Again the knock resounded on the fragile glass window. Initially, a response wasn't heard, so he placed another now; this time, a more raucous one.
Briefly, he waited, hoping to get answered, yet everywhere was quiet. âIs she asleep or what?â he questioned while crawling more closely to the window. He leaned closer, placing his face on it, withstanding the dirt that stuck unto the window. Those peering eyes of his roamed around the dark room, hoping to see her awake, but the reverse was the case.
âDid that fucker do it again?â his voice was laced with anger as he maintained his gaze on the seemingly lifeless body of a girl who laid on a tattered bed. Skillfully yet noiselessly, he pulled the window upwards then slid discreetly into the crappy roomâoriginally, it's met to be a basement, but Mr. Kiel proclaimed it as her bedroom.
Kiera.
âKiera!â Greg called out in a whisper. He expected her to snap from her slumber, but not today, so he proceeded. Greg found the light switch, which he then switched on.
The lights kissed a sleeping Kiera, who seemedâŚ. Lifelessâher limbs were curled in such a way that one could mistake her for being a fleshy ball rather than a human. Her brown hazelnut hair appeared unkempt, dirty and even reeked greatly. Upon further inspection, it was obvious she's basically naked, since the shreds didn't particularly count as clothing.
Pity was evident in Greg's eyes as he persisted his gaze on her gloomy figure. He advanced closer to the bed, then crouched on his knee. Reaching his right hand to her face, he caressed it mildly and noticed how sticky it wasâprobably due to the dried up tears. While caressing her oval face, her eyelids twitched gently before she opened her eyes fully.
He withdrew his arm and watched her awake slowly. A low grunt elicited from her tiny yet bloody lips as she sat upright on the bed.
âDamnâ came a groan of pain when she attempted to sit fully on the bed; her abdomen, middle, and her thighs ached like crazy. Still in pain, she turned her head to behold Greg, who's mutely staring at her.
âGreg!â a small smile found its way to her lips, but he didn't change his countenance. âHe raped you again, didn't he?â Greg asked flatly with the deadpan expression lingering on his face.
Kiera took her lips in, then looked away shyly. Her thighs rubbed against each other lightly, and she felt the dried up blood thereâit was highly uncomfortable.
He knew instantly he was correct, so he sighedâfrustration accompanied that sigh.
Silence enveloped them as Greg looked away while Kiera chewed her lips shamefully.
âKai, why don't we run away?â
His question made her look rapidly at him. âWhat?â she mumbled, shockingly. He faced her again, then sat down on the bed, next to her.
âYes. We should elope together. I can't tolerate you being raped repeatedly by the same man we call our father! How longâŚfor how long should I watch my sister get raped countless times by that bastard?â he bellowed aggressively.
âShh! Keep your voice down, Greg. Please. He might hear youâ Kiera cautioned immediately, and quickly placed her index finger on his lips.
âDon't raise your voice, please. Father mightâŚâ
âStop addressing him as father! He doesn't even deserve to be called a werewolfâ Greg grumbled in displeasure. She couldn't stop the smile from curving on her lips. Kiera cupped his cheeks in her hands, then rubbed it tenderly with her fingers.
âEverything will be okay one day, Greg. I mean, I have you; my lovely little brother besides me. I can overcome everything and anything as long as you're here with meâ She tried to divert from the topic, but he didn't buy it.
âGoddamn it, Kai!â he hushed, standing to his feet. âWhy can't you see the need for us to get the hell out here?â He rasped, now enraged by her lack of cooperativeness; he doesn't know for how much longer he can bear seeing the same man who birthed them raping his daughter.
Kiera merely smiled and attempted to stand up. Then again, she couldn't since her legs were literally too feeble.
âCan you get me something to eat, Greg? I'm starvingâ she clearly avoided conversing deeper on that certain topic. Greg, although angered, had no choice than to carry out the order. He muttered some inaudible words before going to the window.
He exited through the window, crawled on the branches of the huge iroko tree and left completely.
Kiera's blue, oceanic eyes were trailing after him until he left entirely. Her gaze shifted from the window to her lower sectionâhot tears soon accumulated in her eyes.
âMoon Goddess, save me!â she whimpered, dipping her face into her palms. Kiera cried bitterly as the memories flooded her headâthe death of her mother and their father's sudden change of attitude towards them. Ever since their mum died then disappeared mysteriously, their father changed drasticallyâhe neglected them callously, refused to fend for them, maltreated and evenâŚwent as far as having forced intercourse with his daughter.
Isn't that sickening? Yet, Kiera refuses to run away, for whatever reason she harbors. Her 17 year old brother Greg, even though spared his brutal ways, desires so badly for Kiera to run away.
YetâŚshe won't run. She kept crying profusely for half an hour before putting a dint to it.
âIâŚwon't run. I'll wait for youâ she muttered and wiped the tears gently from her red, puffy eyes.

