Chapter 6: Tour

Claire's POV:

After setting up the desk I start fixing all of my art supplies in between the two windows.

"Do you like the room?" Charles asked me.

"Very much" I said nodding my head.

"Good, Im glad" he said smiling at me causing me to smile back.

"Why do you guys have this room, if everyone's supposed to be in divisions?" I asked him.

"Well, when I started teaching here a few years ago I designed it" he stated like it was nothing.

"What?" I questioned him "then why are you letting me stay here?" I asked.

"Well, I made it for my mate, but I never found her" he said sighing "so I thought it deserved to get some good use anyway" he stated shrugging his shoulders.

"What's a mate?" I asked looking back at him.

"I forgot you don't know anything" he said quietly.

"Sorry" I whispered looking down towards the floor.

"No, don't be, I apologize I shouldn't have said it like that" he said.

"It's alright" I replied looking up at him through my eye lashes.

"A mate is someone your destined to be with" he started.

"We all have it, its like this weird pull towards someone else, like a never ending want that completes you" he said looking at me and taking a big breath.

"But you said you didn't find it, what about your wife?" I asked confused.

"Yes, Amelia is my wife and I love her but its not the same" he said looking down at the ground "a way to explain it would be to say that she's my chosen mate but not my fated mate if that makes since" he said and I nod my head in understanding.

"That makes sense" I stated while he looked at me.

"Anyway, all species have it but its towards their own species, its the best for survival instincts or at least that's what we're told" he said.

"Is it always the same species?" I ask wanting more information.

"That's the only thing that we're taught, so I suppose so" he said shrugging his shoulders.

"Oh" he exclaimed grabbing a piece of paper from his pocket "classes start Monday so Im going to give you your schedule, map and a tour of the school" he stated unfolding the pieces of paper.

"Alright, lets go" he said handing me the papers.

For the next hour we walked around the school, he showed me everything from the classrooms to the dinning room.

"We have one last stop" he said looking down at me "the training grounds" he finished leading me to a set of double doors.

He pushes the doors open and we walk outside "it circles around the whole campus" he said causing my eyes to widen.

We now stood in a large open field with different equipment but at the edge of it there was nothing but tree's causing my breathing to get heavier.

'Great, Im in the middle of fucking no where in a circle surrounded by tree's surrounded by a bunch of fucking psychos' I thought to myself feeling a bit claustrophobic.

"Let's go back inside" Charles said watching as I bite my lip in anger.

"Okay" I gritted out while following him back in and towards my room.

Going inside I walk over towards the fort and sit down pulling out a box and opening the lid.

Looking through the photos inside of it I begin taking some out and hanging them up with the twinkle lights.

"Are you okay?" Charles asked me and I look up at him plastering a believable smile on my face.

"Of course I am" I said and his shoulders relaxed a little at my response.

"So you have six different courses" he stated and I nodded my head.

"Yeah, but you said the other's only have two to four" I stated before making eye contact with him "why do I have so much more?" I asked him.

"Since we don't know what you are we will have to teach you the courses for every section" he stated and I nodded my head in understanding.

"Alright" I stated.

"Since its Friday students are in class or in their dorms so you don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to, but you'll start attending class as of Monday" he stated.

Taking a deep breath I nod my head "I understand" I replied.

"Is there anything you want for the room, I'll get it for you" he said causing my eyes to widen in surprise.

"You don't need to do anything like that Charles" I said shaking my head.

"And why is that?" he questioned me his voice a little bit more stern then normal as he stood up.

"You've done more then enough" I said looking up at him "you helped me a lot, and protected me from Elias I don't need more" I said softly causing his eye's to soften.

"I want to help as much as I can, your going through a lot with the way he was treating you was wrong, you deserve better" he stated causing tear to well up in my eye's a little bit.

"Hey, I didn't mean to make you sad" he said walking over to me and placing his hands on my shoulders but I shake my head.

"No, Im good" I said wiping my eyes.

"Im just not used to people caring so much, unless they're my parents" I said letting out an airy laugh.

"What do you mean?" I asked confusion swimming through his eye's as he stared at me.

"Nothing you need to worry about" I stated with a small smile.

"Okay" he said hesitantly as he let go of me.

He looked around the room in thought before smirking "I'll be back" he stated before walking to the door.

"Okay?" I said in a questioning tone as he exited the room.

After about thirty minutes I begin to feel tired and ended up falling asleep.

A loud bang causes me to jump and shoot up from my laying position, Charles stops and looks at me with a nervous smile.

"Sorry" he whispered placing a small table down.

"What are you doing?" I asked looking around and seeing more furniture in the room.

"Umm, just setting up a bit more" he stated.

"I told you I didn't need anything else, you've done so much already" I said shaking my head while standing up off of the floor.

"Sorry, but not sorry" he said.

"You act like a giant child" I said rolling my eyes.

"Hey Im 23, that's only 6 years older then you I am still kind of a child" he said like it was obvious as he smirked at me.

"You're still a boss, you should act a bit more mature" I said walking closer to touch the black leather couch.

"I'm not normally like this" he said.

"Aw, so I'm special" I said placing my hand over my heart causing him to be the one rolling his eye's this time.

"You do have nice taste though" I said looking at the couch causing him to smile cockily.

"Of course I do" he stated raising his eyebrows at me.

He then brought in a mini fridge to store some food.

My phone was brought in, along with my laptop and dvd's causing me to smile.

For the rest of the night Charles and I sat on the couch watching movies and eating food.
