Chapter 2

Autor: Pink Candy
Six days before my “death.”

Alpha Wilson sat beside me, looking somewhat apologetic.

“Lily, Vivian wants to move into our home because the Elders want us to get pregnant with a puppy as soon as possible.”

He took my hand, his voice gentle.

“Could you stay at the Voss estate for a few days? Once she gives birth to the puppy, I’ll bring you back.”

I looked at him and did not ask why Vivian could not live somewhere else, why she had to move into our marital home.

Anyway, in six days I would no longer be here.

“All right.”

Wilson seemed not to have expected me to agree so readily. He paused, then pulled me into his arms.

“I’m sorry you’ve been wronged during this time.”

He drove me back to the Voss estate himself.

As soon as the car left our home, my stomach churned.

The early pregnancy symptoms were growing more severe. I covered my mouth, forcing down the urge to vomit.

Wilson immediately pulled over, took motion-sickness medicine, sour lemon candies, and a bottle of soda water from the glove compartment—things he always prepared carefully because of my severe carsickness.

He unscrewed the bottle and held it to my lips.

“Still want to throw up?”

“Much better. Thank you.”

I took the water, avoiding his hand.

Wilson did not mind. He peeled a lemon candy and offered it to me.

“Daring, your reaction is so strong this time… I almost thought it was morning sickness from pregnancy…”

He stopped mid-sentence.

The car fell silent.

Pregnancy had always been the topic we carefully avoided.

Humans rarely conceived a werewolf’s child.

When the Elders opposed our mate bond, apart from the bloodline issue, the greatest reason was that I might never be able to give Wilson an heir.

Back then he had held me and sworn that even if we never had children, he would never regret choosing me.

Now Vivian had returned.

The Elders needed a legitimate puppy heir, and he had personally placed the fake-death potion in my palm.

I lowered my head, sucked on the lemon candy, and forced down the sourness in my throat.

I was indeed pregnant.

Only this news he would never know.

“Just carsickness. You know that,” I replied lightly.

We did not speak again for the rest of the journey.

When the car stopped at the gates of the Voss estate, Xavier and Victor were already waiting.

“Lily!”

Xavier strode forward and pulled me into his arms.

“I can’t bear to let you go.”

His voice was a little hoarse.

I did not respond.

At thirteen I had been adopted by the Voss family.

Xavier and Victor had once protected me, driven away the werewolves who bullied me. They had accompanied me through the hardest days and told me that no matter what happened, the Voss family would always be my home.

Now they were the ones sending me away as well.

Victor took my luggage and said quietly, “Come inside first. The lawyer sent by the Elders has already arrived.”

In the study the family lawyer, the public-relations consultant, and the head of security were already seated.

On the table lay a prepared announcement.

Lily Sterling, Luna of the Blood Moon Pack, would die suddenly of an accident at the banquet six days later.

The time of death, funeral arrangements, location of the grave, even the exact time the public statement would be released—all were listed clearly.

Beside it lay a memorial photograph.

It had been taken last spring.

Wilson and I had gone to see the flowers. He noticed my hair ornament was crooked, carefully fixed it for me, then suddenly called the photographer over and insisted on taking a solo shot of me.

“Lily, smile.”

The look in his eyes then had been so tender it seemed I was the only person in the world.

“You’re so beautiful today.”

Then he kissed me.

Now that photograph had become my memorial portrait.

So he had long ago left behind the image most suitable for death.

Xavier picked up the documents and explained, “This is only to make the Elders believe you are dead. Once the storm passes, we will find a way to bring you back.”

“Will I still be able to contact you?”

Victor shook his head.

“No. You and Wilson have a mate bond. Any mental link could expose your location. Your phone and accounts must all be deactivated.”

“What if I get sick?”

“We’ll send a doctor.”

“What if I want to come home?”

Both men fell silent at the same time.

After a long while Xavier sighed.

“Lily, don’t make things difficult for your brothers. You know a pack cannot be without an heir.”

I looked at him and quietly touched my abdomen.

“So sacrificing me is acceptable?”

“That’s not what we mean!” Victor hurried to explain. “You’re only leaving temporarily. Once Vivian gives birth to the heir, everything will return to normal.”

I asked nothing more.

Even their words of comfort were identical to Wilson’s.

Before leaving, Xavier handed me a private travel permit.

“After your ‘death,’ you must leave immediately. This permit will get you through the northern border checkpoints.”

Victor handed me a small box.

Inside was the moonstone necklace Xavier had given me when I was thirteen.

“Take it,” he said quietly. “When you miss home in the new place, you can look at it.”

I gripped the box tightly and suddenly asked,

“If you had to choose between me and Vivian, you would still choose her, wouldn’t you?”

Neither of them answered.

I finally understood.

Some questions never needed answers.

After they left, I took out my phone and sent another message to my human friend.

【Carry out the plan strictly in six days. Also, please arrange a private plane for me.】

The place they had prepared for me was in the north. After my fake death, I would go south instead.

The reply came quickly: Received.

Six more days, and I could leave.