His steps were staggeringly while heading for the shabby apartment he calls home. A bottle of tequila could be seen in his possession, which he held greedily. With drowsy eyes, he occasionally fell to the ground, but managed to pick himself up.
Ultimately, he arrived at the front door.
âHey! Kiera! Open the motherfuking door!â he banged heavily and repeatedly at the wooden doorâit's so obvious he's terribly drunk, and he keeps causing a ruckus. Then again, there's no one to reprimand him since the Dawson lives deep in the woods.
Riel, the father of Greg and Kiera, purposely built an unimpressive home in the woods away from the monitoring eyes of Alpha Axel.
Meanwhile, inside her room were Kiera and Greg. Somehow she's able to walk, but the pain persists. Currently, she's having dinner with Greg in the slightly illuminated room.
âSay Kai, I heard the Alpha quintuplets are coming back from Australiaâ Greg bubbled radiantly at Kiera. She furrowed her eyebrows inquisitively.
âQuintuplets? Is that even possible? How can five individuals rule the Crimson Moon Pack? Won't there be disagreements between them?â she couldn't help but ask, finding the entire thing disbelieving.
âI know right, but apparently Alpha Axel sent them away for a cause; they've been away from home for the past 5 years to strengthen their bond. They're arriving tonight. And they sayâŚone's cursedâ.
âEnough Greg! Don't let anyone hear you sprouting such bullshit. What if you get executed for soiling the Alpha's name?" She scolded him immediately, but he seemed nonchalant.
âThe rumors are true. Same with them being unbelievably handsomeâ As Greg gushed non-stop, a loud bang interrupted their discussion. Fear flashed through Kiera's eyes since she knew âŚhe's back!
âThat son of a bitch. I thought he died somewhereâ Greg said with gritted teeth. Despite how terrified she was, Kiera stood and rushed speedily out of the room. She ran down the stairs and to the door.
Her legs were practically shaking with fear because he'll be drunk, and she can clearly see an undeserving beating coming her way.
Yet, she pulled the doorknob backwards and almost instantly, a hard slap landed on her cheek. A wince escaped her lips as she fell right on the floor, bruising her elbow already.
âYou bitch! What the fuck took you so long?â he demanded tipsily. He thudded into the room, then retrieved the bottle of tequila. Kiel took a gigantic gulp of the content then faced Kiera, who's trembling uncontrollably in fear.
âC'mere youâ he sluggard dankly. She shook her head negatively with her eyes pleading for mercy.
âPlease! Please don't! I'll die! Please!!â she begged frantically; the pains down there are yet to fade away, yet he wants to thrust into her again. NoâŚ
She's sure she won't see the next sunrise if that happens. Then again, the beast of a father wasn't in his right senses to begin with, so she basically blabbered nonsense into his ears.
âCome here, you little bitch! Don't fuck with me!â he roared, tossing the bottle recklessly to a corner. Kiera stood, and attempted to run away when he caught her by the arm.
âNo! No! Let me go! Please!!â she screamed at the top of her voice, hoping that someone, anyone would hear her cries, butâŚwho would? For fuckâs sake, it's the woods.
Aside from the fact that it's late, who in their right mind would be wandering in the dark, dangerous woods? Kiel dragged Kiera towards the raggy couch, ignoring how she struggled.
She's far too timid to fightâshe doesn't even have a wolf, even though she's past eighteen. Isn't it shameful?
âAh!â she cried when tossed carelessly on the couch. He knelt on the couch quickly, towering dominantly over her.
Kiel's hand groped her fleshy right thigh. He forcefully parted her legs, but when he began unbolting his belt, a hard metal struck his head. Kiel groaned in pain and relented for a while. He turned weakly to glance at his attacker, only to see it's⌠Greg with a crowbar.
Kiera gasped. âGreg!â her eyes dilated in unhidden shock and amazement. With great strength, Greg pushed Kiel away from her. As he fell to the floor, he grabbed her hand then pulled her up.
âGreg?â
âWe need to run!â He declared seriously. Arguing isn't a decision, so she remained mute as they ran towards the door. Kiera stepped out first, but Greg never did, since Kiel caught him unexpectedly. Kiel tactfully encircled his sturdy hands on Greg's throat, literally choking him.
Violently, he flung him on the floor then stomped on his stomach wickedly.
âGreg!â she wanted to run back in only to get yelled at. âDon'tâŚcomeâŚin hereâ he blurted through difficulty. She halted.
âListenâŚtoâŚme Kai. YouâŚmust run. PâŚpleaseâŚah!â he cried in pain as Kiel dung his foot deeper in his stomach. âRun away?â Kiel repeated, but more menacing.
âOh no, baby girl. That shit isn't happeningâ he tried to go after Kiera, then again Greg held his foot firmly. The two males glared hatefully at each other. âLet go of my foot, boy!â he ordered authoritatively.
