Bombshell

"We've got a problem, Alpha Connor." Jack, his driver, informed him.

He sat up on the chair immediately. Had something happened to Carolina? Or had she escaped?

He wouldn't put that past her but it wasn't possible. He had men who would collect her and drive her down to his place immediately.

He took safety measures to prevent that immediately after he left her house the day before.

"What is the problem?" He was alarmed.

"Liliana arrived a few minutes ago and she is inside with Carolina." He said.

"What is she doing there?!" He gasped.

"We thought she had your permission, sir." Jack said.

"And you left her there? Go in and stay with them till I come. You know how Liliana can be." He gave instructions before hanging up.

What was Liliana doing there? He knew what she was capable of doing. He retrieved his suit from the suit hanger immediately and dashed out of the office.

Carolina stared at the brown-haired beauty before her. Her feminine perfume announced her presence as it wafted into Carolina's nostrils causing her lips to curl upwards.

She walked in through the entryway and folded her arms while sizing Carolina up with hateful eyes.

The woman’s brown hair was pulled up into a tight bun and she was wearing black skinny jeans, a blue and yellow floral tank top, and a red blazer.

She wore black heels and looked like a model.

Her eyes were cold. Cold as ice and full of disdain. Carolina's jaw tightened.

Carolina had never seen someone so beautiful and yet so intimidating. She watched as the lady's eyes swept over her body, stopping on the red dress Carolina wore before finally meeting her gaze. However, she wasn't intimidated.

"Connor isn't home." Carolina told her.

The other woman laughed mirthlessly as Carolina watched in confusion. Should she have said something else?

"Of course, I know that. I am not here for Connor. I am here for you, you slut." Liliana lashed out at her.

Carolina flinched and her face wrinkled in confusion. Who was this? Why would she look for her? She tried casting her mind back to remember if she had ever seen her before.

Liliana had decided to put up a fight. She had waited her whole life to be with Connor. And she had even pleaded with him to not call the relationship off. She was ready to do anything for him.

He refused blatantly giving her a stupid excuse.

'It's not you. It's me. I don't just feel the connection.'

It was then she knew someone else now had his attention. Who was it?

She had waited to be his Luna while she even boasted to her friends about it.

It would be a disgrace if they heard that she had fallen from his favor. She had to do something to stake her claim.

It didn't take her one day to find out. Money as always did the trick and her informant in the house rolled the words off her lips without pressure.

She was livid that the man she had loved could send her out because of a fling. What irked her the most was the fact that the lady wasn't classy. What else did Connor want?

Carolina stood tall and proud as the woman strode forward towards her. There was no need to be afraid. She hadn't done anything wrong. If anyone needed to leave, the lady needed to leave.

She didn't even bother introducing herself. Not that she cared anyway. The lady's face was contorted in an ugly sneer, lips peeled back over white teeth that gleamed like daggers in the early morning light.

"You know why I'm here, bitch."

"Really?" Carolina retorted.

She was barely able to keep her anger on a leash.

The lady was really testing her patience. Carolina was full and needed someone to vent her anger on. If the lady irked her, she would have no choice but to give her a good thrashing.

Where was Connor? She hoped he would get here before a fight ensued between them. For his sake and for the lady's sake.

"I wonder why Connor chose to be with someone like you. You have no class. Your cloth is outdated and even your perfume is cheap. Where did he get you from?"

Carolina's shoulders stiffened, hands tightening at her sides. Her jaw clenched tightly, brows furrowing. She could feel a deep-seated tension in her gut begin to coil itself tighter but she kept it together.

If she showed any sign of fear, her bold outlook would be all a waste. Why was the lady being saucy?

Carolina couldn't remember ever meeting such an unruly person. She had a good memory and none of them was about her. This was the first time and she was sure about it.

However, if the woman wanted trouble, she would give it to her. After all, she had been on her own before she decided to poke her.

Liliana stopped a few distance before her, fuming in rage. Her eyes drilled holes in Carolina's body.

"I don't know you." Carolina said.

"You don't have to know me. Soon you will have to leave this house." Liliana gritted her teeth as she spoke.

Carolina remained silent. I never wanted to be here, you dumb bimbo. The words almost rolled off her lips but she chose not to speak.

"I see that you do not understand what I have been trying to tell you." Liliana continued.

"Humour me." Carolina's voice dripped with sarcasm.

With what was going on in her life, she had little or no time to care about who she was and she hoped the lady would realize this. But Liliana went on to drop the bombshell.

"I am Connor's fiancee and we are getting married next week. Get that into your head!"

Carolina's face went pallid immediately. Her eyes were wide and her mouth was slightly ajar as her breathing quickened.

" What?" She exclaimed.