  • The Pregnant Luna Who Faked Her Death   Chapter 10

Even though I refused them, Wilson, Xavier, and Victor still did not leave. Every morning fresh fruit and vegetables were placed at the door. Sometimes there was also milk powder, baby clothes, rattles, and plush toys. I never accepted any of them. Today when I opened the door the entrance was again piled high with things. I turned my head expressionlessly and called Amy. “I’m not convenient bending over. Could you please help me throw away the garbage at the door?” Amy followed my gaze. Wilson stood at the foot of the steps, still holding an exquisitely packaged baby bassinet. Xavier and Victor stood behind him; all three were looking at me. Wilson opened his mouth as if wanting to say something. I had already turned and gone back inside. Amy rolled her eyes at them and agreed readily. “Sure. I’ll throw all this garbage away right now.” The next second she picked up the paper bags at the door one after another and tossed them into the trash bin. Those gifts

Lily’s POV Wilson had still found me. I stood by the street and watched the man walking toward me, my fingers unconsciously tightening around the examination report. After five months apart he had grown much thinner. The bottoms of his eyes were full of bloodshot veins; even the collar that used to be meticulously neat was wrinkled. His gaze fell on my face, then slowly moved downward and stopped on my high, rounded pregnant belly. Those eyes instantly turned red. “Lily…” He stretched out a trembling hand as if wanting to touch me, yet not daring to. I ignored him and only instinctively took a step back. Today I had only come out for a prenatal checkup. At nearly eight months, my belly was growing larger and walking was no longer as steady as before. Just now when going down the steps I had almost missed my footing; luckily I had run into Dr. Brown from the town, who had steadied me in time. I had not expected that in such a short while I would meet the person I l

Wilson’s POV I had seen Lily’s paintings. In the second year of our marriage she once gave me an oil painting. It showed a small wooden cabin, the sunset falling on the lake, the distant woods dyed gold. She said she hoped that one day we could leave the pack’s disputes and find a quiet place to live. At that time I kissed her forehead and promised that when we grew old I would accompany her to see all the scenery in the world. Later that painting was hung in the most prominent place in my study. Only after she fell into the fire did I discover I no longer had the courage to look at it. Now the painting Victor brought, though completely different in content, shared a similar brushwork. Especially the handling of light and shadow. That was Lily’s unique habit. I shot to my feet, knocking over the chair behind me. “Where did this painting come from?” Victor answered at once, “A southern town called Lington. It was sent by a local buyer’s agent. I’ve already chec

  • The Pregnant Luna Who Faked Her Death   Chapter 7

Lily’s POV In the southern town, mornings were always filled with birdsong. I lived in a small lakeside house. Opening the window, I could see continuous green mountains in the distance. Here there were no werewolves, no Elders, and no one who called me Luna. I was simply Lily, an ordinary woman about to become a mother. By now I was seven months pregnant. My belly grew larger by the day; even bending to put on shoes had become difficult. Fortunately Amy had stayed with me the whole time. “Lily! I’m back!” A familiar voice came from outside the door. I had just set down my paintbrush when Amy pushed the door open carrying a large bag of groceries and ran excitedly to me. “Has the baby in your belly been giving you trouble today?” “He’s been very good.” I smiled and carefully put away the paints on the canvas. Amy came over and gently touched my belly. “Baby, you have to behave. Your mother is still earning money to support the family while carrying you!” A

Wilson’s POV Lily might still be alive. That sentence supported me through the next five full months. For five entire months I mobilized every resource of the Blood Moon Pack and searched every inch of land near the explosion site. We checked hospital admission records, investigated every vehicle that left the banquet before and after the explosion, even sent people searching along the river for any body that might have been washed away. I personally went to the north. There was the private villa I had prepared for Lily, along with her new identity. But when my subordinates opened the villa door, the place was empty—not even a trace that anyone had ever lived there. I also took people south, searching every port, airport, and coastal town. No Lily. Five months passed. Every report I received carried the same result. Luna not found. Xavier and Victor had not given up either. They suspended most pack affairs and personally led people searching everywhere. Xavier

  • The Pregnant Luna Who Faked Her Death   Chapter 5

Wilson’s POV “Lily!!!” I watched with my own eyes as she fell from the second floor, her figure completely swallowed by the flames. The hand I had stretched out froze in mid-air. I had not even managed to grasp her last finger. “Lily!!!” I charged toward the railing like a madman, only to be forced back by a collapsing beam. “Wilson!” Xavier and Victor rushed over, both deathly pale, eyes bloodshot. Xavier’s voice trembled. “Lily… Lily is pregnant!” Regret instantly drowned me. Lily was carrying my puppy. And I had not even known when she became pregnant. Only a few hours earlier I had still been thinking that once Vivian gave birth to the heir, I would bring Lily back. I had still told her to wait a little longer. I had believed she would stand in place and wait for me the way she had for the past fifteen years. “Put out the fire! Hurry and put out the fire!” Firefighters finally arrived; water jets poured into the burning banquet hall. I shoved asi
