Derrick's POV

The clock on my desk read 10:03 PM when my office door finally opened.

"I am finished," Eliana announced, stepping inside and closing the door behind her with a soft click.

As she turned, the black dress she wore shifted and clung to her curves in ways that made my pulse quicken. Heat pooled low in my belly as an unbidden image flashed through my mind—her straddling my lap, my hands tangled in her hair while I claimed her mouth completely. I shifted in my chair and forced the thought away before my body could betray me again.

"Well, are you not a sight for sore eyes?" I leaned back in my chair, letting my gaze travel over her slowly.

Color bloomed across her cheeks as she approached my desk, her eyes fixed on anything except my face. She placed the papers in front of me with hands that trembled slightly.

Even without reading them, I could tell from the neat handwriting and careful formatting that she had exceeded my expectations. She always did.

"It is chilly outside, is it not?" I asked, noting the black jacket now covering the dress I had been admiring all evening.

"I am leaving now. Goodnight, Professor Matthews." She turned toward the door with obvious haste.

"Wait." I rose from my chair, my voice carrying just enough authority to make her pause. "How about you keep me company for a little while? I will be finished here soon."

Something flickered in her eyes when she turned back—interest, maybe desire—but it vanished so quickly I might have imagined it. "I do not think that is necessary. I really need to get home. It looks like it might rain."

"Indulge me, Eliana." I moved toward the small cabinet across the room, keeping my movements deliberate and unhurried. "I have been saving a very good bottle of wine for a special occasion. And good wine is always better when shared."

"But this is not a special occasion," she pointed out, though her voice lacked conviction.

"It could be." I located the bottle I wanted and carried it to my desk, never taking my eyes off her for more than a few seconds. She had not moved toward the door, which I took as encouragement.

"I really need to go." The urgency in her voice only made me move faster.

I set the wine down and crossed to where she stood by the door, her hand already reaching for the handle. My palm covered hers before she could turn it.

"Stay with me, Eliana. I know you want to." My voice dropped to barely above a whisper. "Are you really going to deny yourself what you want?"

She looked up at me, and I saw her catch her bottom lip between her teeth—a gesture that sent electricity straight through me. Raw desire flickered in her hazel eyes, barely concealed beneath her attempts at propriety.

Gently, I took her hand away from the door handle and guided her toward the chair across from my desk. She offered no resistance, moving like someone in a trance.

The lock engaged with a satisfying click as I turned the key. I slipped it into my jeans pocket, the metal warm against my fingers.

Eliana sat in silence, watching as I cleared space on my desk and produced two wine glasses. I could feel the weight of her gaze as I uncorked the bottle with practiced efficiency, the rich burgundy liquid catching the lamplight as I poured.

"Here." I handed her a glass, making sure our fingers brushed as she took it from me. The contact sent a jolt up my arm.

"Go ahead, taste it. But do not rush." I raised my own glass and watched her over the rim as she brought hers to her lips.

"Mmm." The soft moan that escaped her throat made my grip tighten on my glass. Her eyes widened in surprise and pleasure.

"It is good, is it not?" I could not help but smile at her reaction. "Let me refill that for you."

"It is more than good." She handed me her empty glass with both hands, steadier now. "God, I have never tasted anything this exquisite."

*If only you could taste your own lips.*

"I have been saving this wine for almost two years. It was a gift, but I never found the right moment to open it." I filled her glass again, more generously this time. "Until tonight."

She brought the wine to her lips immediately, drinking deeper than before. The alcohol was clearly beginning to relax her—I could see it in the way her shoulders had lost their rigid set, how she no longer avoided my eyes.

When she drained the glass completely, I refilled it without being asked.

Wind rattled the window behind me, starting as a whisper and building to something more insistent. Eliana glanced toward the sound, then back at me. "I think it is going to rain. I should go now."

I knew I had pushed as far as I dared tonight. With a resigned sigh, I stood and reached into my pocket for the key.

My fingers found nothing but fabric.

Confused, I searched more thoroughly, checking every corner and seam. Nothing.

"What is wrong?" Concern crept into Eliana's voice.

"I cannot find my key." I searched my other pockets with growing urgency. "I put it right here after I locked the door, but it is not there now."

I retraced my steps to the door, scanning the floor carefully. Outside, the wind had intensified, and the first drops of rain began pattering against the glass.

"Wait, I have a spare," I announced, relief flooding through me.

Eliana gathered her bag and stood while I moved to the flowerpot by the window where I usually kept my backup key. I lifted the ceramic base and swept my hand across the surface beneath.

Empty.

Then I remembered—I had given it to the cleaning woman yesterday when I knew I would be out of the office. She had not returned it yet.

"I am sorry, but I cannot find the spare either," I said, turning back to face her.

Rain began in earnest then, drumming against the windows with increasing force. The sound filled the silence between us.

"We will just have to wait here until the rain stops and we can find another solution," I said, keeping my voice carefully neutral.

She considered this for several seconds, her teeth worrying her lower lip. Finally, she gave a small nod and returned to her chair.

"More wine?" I asked as I settled back into my own seat.

"Yes. Thank you."

I filled her glass but left my own empty. The office suddenly felt smaller, more intimate. The lamplight cast golden shadows across her face, highlighting the elegant line of her neck, the way her dark hair fell across her shoulder.

Outside, the storm showed no signs of letting up.

It was going to be a very long night.

