Derrick's POV

The clock on my desk read 10:03 PM when my office door finally opened.

"I am finished," Eliana announced, stepping inside and closing the door behind her with a soft click.

As she turned, the black dress she wore shifted and clung to her curves in ways that made my pulse quicken. Heat pooled low in my belly as an unbidden image flashed through my mind—her straddling my lap, my hands tangled in her hair while I claimed her mouth completely. I shifted in my chair and forced the thought away before my body could betray me again.

"Well, are you not a sight for sore eyes?" I leaned back in my chair, letting my gaze travel over her slowly.

Color bloomed across her cheeks as she approached my desk, her eyes fixed on anything except my face. She placed the papers in front of me with hands that trembled slightly.

Even without reading them, I could tell from the neat handwriting and careful formatting that she had exceeded my expectations. She always did.

"It is chilly outside, is it not?" I asked, noting the black jacket now covering the dress I had been admiring all evening.

"I am leaving now. Goodnight, Professor Matthews." She turned toward the door with obvious haste.

"Wait." I rose from my chair, my voice carrying just enough authority to make her pause. "How about you keep me company for a little while? I will be finished here soon."

Something flickered in her eyes when she turned back—interest, maybe desire—but it vanished so quickly I might have imagined it. "I do not think that is necessary. I really need to get home. It looks like it might rain."

"Indulge me, Eliana." I moved toward the small cabinet across the room, keeping my movements deliberate and unhurried. "I have been saving a very good bottle of wine for a special occasion. And good wine is always better when shared."

"But this is not a special occasion," she pointed out, though her voice lacked conviction.

"It could be." I located the bottle I wanted and carried it to my desk, never taking my eyes off her for more than a few seconds. She had not moved toward the door, which I took as encouragement.

"I really need to go." The urgency in her voice only made me move faster.

I set the wine down and crossed to where she stood by the door, her hand already reaching for the handle. My palm covered hers before she could turn it.

"Stay with me, Eliana. I know you want to." My voice dropped to barely above a whisper. "Are you really going to deny yourself what you want?"

She looked up at me, and I saw her catch her bottom lip between her teeth—a gesture that sent electricity straight through me. Raw desire flickered in her hazel eyes, barely concealed beneath her attempts at propriety.

Gently, I took her hand away from the door handle and guided her toward the chair across from my desk. She offered no resistance, moving like someone in a trance.

The lock engaged with a satisfying click as I turned the key. I slipped it into my jeans pocket, the metal warm against my fingers.

Eliana sat in silence, watching as I cleared space on my desk and produced two wine glasses. I could feel the weight of her gaze as I uncorked the bottle with practiced efficiency, the rich burgundy liquid catching the lamplight as I poured.

"Here." I handed her a glass, making sure our fingers brushed as she took it from me. The contact sent a jolt up my arm.

"Go ahead, taste it. But do not rush." I raised my own glass and watched her over the rim as she brought hers to her lips.

"Mmm." The soft moan that escaped her throat made my grip tighten on my glass. Her eyes widened in surprise and pleasure.

"It is good, is it not?" I could not help but smile at her reaction. "Let me refill that for you."

"It is more than good." She handed me her empty glass with both hands, steadier now. "God, I have never tasted anything this exquisite."

*If only you could taste your own lips.*

"I have been saving this wine for almost two years. It was a gift, but I never found the right moment to open it." I filled her glass again, more generously this time. "Until tonight."

She brought the wine to her lips immediately, drinking deeper than before. The alcohol was clearly beginning to relax her—I could see it in the way her shoulders had lost their rigid set, how she no longer avoided my eyes.

When she drained the glass completely, I refilled it without being asked.

Wind rattled the window behind me, starting as a whisper and building to something more insistent. Eliana glanced toward the sound, then back at me. "I think it is going to rain. I should go now."

I knew I had pushed as far as I dared tonight. With a resigned sigh, I stood and reached into my pocket for the key.

My fingers found nothing but fabric.

Confused, I searched more thoroughly, checking every corner and seam. Nothing.

"What is wrong?" Concern crept into Eliana's voice.

"I cannot find my key." I searched my other pockets with growing urgency. "I put it right here after I locked the door, but it is not there now."

I retraced my steps to the door, scanning the floor carefully. Outside, the wind had intensified, and the first drops of rain began pattering against the glass.

"Wait, I have a spare," I announced, relief flooding through me.

Eliana gathered her bag and stood while I moved to the flowerpot by the window where I usually kept my backup key. I lifted the ceramic base and swept my hand across the surface beneath.

Empty.

Then I remembered—I had given it to the cleaning woman yesterday when I knew I would be out of the office. She had not returned it yet.

"I am sorry, but I cannot find the spare either," I said, turning back to face her.

Rain began in earnest then, drumming against the windows with increasing force. The sound filled the silence between us.

"We will just have to wait here until the rain stops and we can find another solution," I said, keeping my voice carefully neutral.

She considered this for several seconds, her teeth worrying her lower lip. Finally, she gave a small nod and returned to her chair.

"More wine?" I asked as I settled back into my own seat.

"Yes. Thank you."

I filled her glass but left my own empty. The office suddenly felt smaller, more intimate. The lamplight cast golden shadows across her face, highlighting the elegant line of her neck, the way her dark hair fell across her shoulder.

Outside, the storm showed no signs of letting up.

It was going to be a very long night.

