Chapter Forty Eight. Aaron's POV.The crowd have left now. The room is much more silent now. I am still staring at Cole Hunter, as he is staring back at me. He scoffs, suddenly, breaking the eye contact. As he goes to the table, his hands trailing the solidity of the long meeting table, he states, "would you like some drunk, Nicholas?" His eyes meet mine. I have a stern face worn on. "Oh, you don't want me to call you by your name?" There's a stiff moment of silence, forced to be cursed with great tension and then, I chuckle, "Oh, Cole Hunter, you seem to be acting like the Old man which your appearance projects." I say and for the first time since I've been in this room, my legs touch the ground. I take a seat on one of the many seats. Cole Hunter, on the other hand, goes to sit at the head chair. He is now pouring himself a drink. "And again, I ask. Would you like one?" "Yes, of course. The sun this afternoon was harsh, anyway, which I'm sure your men can be a witness of." I s
Chapter Forty Nine.Nicholas's POV.I have the wine cup in-between my index and middle finger, my eyes fixated on Cole Hunter, the Third. He is paying attention to me, even though I am yet to talk. I clear my throat, "how aware are you of the brewing war your son is causing towards the Vampires, his indulgence an annoyance to my race?" Cole Hunter, the Third, sips on his drink, using it as a chance to buy himself some time. "You would tell me that. You claim it affects your race, so tell me how it does."I scoff, my teeth baring at the canine. "Your men followed me to the Cinema today. Last night, I am certain of the brutality you see me do to your son. Sebastian wants the Vampires out of here. You act like you know nothing about it." In the next instance, I am in front of the Hunters' King. I stare into his eyes as I am almost kneeling before him. I have used my speed to turn his seat so that he is facing the opposite direction and my hands are at each side, holding the arms tight
Chapter Fifty.Nicholas's POV.I watch Sebastian Hunter as I take my leave, bowing my head lightly, and he does the same. To be honest, I have a feeling this war is even yet to start. It's going to be more exciting when it does. I am now out of the Frontal city. I am inside the woods and smacking my own head that I lost sight of my front and head right into a tree. Slamming into it, the force at which I was moving causes it to tear as I, myself, groan in pain. My body is healing as I lay on the ground. Fuck me! I have allowed my anger pave the way for the Hunters to think that Anastasia is important to me. I mean, I should have stopped myself before I got to that stage. I actually never wanted to mention her. I wanted things to look like I am only pissed because Sebastian started a fight with him, not because Anastasia was involved. The fact I have had many nannies for the kids and never cared about them, but now, I do for Anastasia, they would notice. Sebastian must have noticed a
Chapter Fifty One3rd POV."Nicholas, the King Of All Vampire's Kings, is hiding something." Whispers Cole Hunter, the Third, as he finishes the last content in the wine cup. He slams it down onto the table, not enough for it to break, but make a thud sound. He takes a stand and watch as Nicholas, the King Of All Vampire's Kings, walk away from his room. He is smiling on the outside, his own trick to keep his raging emotions at bay and at the same time, make it hard for any Vampire, recap: any Vampire, to use his facial expression to read his mind. He is an old Hunter and has learned many ways of causing difficulty in mind-reading for any Vampire. It is one of the reasons why he is the Hunters' king. He has learned what is needed to give the other supernatural lesser power over him, and oh, let us not even begin on the many of Werewolves and Vampires that he has captured over time and examined to know their weak spots and how to easily defeat them. One can say that is why he is able
Chapter Fifty Two.Anastasia's POV.In the dark, the air hits my face, hard. I cannot open my eyes. I am running too fast, unnatural, inhumanly, unknowingly. It is as though I am doing things without realization. I cannot open my eyes as much as I attempt to. The wind is just too much, forcing me to leave it tightly shut because of fear of losing my sight. Then, it dawned on me when, all of a sudden, the flashy motion stops. I open my eyes and find that my sight is fixated on a cliff, and even though I cannot see my body, I can tell that the end of the cliff is just ahead of my sight, and oh fuck, I am at its brink. Inside me, I am wailing from the fear of falling, but at the same time, I felt an arm around me. There is a presence, and it seemed I am being carried by that body. My own body is a disembodied nature. Before I know it, the race begins, again and then, I figured that it is the person that is running, not me. Not me at all. The person is the non-human one here. Sudden
Chapter Fifty Three.Anastasia's POV.In my room, I am back on the bed, lying on it. My face is positioned such that I can see the watch. The time is seven forty-eight. I should be dressed by now, but no, I am still on the bed, tired and fed up with those dreams. I don't know what is happening to me, which is the hardest part to deal with. People have dreams, nightmares, fine, but not just like that. I didn't watch any horror movies to begin with, nor did I face anything that would make my brain get fed by fear. I push myself up and go to the bathroom. Let's get ready for the day. Yes, I should, again, try to fight it from affecting my productivity.I get myself under the shower and as much as I have planned to take a quick shower, I failed at that. When I am done, it is after eight already. Figuring out that I don't actually care if I get late or not, at least one can be less productive at times, and it's not like I would be getting fired, I take myself to a seat in front of the mi
Chapter Fifty Four. Anastasia's POV. Unedited. There's not really much to talk about whilst the drive last. It was totally awkward and a punishment on my side, ish. The moment we arrived at the company, I was so glad. Thankfully, Nicholas got the hint that I don't want to talk to him and didn't push anything. It was only at the start of the drive that he talked, and it was about work, so I didn't feel much pressured. Well, truth be told, I am not being cold intentionally. I mean, when I was with him at first, I don't have dreams where he kills me or drink my blood, every night. Now, because of those nightmares, I see him as a total stranger. Or at least, someone I should be wary of. I feel like this is a way of my body telling me that I need to be careful of him, and that I shouldn't get too close, as I was before. I mean, I don't even know much about him apart from the fact that he is a rich young man. Argh. My head is getting twisted. He's not a bad person, is he? It's onl
Chapter Fifty Five. Unedited.Anastasia's POV.The first questions that came to my mind at first. Is he crazy? Has he lost his mind? Wait, how the heck is that even possible? Is this some dream state I'm in again?I resort to blinking my eyes, again, which is for the seventh time now. There's a masculine figure at the window, on the other side, outside. My eyes are still unbelieving of what it is seeing. Here he is, Cole Hunter, in the flesh, hovering in the air without some rope or something of sort, keeping him in the air. I still can't believe my sight. When he smiles at me, I come to know that I've finally lost it. "Oh, God. I'm going psycho." I say to myself, my voice out loud, though. "No, you're not. I'm here, for real." He tells me and I squint my eyes at him. Because of the ray of sun, shining through, at his sides, my hands go to cover my face a bit so I can see him clearly. "What the fuck? You fly?" I mean, it's crazy. This is real world. And then, a thought drops
