CHAPTER 6 - Ian Fullerton

Alpha Ian Fullerton of The Rebel Rogues, looked up from his desk when he heard a knock on the door of his office. He ordered the one knocking on the door to come in and he saw that it was his beta, Anthony Madison.

Anthony is a tall, muscular-built guy with dark hair and dark eyes. He has a scar on his face, running from the bottom of his right eye down to his chin. He looks formidable alone with that look and he had used it to his advantage.

“Langston has just returned,” Anthony informed after he closed the door. “He’s waiting outside and wants to speak to you.”

Ian leaned back on his chair, clasping his hands in deep thought.

“How is he?”

“He’s still hungry for power,” Anthony answered seriously. “The disgrace and banishment that he received from his pack seems to be the one fueling his drive for it. If I was on his shoes, I would rather be killed than having that trademark for the rest of my life.”

“That’s why I still don’t understand your reason why you decided to accept him and his followers to our pack five years ago,” he added, looking at his alpha. “We don’t need members, who will eventually betray us in the end. Langston has that trait in him.”

“Let me take care of that, Tony,” Ian assured as he stood up. He went to the window of his office, which has a full view of the training site. “For now, the pack needs his hunger for power. It will be beneficial to us. Let him come in once you leave.”

Ian waited until he could smell the young wolf’s scent when he entered his office.

“Did your plan succeed?” He asked calmly.

“Yes, Alpha,” the firm and cold voice of Conrad Langston replied a few seconds after. “I’m pretty sure that my brother has received the message that I sent him.”

“Good to know,” Ian commented, and he turned towards him. He looked patiently at the thirty-year-old disgrace son of his long-time foe, Theo Langston of The Night Howlers, who came to his pack and sought refuge years ago. “Don’t be complacent and you continue what you need to do. Do you have any idea why he went towards the human territory?”

Conrad nodded.

“From what my men had gathered, it has something to do with the prophecy that we have been hearing,” he answered slowly. “My brother seems to be looking for that wolf less girl and he thinks that she is hiding in human territory.”

“So, I’ve heard,” Ian muttered as he sat back on his chair. He gestured for the young wolf to occupy the vacant seat in front. “That prophecy has long been foretold and up to now there is still no update about it except that it was turned into a story. Suddenly, your brother became interested.”

“I encountered another wolf there, Alpha,” Conrad then brought up. “A female wolf, who seemed to have no idea that we existed.”

Ian looked at him sharply.

“How sure are you that she has wolf blood?!” He scoffed.

“Her scent was very domineering,” Conrad explained patiently. “She managed to turn and looked into my eyes and for a while I was hooked by her gaze.”

“Could she be your new mate?” Ian asked.

Conrad shook his head.

“There was no connection but my mind my screaming that I can make her mine if I want to. She’s young and had a refreshing scent, Alpha,” he described calmly. “And, she had crystal blue eyes and long white hair.”

Ian immediately looked up at the description. The description of the hair made his mind immediately wandered to a certain pack that he knows only them can possess. “I’ll have Anthony look into that,” he said after a while. “But, for now, I want you to take ten of your men and head South. The Beta of The Savage Keepers will meet with you for our next raid.”

“Yes, Alpha,” Conrad replied. “I will take my leave now. Thank you for this opportunity to prove myself to you.”

The older man only waved him off and immediately linked with his Beta. “Tony, I want you to head North along with three of our best warriors,” he instructed. He thought for a while, his thoughts of the things he heard about the prophecy and what Conrad had told him. “And send another three to human territory where the brothers had met.”

“For what reason, Alpha?” Anthony replied.

“Looks like the prophecy we had been hearing will finally come to fruition.”

Three years later… Clayton watched anxiously as Amarah breathed in and out as she is clutching his hand tightly on a very early Thursday morning in their room, at his house. He watched as she closed her eyes and tried to control the pain that she is going through right now. “Oh, God, that’s worst,” Amarah finally stated. “You also said the last one was worst,” Clayton countered as he wiped the beads of perspiration on her forehead. “Are you just trying to pacify me? It’s not working, I’m telling you that.” “You’re the one who put this on me,” Amarah teased him with a smile. Clayton stared at her dumbfoundedly. “Amarah, if I knew that I will be going through this as well, I would have waited a little bit more before putting that child in you,” he argued lightly. “I am not ready to go through this process.” That earned a laugh from Matt, who is sitting on one side of the room and patiently monitoring Amarah’s condition. Clayton gave him a good glare. He turned back to his wife, w

