Chapter 1

“I’ve prepared everything for you, Lily.”

Alpha Wilson embraced me from behind and kissed the top of my head, his voice as doting as ever.

A full set of documents lay spread across the table:

a new passport, a new bank account, and a private villa in the far north.

Even my new identity had been arranged.

【Twenty-eight years old, widowed, no children.】

I stared at those few lines and suddenly found it almost funny.

I was still alive, yet my own mate had already arranged the life I would live after death.

“Once you arrive there, I’ll transfer money to you regularly,” Wilson said, taking my hand. “When Vivian gives birth to the heir, I’ll bring you back. Trust me—it won’t be long.”

He spoke earnestly, as if enough compensation could turn this betrayal into a harmless temporary parting.

My two brothers sat opposite us.

Xavier Voss was the pack’s Beta; Victor Voss was the Delta.

At thirteen I had been adopted by the Voss family. They treated me like a true younger sister, stood up for me, celebrated my birthdays, and had never hesitated to shield me when other werewolves mocked me.

It was through them that I met Wilson Sterling.

For the fifteen years that followed, Wilson and I grew to know and love each other.

I had believed I was already irreplaceable in their lives.

Only today did I learn that before me, they had a childhood sweetheart who had grown up with them, Vivian.

And I was merely the human girl who did not fit pack rules, yet whom Wilson had insisted on choosing.

“Lily, don’t overthink it,” Xavier said gently. “This is only a temporary measure. Vivian must give birth to a pure-blood heir so the Elders can rest easy. Once everything is settled, things will return to the way they were.”

Victor nodded in agreement.

“Everyone has seen how much Wilson loves you. Just wait a little longer.”

I lowered my eyes and said nothing.

In seven days the Blood Moon Pack would hold a banquet.

They wanted me to take the fake-death potion in public, creating the appearance of sudden death.

Afterward a private plane would take me north.

From that day on, Lily Sterling, Luna of the Blood Moon Pack, would become a corpse no one could find.

“Lily, do you understand? Can you accept it?”

Three pairs of eyes looked at me with expectation.

Under their hopeful gazes I nodded.

“All right.”

They clearly relaxed.

Wilson ruffled my hair and smiled. “I knew you’d understand.”

He glanced at his watch and stood, straightening his cuffs.

“That’s good, darling. The Pack is holding a welcome banquet for Vivian today. Time is almost up, I have to go ahead.”

Before he finished speaking, a soft female voice came from outside the door.

“Wilson, am I interrupting?”

Vivian pushed the door open.

She wore a long white dress, her eyes slightly red, as if she had suffered some great grievance.

“Of course not.”

Wilson immediately went to meet her.

Almost at the same moment Xavier and Victor also stood.

“Why are you crying?”

“Who bullied you? Tell us.”

The three men surrounded her, not even glancing at me again.

Vivian sniffled and gently shook her head.

“No one bullied me. It’s just that I’ve only just returned and I’m not used to things yet. I heard the Elders want me to get pregnant with an heir as soon as possible… I’m a little afraid.”

Wilson immediately took her hand.

“Don’t be afraid. I’m here. I’ll take good care of you.”

I suddenly remembered that when I was thirteen and first bullied by the pack’s children, I had also run to him in tears.

Back then he had held me the same way and said that as long as he was there, no one would be allowed to hurt me.

Now the same words were spoken to another woman.

And in my belly, his child was already growing.

This secret I had originally planned to tell him today.

“Wilson,” Vivian said timidly, looking at me, “Lily won’t blame me, will she? After all, once I returned, all of you have to busy yourselves for my sake.”

“Nonsense,” Wilson frowned. “You were always a member of the Blood Moon Pack, and the little sister we grew up with. Taking care of you is only right.”

Little sister.

I almost laughed aloud.

So fifteen years of knowing and loving each other, four years as Luna, could not outweigh a single phrase—“we grew up together.”

“By the way, Lily,” Xavier finally remembered me, “don’t you still have some things to pack? Before the banquet starts, go back to your room first.”

Victor chimed in, “Vivian has only just returned and needs us with her. You’ve always been sensible, don’t make a scene at a time like this.”

I looked at them and felt the last shred of expectation disappear.

“All right.”

I picked up the documents from the table and turned to leave.

Back in my room I locked the door and dialed a number I had not contacted for a long time.

The call connected quickly.

“Lily? Why are you suddenly calling me?”

Hearing my human best friend’s familiar voice, I finally showed the first genuine smile in days.

“Help me with something.”

“What is it?”

I looked out the window. The banquet hall of the Blood Moon Pack was already lit.

In seven days they wanted me to die in front of everyone.

Then I would give them a funeral they would never forget.

“In seven days, arrange an explosion for me.

I want everyone to believe that Lily is already dead.”

