Guessing Ruby's Killer

Maia used Ruby's lips to complain to herself. Everything about Ruby was complete and Maia could feel it, undeniably.

Her head ached from thinking about everything, and perhaps also from the effects of the sleeping pills the body's owner had taken before she died. Maia chose to close her eyes to ease the pain.

However, after only a few minutes of closing her eyes, her ears were so alert to hear the sound of someone's presence nearby.

With her eyes closed, Maia swiftly grabbed the man's arm, only to open them. She saw a pair of beautiful brown eyes staring back at her.

'Juan O'Neil?'

Ruby's memory automatically explained the man currently staring intently at her. Juan O'Neil was Ruby Moon's husband. 

He was the CEO of MineTown City's largest talent agency—The The Galaxy. Ruby Moon's artistic career was also under the auspices of one of the major agencies, The The Galaxy.

'He's handsome and rich. He also never fails to fulfill his duties as a good husband to Ruby. But this?'

'He's different. Your husband is perfect, Ruby. This is amazing!' 

Maia exclaimed in delight. She hadn't imagined God's flawless creation like Juan. She was so amazed that she forgot that her hand was still tightly gripping Juan's arm.

"What?"

'I'm dead. His voice even sounds sexy!!!'

“Please let go,” Juan said again in a commanding tone, making Maia's thoughts stop and realize her carelessness.

“Ah,” Maia released her grip from Juan's arm.

Ruby's husband straightened his clothes a little before sitting on the sofa, a little distance from Maia.

Juan glanced at the mini cinema screen which was still showing the film Ruby was starring in.

‘Does she miss acting again?’ Juan wondered, remembering that Ruby had never said anything about what she wanted to do. 

Juan would have granted her any request.

Unbeknownst to Juan, there were unblinking eyes watching him. 

Maia stared intently at the man who was her husband, ‘Is he real? I'm almost going crazy looking at him. He looks like the man of my dreams, God!’

Maia's mischief arose when she noticed Juan's flawless handsomeness. She tried to dig up Ruby's memory of having a one-night stand with Juan. Although it was only one time, it was… hot.

‘Help me!!! His body is also perfectly handsome!’

“Let's get a divorce.”

“W-what?” 

Maia was instantly shocked. Her lewd thoughts about Juan were instantly shattered upon hearing those words.

“Just as you asked when I returned. We're divorced, and let's do what we want. Here are the divorce papers. All you need to do is sign them and… you're free.”

Maia blinked a few times, trying to process what she heard and what was playing back in her memory.

Maia felt like screaming at the top of her lungs. Having just woken up from the dead and found the perfect life she'd dreamed of, her ideal husband had now granted Ruby's foolish request for a divorce.

"I've been thinking long and hard about this marriage for a month. For you and Leo, and for me. From the beginning, you've been honest about not wanting children, and even after five years of marriage, you're still the same."

"I thought you'd change seeing Leo grow up to this day, but you haven't,”

"So, I won't hold back any longer. I don't want my son to grow up suffering even though his parents are intact. That's more painful than living in an orphanage."

‘I'm too late, huh? It turns out this marriage can't be saved.’ Maia muttered in disappointment. Her heart clearly ached at Juan's words.

Juan took a deep breath before getting up and standing in front of Maia, “You win. Congratulations because you’re free now,” he said, then looked at his wife’s face one last time before leaving the room.

Maia couldn't say anything but curse the body owner, ‘You stupid woman! Ruby, I think you will be cursed by all women on earth for throwing away this perfect life!’

‘I haven't even been awake a day in this body and haven't done anything, and I have to stop. I'm back to living alone, rich, but without a husband or children.’

“Hah, I’m done. My head feels like it's going to explode and I want to sleep!”

To hell with it all. Fighting the enemy is actually more exciting than living a life in a household that's been destroyed by the body's own selfishness.

She* had returned to her room, but instead of sleeping and letting everything go, Maia, who was in Ruby's body, was even more confused about their lives.

Ruby's death wasn't Maia's concern. The gangster boss could have left everything about Ruby Moon behind and revived the Blood Lotus organization to its former glory, but unfortunately, Maia felt burdened.

Juan and Joe's faces in Ruby's memories continued to haunt the woman until one conclusion emerged, strengthening Maia's reason for remaining as Ruby.

“If Ruby Moon didn’t want to live with the O'Neil family and repeatedly wanted to commit suicide, why was her death taken by someone else?” Maia thought.

"Isn't it true that a hellish marriage is only for those closest to you? People in this house aren't even allowed to bring any news outside,"

According to Maia, someone wants Ruby dead, and that person knows the O'Neil family's plight. But who is it?

"Even though Ruby didn't care, from her memories, she knew that her husband and son wanted to get closer to her. The father and son's attention seemed to be hoping Ruby would open her heart to them."

Maia was seen scribbling on a piece of paper containing the names of people who came to mind.

“So, who do you think wants Ruby dead?” she muttered as she tried to delve deeper into Ruby’s memories.

Juan and Leon's names had been crossed out. Mariana's name was also crossed out, as Ruby knew Juan's nanny was sincere and kind in caring for him.

The names of Madam Brenda, Tamara Bless, and Rose White suddenly appeared in her mind.

"Madam Brenda. Hmm, she's certainly suspicious, as she's never been gentle with Ruby. But because of her position, she doesn't bother Ruby at all. That grandmother is adept at handling herself in safe situations. But she's also not to be underestimated, considering every corner of this house is under her control."

"That means she knows best how to get in and out of this house and all the rooms,"