“Open your eyes, Amarah.”Amarah opened her eyes and turned towards the voice. She slowly sat up and came face to face with the most beautiful woman she had ever seen in her life. The woman looking back at her has long and thick blond hair that is way past her waist. She had clear and bright honey-gold eyes that are currently staring at her lovingly that goes perfectly well with her beautiful face. A long and pointed nose, round firm cheeks and full rosy lips. She is wearing a glittery silver floor length dress and there is something about her that made Amarah realized who she is staring at.“Oh my goodness!” Amarah exclaimed and she immediately got down on one knee on the floor and placed a fist on her heart. “My apologies for not recognizing you immediately, Goddess Selene.”“You did good, my child,” Selene said.Amarah raised her face towards her when the goddess cupped her chin. She smiled sadly. “I could have done more,” she answered softly. “But I guess I overexerted myself that

Clayton with thick tears in his eyes stood, clenching his fists tightly and watched as the fire slowly crawled up and make its way to Amarah, immediately surrounding her body. He breathed out heavily and felt his mother’s hand on his back, gently comforting him.I love you, my Amarah, he thought in his mind intently.Slowly, as if his own feet have their own brain, he took steps towards the platform until he is only a few feet away. His mother followed behind him and stayed behind his back as the heat being emitted from the fire increases. As the fire started to crawl over her body, he felt a strong gust of wind blowing at them. His mother hugged his arm and buried her face in his back until it subsided. He turned to make sure that she is okay before looking back at the fire.Another gust of wind strongly passed by and it passed directly through the fire.“What the heck -?!” He heard Gabriel from behind exclaimed. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, a strong and blinding light shot down

Gabriel, with his hands inside the pockets of his jacket stared down quietly and intently at Catherine’s tomb. His eyes wandered towards the words written on her white, marble epitaph and he gripped his fists tightly. “Life is not Forever. But LOVE is.” He glanced up a bit when he heard a howl in the air, signifying the end of the mourning period. For Amarah. Instead of the tradition’s usual five days of mourning, King Atticus had decreed that the observation of mourning for Amarah will be extended for two more days. This is because of the influx of wolves from all over the kingdom that wanted to pay their last respects to the Saville woman, who had unselfishly given her all to treat those who needed her help. And it has been seven days as well that Gabriel has been visiting his mate’s tomb and would just stand there for hours without saying anything. Gabriel heard some rustling behind and he raised his head up and waited. “Everyone’s starting to gather at the grounds,” Conrad i

Amarah stared up at the ceiling, breathing slowly and deeply. She turned weakly at the sound of the door opening and as hard it is for her, her lips raised upwards into a smile when she saw Clayton entering the room.“H-Hey,” she called out, raising her hand.Clayton immediately went to her side and clasped her hand, bringing it to his lips and kissing it gently. He sat down on the chair by the bed and looked at her lovingly, his eyes red.“You… You look beautiful,” Clayton said achingly.“Thank you,” she whispered. She coughed lightly and then took a deep breath. “Matt said… Matt said that I’m going to be okay. He told me that I just needed to rest so I can recover all the strength that I had lost.”“You shouldn’t have worked hard,” Clayton only whispered.Amarah reached for his cheek with her other hand.“I-I’m sorry,” she apologized gently. “But I did w-what I needed to do. The howling roar of rage filled the air as Clayton rushed towards Amarah, catching her in his arms before she had completely hit the ground. His eyes burned with anger and fear as blood started to soak her clothing.Conrad, shocked at what had just happened turned towards the direction and when he saw Anthony Madison, with a triumphant smile on his face, transformed immediately to Magnus and lunged towards him, pinning him on the ground and another fight had ensued. The pack members vacated the area, pulling away any injured warriors. They could hear Magnus growling and tearing the enemy apart and a few minutes later, several Gamma warriors had joined him.“Amarah!” Clayton yelled as he reached for the dagger, which he knew for sure has been dipped in Wolfsbane. “No! No! No!”“Clayton, don’t pull it out!” Jacklyn yelled as she knelt beside him. “Let me do it!”“Stay awake, Amarah,” Clayton stated over and over again as he adjusted his position so that Amarah is lying straight in his a