  • The Pregnant Luna Who Faked Her Death   Chapter 10

Even though I refused them, Wilson, Xavier, and Victor still did not leave. Every morning fresh fruit and vegetables were placed at the door. Sometimes there was also milk powder, baby clothes, rattles, and plush toys. I never accepted any of them. Today when I opened the door the entrance was again piled high with things. I turned my head expressionlessly and called Amy. “I’m not convenient bending over. Could you please help me throw away the garbage at the door?” Amy followed my gaze. Wilson stood at the foot of the steps, still holding an exquisitely packaged baby bassinet. Xavier and Victor stood behind him; all three were looking at me. Wilson opened his mouth as if wanting to say something. I had already turned and gone back inside. Amy rolled her eyes at them and agreed readily. “Sure. I’ll throw all this garbage away right now.” The next second she picked up the paper bags at the door one after another and tossed them into the trash bin. Those gifts

Lily’s POV Wilson had still found me. I stood by the street and watched the man walking toward me, my fingers unconsciously tightening around the examination report. After five months apart he had grown much thinner. The bottoms of his eyes were full of bloodshot veins; even the collar that used to be meticulously neat was wrinkled. His gaze fell on my face, then slowly moved downward and stopped on my high, rounded pregnant belly. Those eyes instantly turned red. “Lily…” He stretched out a trembling hand as if wanting to touch me, yet not daring to. I ignored him and only instinctively took a step back. Today I had only come out for a prenatal checkup. At nearly eight months, my belly was growing larger and walking was no longer as steady as before. Just now when going down the steps I had almost missed my footing; luckily I had run into Dr. Brown from the town, who had steadied me in time. I had not expected that in such a short while I would meet the person I l

Wilson’s POV I had seen Lily’s paintings. In the second year of our marriage she once gave me an oil painting. It showed a small wooden cabin, the sunset falling on the lake, the distant woods dyed gold. She said she hoped that one day we could leave the pack’s disputes and find a quiet place to live. At that time I kissed her forehead and promised that when we grew old I would accompany her to see all the scenery in the world. Later that painting was hung in the most prominent place in my study. Only after she fell into the fire did I discover I no longer had the courage to look at it. Now the painting Victor brought, though completely different in content, shared a similar brushwork. Especially the handling of light and shadow. That was Lily’s unique habit. I shot to my feet, knocking over the chair behind me. “Where did this painting come from?” Victor answered at once, “A southern town called Lington. It was sent by a local buyer’s agent. I’ve already chec

  • The Pregnant Luna Who Faked Her Death   Chapter 7

Lily’s POV In the southern town, mornings were always filled with birdsong. I lived in a small lakeside house. Opening the window, I could see continuous green mountains in the distance. Here there were no werewolves, no Elders, and no one who called me Luna. I was simply Lily, an ordinary woman about to become a mother. By now I was seven months pregnant. My belly grew larger by the day; even bending to put on shoes had become difficult. Fortunately Amy had stayed with me the whole time. “Lily! I’m back!” A familiar voice came from outside the door. I had just set down my paintbrush when Amy pushed the door open carrying a large bag of groceries and ran excitedly to me. “Has the baby in your belly been giving you trouble today?” “He’s been very good.” I smiled and carefully put away the paints on the canvas. Amy came over and gently touched my belly. “Baby, you have to behave. Your mother is still earning money to support the family while carrying you!” A

Wilson’s POV Lily might still be alive. That sentence supported me through the next five full months. For five entire months I mobilized every resource of the Blood Moon Pack and searched every inch of land near the explosion site. We checked hospital admission records, investigated every vehicle that left the banquet before and after the explosion, even sent people searching along the river for any body that might have been washed away. I personally went to the north. There was the private villa I had prepared for Lily, along with her new identity. But when my subordinates opened the villa door, the place was empty—not even a trace that anyone had ever lived there. I also took people south, searching every port, airport, and coastal town. No Lily. Five months passed. Every report I received carried the same result. Luna not found. Xavier and Victor had not given up either. They suspended most pack affairs and personally led people searching everywhere. Xavier

  • The Pregnant Luna Who Faked Her Death   Chapter 5

Wilson’s POV “Lily!!!” I watched with my own eyes as she fell from the second floor, her figure completely swallowed by the flames. The hand I had stretched out froze in mid-air. I had not even managed to grasp her last finger. “Lily!!!” I charged toward the railing like a madman, only to be forced back by a collapsing beam. “Wilson!” Xavier and Victor rushed over, both deathly pale, eyes bloodshot. Xavier’s voice trembled. “Lily… Lily is pregnant!” Regret instantly drowned me. Lily was carrying my puppy. And I had not even known when she became pregnant. Only a few hours earlier I had still been thinking that once Vivian gave birth to the heir, I would bring Lily back. I had still told her to wait a little longer. I had believed she would stand in place and wait for me the way she had for the past fifteen years. “Put out the fire! Hurry and put out the fire!” Firefighters finally arrived; water jets poured into the burning banquet hall. I shoved asi