  • The Professor's Beautiful Secret   Chapter 183

Eliana’s POV I woke up with a smile that morning. The first thought that came to my mind as soon as I opened my eyes was how good a job I’d done in giving Derrick a blowjob. And at that, my smile became even wider. Hopefully, it would be enough to get him to forgive me for keeping my knowledge of Patrick’s crime a secret from him. To increase the chances of that, I decided to prepare something he would love for breakfast. As I got up from the bed, I looked down at him as he lay sprawled on the bed. He was peacefully asleep, his chest rising and falling in a slow rhythm. The bedsheets only covered one of his legs and that left his crotch and the other leg exposed. His cock was perfectly on display and I couldn’t help but to lick my lips as my gaze fell to it. For several moments, I battled with the temptation to go over to him and knock him out with another blowjob. But I eventually discarded the idea, although reluctantly, and left for the kitchen instead. While I was boiling water

  • The Professor's Beautiful Secret   Chapter 182

Derrick’s POV If it was possible, then Eliana could have easily murdered me with her mouth. She sucked my cock with such passion that I almost felt my soul leaving my body. Heat enveloped me all over and the feeling that I was floating on clouds became even more intense. More overwhelming. And she just continued gliding her mouth up and down my shaft, using her wet, slick tongue to work wonders on me. Her saliva coated my cock all around, making it much more sensitive and making me susceptible to the pleasure her warm mouth offered. I moaned louder as she began to pick up the pace, a clear sign that she was ready to finish me off. It was pure bliss, having my cock buried in the pleasant confines of her mouth. She maintained a perfect rhythm that sent flames of pleasure burning through my body in waves. Tension quickly gathered in my belly. My toes curled and uncurled and I gripped the sheets harder than ever, as if it could save me from the delicious torture of Eliana’s mouth. I mo

  • The Professor's Beautiful Secret   Chapter 181

Derrick’s POVIt was late at night when I returned to the house. By then, Annabelle was gone and Eliana was nowhere in the living room. Locking and bolting the front door, I turned off the lights in the living room. After that, I did the kitchen, then I headed to the bedroom with only the hallway lights left on. Thanks to me going a little too hard on the whiskey, I felt a little bit lightheaded and empty of all the anger I’d been carrying in my chest v before I left the house. Whiskey sure knew how to put a man at ease, doesn’t it?Eliana was in bed when I entered the bedroom. Although it seemed like she was asleep, she sat up immediately I set foot into the room. Guilt was written all over her face, along with traces of fear that shone in her eyes. For the past hour, I’d somehow managed to take my mind completely off anything that had go do with her. But as soon as our gazes met, the memory of her betrayal came rushing. I paused for a bit, eyes locked on hers, and I considered retu

  • The Professor's Beautiful Secret   Chapter 180

Derrick’s POVAfter the detective took his leave, the uneasy feeling his presence had given me remained imprinted in my soul. And the exchange between him and Eliana made it even more intense. Closing the door, I returned to the living room to meet her and Annabelle huddled together. They both jerked apart the moment I appeared but I wasn’t going to be fooled. “What are you hiding from me?” I asked Eliana who was already rising to her feet. The forced smile on her face faded instantly. She opened her mouth to answer but I interrupted before she could. “Whatever you’re saying, let it be the truth. And trust me, I’ll know if you’re lying.”She stayed silent for several seconds after that. Before she spoke again, she looked over to Annabelle who nodded her head in encouragement. “Just tell me what the hell it is,” I snapped. She made eye contact with me but only briefly. “Uhm, I–we–I found out yesterday that… Pa–Patrick was behind the assault.” “What?” So shocking was the revelat

  • The Professor's Beautiful Secret   Chapter 179

Eliana’s POV I spotted the detective at the exact moment I entered the living room. Annabelle, who was right behind me, did the same thing too. She’d been bored at home and she’d jumped up to follow me as soon as I was ready to leave her apartment. On the way, we spotted someone we immediately concluded was a cop interrogating someone in the street. And that had brought thoughts of the detective in charge of Derrick’s case to mind. The same detective that was now standing in the living room, interrogating Derrick no doubt. I could sense the uneasiness in the air as we walked into the house. Even worse, I could see the look of discomfort on Derrick’s face, along with something I could swear was anger. But it was hard to tell. “Miss Hart,” the detective said with an enthusiasm that I assumed he’d spent years practicing. “It’s a good thing you’re here. Who’s your friend?”Annabelle beat me to an answer. “Hi. I’m Annabelle. Annabelle Thorne.”The eagerness in her voice prompted me to n

  • The Professor's Beautiful Secret   Chapter 178

Derrick’s POV Heading home from the grocery store almost an hour later, I arrived at the conclusion that I was the biggest fool in the world. I wasn’t really surprised that had turned down my proposal, but the manner in which he did it was what added to my irritation. All I'd asked him to do was to convince Susan to take the initial deal regarding our divorce. His immediate reaction to that was a brief, sinister laughter that made me want to pummel him, regardless of the injuries I was still nursing. A knowing look appeared in his eyes then. “You want to hit me? Go ahead.” Both his tone and the expression on his face was challenging. “I’ll pass,” I said reluctantly. “Just tell Susan to agree to the damn terms if she knows what’s good for her. Or I won’t mind taking her ass to court and kicking it there if I have to. You care about her, don’t you?”“Of course. More than you do, obviously.” The corner of his lips went up into an evil smirk following that. “Which is why I asked her no

Derrick’s POV I could tell that Eliana's mood had changed. It happened right after I asked her about her childhood.