  • The Professor's Beautiful Secret   Chapter 200

Eliana’s POV After the day at the beach when Derrick had broached the subject of marriage, I found myself unable to think about anything else. At home, on my way to school, in class, and anywhere else that I could find myself. Thoughts of getting married to Derrick lived rent free in my head and my heart fluttered happily anytime they did. “What?” Annabelle exclaimed, her face brightening as I told her about it. It had been four days since the day Derrick and I went to the beach. I tried to hold back on telling her for a while, until I was able to talk about it without blushing like a fool and feeling like an over congested bag of emotions. But four days was all I could manage. “Yup. He did that,” I said to her as we headed to her house. Derrick wasn’t going to be at home since it was still early in the afternoon. And the last thing I wanted was to sit alone with my thoughts at home. A part of me wished he hadn’t talked about marriage but only because thoughts of it were driving m

  • The Professor's Beautiful Secret   Chapter 199

Derrick’s POV On a sunny afternoon, two weeks after the dramatic series of events that led to Bob being fired and me gaining a promotion, Eliana and I lay side by side at the Markstown beach, watching the waves tackling a group of surfers and failing at it. My hand rested idly on Eliana’s thigh but I wished it was deep between her legs instead. The orange bikini she had on made her body a murder weapon and at one point, I lost count of the number of gazes she’d received since we arrived at the beach. Even women weren’t left out in the ogling. But I didn’t feel the least bit jealous. Not at all. I felt proud instead, proud that she was my girl and I would be the only one that knew fully well what she tasted like. Felt like. “What’s on your mind?” Her voice broke into my thoughts. She was now sitting upright on the beach lounger, one of her manicured hands holding a novel that she’d barely paid attention to in the one hour we’d spent there. I stared at her, saying nothing at first.

  • The Professor's Beautiful Secret   Chapter 198

Derrick’s POV I was full of joy and energy as I made my way into work that morning. Life felt better than it had been in months. If I had known that being free of Susan was going to feel this good, then I would have pushed harder for the divorce long since. With the whole thing settled, it felt like a heavy weight had been lifted off my chest that I’d become so used to carrying. I felt liberated. Powerful. But that wasn’t the only reason for that. Hell, it wasn’t the main reason either. It was Eliana. Everything about her. Her presence, her voice, her love… everything. It was as if we’d recently unlocked something new in each other that was overly beautiful and fulfilling. And the fact that there wasn’t anything present that pose even the slightest threat to that just made the whole thing altogether pleasant. With her, I felt like I had achieved something no other man had ever did. For the past few days, we’d been unable to keep our hands off each other. We had sex anywhere and anyt

  • The Professor's Beautiful Secret   Chapter 197

Eliana’s POV Derrick was ruthless as he thrust his thick cock into me from behind. I cried out, gripping the headrest of the carseat fiercely. I could feel myself expanding around him, welcoming the invasion from his fleshy length. Waves of pleasure crashed over me. I moaned helplessly, holding on to the headrest as if it could save me from Derrick’s eager thrust. His skin slapped against mine as he continued ramming his cock into my pussy. It was exactly what I needed. Wanted. Desired. Moan after moan broke free from me, my mouth hanging open as I got lost in the ecstasy that came from having him drive his cock into me. His hand curled underneath me, grabbing my breasts through my gown. But he seemed to be unsatisfied with that as he was yanking down the zip of my gown a second later. The bodice hung loose around my neck as he set it free. His hand found my bare breasts as he pushed himself into me with a powerful stroke. “Derrick…” I whimpered. If the sound that escaped my mouth c

  • The Professor's Beautiful Secret   Chapter 196

Eliana’s POV Derrick eyes suddenly darkened with desire. I left his hand inside my gown and brought my hand back up to continue eating. But he wasn’t having any of it. He withdrew his hand in a flash and stood. “Get up.”“What?” I looked at him with genuine confusion. “Up, babygirl. We’re leaving.” His tone was calm but his eyes were not. They were raw with a desire so fierce that my heart began to race at the thought of what was in store for me. “But I’m not done eating.” I looked down at what was left in my plate. “I say we are.” Scanning the restaurant with his eyes, he gestured to one of the waiters. The waiter appeared in less than five seconds. “Sir?”“I would like the check, please.” Derrick’s voice was calm. Too calm. The waiter disappeared and replaced with the check which Derrick promptly paid off. Then he took my elbow. His grip was firm but he was gentle as he helped me to my feet. Looking into his eyes, I could just how much restraint it cost for him to be that con

  • The Professor's Beautiful Secret   Chapter 195

Eliana’s POV The world must have paused as Derrick and I entered the restaurant. The scattered sounds of animated chatter that previously occupied the small space died away in a moment’s breath, leaving only the cool music playing in the background. Even the waiters that were milling around paused temporarily. All attention was on me and Derrick as we walked between the rows of tables. I suddenly felt exposed, having so many eyes watching me for what felt like forever. But I couldn’t take the credit for the silence alone. Not when Derrick was also looking charming in his black tuxedo that gave him the aura of an important dignitary. His black and grey hair was neatly combed to one side, adding extra points to the one his beautiful blue eyes and well sculpted face had given him. “Everyone’s staring,” I whispered as he led me towards the table he’s reserved for us. “Let them stare. That’s all they can do,” he said smugly. Contrary to that, his grip around my waist tightened, as if he

Eliana’s POV Derrick arrived just a few minutes before 12. By then, I was almost dying in anticipation of what the surprise was. I found it a little bit strange that I could be that excited about whatever he was about to show me. I hated surprises and I didn’t like people springing them on me. But

Derrick’s POV Seeing the level of joy in Eliana’s eyes after breaking the news to her gave me the same rush of satisfaction I would have experienced if I’d just been given a very special gift. Eliana’s POV I blamed Derrick for what happened, and at the same time, I also didn’t blame him. I blamed him because I was sure there were better ways he could have handled his shit with Susan that would totally erase any hope that she could still fight for him. Just like there had also been oppor
