“Father, you called for me?”

Kieffer bowed in respect to the king. King Nereus waved his hand to the servants as he sent them away. He then stood up from his throne and come down to face his son.

He let out a soft sigh and looked at Kieffer with his eyes filled with distress. The time has come for him to pass on the throne to his only successor and right now, he felt as if the years he had ruled over just passed in a blink of an eye.

King Nereus felt fulfilled yet at the same time, he felt lonely. He lowered his head as he look at his son in a deep bow. The only condition for him to take the seat was that he find himself a wife. Over the years, he watched him grow into a fine young man and now that it was time for him to go. He felt a little bit sad.

“My child.”

He called out as the prince slowly lifted his head to look at him. King Nereus smiled gently and touch his son’s shoulder, he then nudged him a bit and asked.

“Have you found yourself a wife?”
