graceful appearance. She smiled and spoke calmly, "When Star signed with Galaxy Studio, she explicitly stated that she needed absolute time and space, which means absolute freedom. She doesn't like to participate in such events, so she never makes an appearance, and I can't force her. As a top designer, how could Star give her sketches to someone else? I don't know where you've heard these messages from, but if you can find the source, I, on behalf of the design studio, will send a legal letter. Such rumors are an insult to designers. The sketches this time were designed by Zoey and have been recognized by all the designers in the studio. Therefore, whether it's Star or Zoey, I hope everyone focuses on the work itself, not these baseless rumors."The reporters then poi
Third Person's POVPriscilla's nose was already beaded with fine sweat, and with a "thud," she knelt on the ground, "Mr. Madox, Mrs. Madox, spare my life, please. I was just confused for a moment! Someone contacted me, offering me two hundred thousand to observe whether Mr. Madox is disabled, and I was bewitched."Brent conducted a search and retrieved Priscilla's phone, handing it over to Zoey.Russell watched Priscilla coldly, a suppressed low pressure filling the entire living room."Brent, have her taken to Snake Forest."Snake Forest?Priscilla was terrified, "I only sent one message to them, and I haven't sent anything since."Zoey asked, "What did you send?"Priscilla answered, "When I was washing the bedsheet last time, I saw bloodstains on it. I sent this message to them. It was just this once! Mr. Madox, I beg of you, don't send me to Snake Forest! I have an eighty
Third Person's POVAriana said confidently, "Nelson, this time we are gonna win!"Nelson recalled how Zoey had once exposed her conversation with Ariana, claiming that Ariana's design drafts were drawn by Zoey.He furrowed his brows and asked, "Ariana, are these design drafts drawn by Zoey?"Ariana became a bit angry, "Nelson, how could you think that way? Zoey is just slandering me! She's the one plagiarizing!"Nelson smiled, "Don't be upset. As long as you say no, I believe you. Baby, I miss you. Come over tonight, okay?"Ariana listened, her mouth twitching as she looked at the whip marks on her body, feeling a shiver run through her, "I still have to work on the finished products. How about after the launch is over? I'll keep you company, alright?"Nelson gritted his teeth, "Fine, I'll wait for you."After hanging up the phone, his gaze turned gloomy and profound.
Third Person's POVZoey walked into Russell's room. He was standing in front of the French window, talking on the phone.Dressed in dark blue pajamas that blended with the curtains of the same hue, he turned his head upon hearing her approach, his pale face appearing colder. After ending the call, he walked up to Zoey.Zoey lowered her eyes, her teeth biting her lower lip.Russell used his fingertip to lift her chin, asking, "Afraid to look at me?"Zoey responded vaguely, "How could I be?"Russell took a step forward, his toes touching hers, "I'm sorry. I lost control a bit today.""It's okay. I understand. After all, you were drugged.""What if I hadn't been drugged?"Zoey swallowed hard. If that were the case, she was indeed a little scared.Russell chuckled, picked her up horizontally, and said, "Let's get some sleep, okay?"&
Third Person's POV"No.""Really?""Mm-hmm."Russell tilted his head, gently pecking her, again and again, "Then how about one more time?"Zoey was taken aback, "You... you... can't!""I can't?"Zoey swallowed, "I mean, this wolfsbane is too potent. If we continue like this, your wolf will keep spiraling out of control, and you won't tire all night, but it would be too harmful to your body."She pursed her lips, "I wanted to tell you this just now, but you wouldn't listen."Russell fell silent for a moment, then asked again, "So, can I or can't I?"Zoey bit her lower lip, feeling her face burning hot."You can, you're very capable, you're the best!"Russell chuckled, "When does your period end?""In about two days.""Okay."What did "okay" mean?Zoey lowered her head and s