âNever! Kieraâ Greg faced her only to see tears flowing freely down her eyes. âIâŚmade this choice. I know you won't let it go in vainâŚso pleaseâŚrun away. Please!â he begged with a wry smile.
âGregâ she whispered tearfully. He nodded reassuringly and that gave her the boast to start running.
âHey! Kiera!!â Kiel tried once more to go after her, yet Greg held onto his leg stubbornly. âYou bitch!â
âHa!â Greg smirked. âI'll be damned to let you go, man whoreâ
â
She ran as quickly as her legs could carry herâwhere she's running to, she had no idea. But⌠Kiera won't allow Greg's sacrifice to be for nothing. She felt tears surfacing in her eyes again, then again she wiped it.
âGreg⌠I'll come back for youâ she cried heartbreakingly and kept running through the window. Apparently, her tears shielded her eyes from seeing clearly, so when she ran into the tarred road, she never knew. Unknowingly, a car was speeding on the road and due to the unexpectedness of her entrance into the road, the driver couldn't step on the brake in time.
A flash of bright light shone on her face, blinding her temporarily, before the collision occurred. Kiera merely gasped before getting hit brutally by the car.
She rolled countlessly on the tarred roadâher body kissed the hard floor savagely until she finally stopped rolling next to a tree root.
âWho the fuck was that?â
âDidâŚwe just got someone?â
âFuck you Wesley. Were you blind while driving or what!â
âJayden, you totally caused this shit.â
âDad will be madâ
Slowly her consciousness slipped away butâŚshe caught a glimpse of the faces of all five.
"At first, he had tried to entice me by showing me all that I would stand to gain if I accepted his offer. According to him, his pack was large enough to accommodate us and he would be responsible for our safety, that way we wouldn't need to fight off enemies all by ourselves. That made so much sense but I could not accept it." "This pack means more to me than just being a pack. It's a remnant of Crystal pack. I can't just team up with some other pack who had no idea what we've been through. Besides, I discovered that Kappa is somehow involved with Alpha Lundamous' son. I can't have anything to do with a pack who teams up with the one pack that killed my parents." He remained quiet, not wanting to interrupt for fear that she might come to her senses and shut up her emotions like he had seen her do to others. It was a huge surprise that she was revealing all these to him and Hayden was sure she was only doing that because she thought he was someone else. Speaking out would make her r
BEEN THROUGH A LOT He was starting to feel discouraged after running for a while without any sight of the alpha. He had no idea if he had followed the exact path she had taken but he had seen some paw prints on the wet ground and had simply followed. But currently, he was beginning to doubt if those paws belonged to the alpha.Wiping the sweat that had now creased his brow, he sighed heavily, wondering if he should just return or continue his search. Would she even want to see him? After listening to Kunata say shit about him, he was not so confident about the Alpha's feelings for him anymore. Though she had not said anything bad about him â except that she would kill him if he turned out to be an enemy; his heart was still hurt by those words â Aiden didn't know how she was feeling inside. Was she beginning to have some second thoughts about him? Would she listen to Kunata and send him out of the pack? Or would she let him stay but withdraw herself from him?Surprisingly, he didn't
DON'T WANT TO BELIEVE I had been waiting for close to thirty minutes yet no sign of him. Did he think I was a joke? Had he deliberately accepted to meet me just to stand me up for hours?I raked a finger through my hair, trying to control my anger as I stood at the foot of the baobab tree we had agreed to meet at. This spot was one of the secret places we could meet and I had personally chosen it so we could have our conversation without being seen by nosy wolves in the pack.I let out a big sigh, still wondering if I had been played. Had he done this just to get back at me? I didn't want to believe that I had been stupid enough to get played on like this.To be honest, I would not be surprised if he didn't show up. Somehow, I was expecting him not to. It had been years since we last had a proper conversation and I was not sure he liked me anymore to want to be around me.Nevertheless, he should have just told me he was not going to come rather than lead me on only to abandon me to m
BURST OUTShe looked at me, her blue eyes watering as her lips quivered."I don't know. He left. He didn't want to hurt me so he left. He felt he would harm me if he remained here with me. But I don't think so. I told him we will get through this together. I know I will be able to calm him anytime he shifts. I'm not afraid of him. I love him." She burst out in tears.I stared at her, my jaw dropped in shock and surprise. What was she saying? Why would Aiden think he would hurt her?Aiden was the sweetest person I have ever known so it just didn't sit right with me that he would hurt a person. Besides, did she just say she loved Aiden? What made her think she had the right? There were so many questions I wanted to ask but the exact opposite left my lips."I don't understand.""Do you know Aiden is an Epsilon?" She wiped her tears and sniffed. She was looking at me like I should know what she was talking about but I had no idea."A what?""An Epsilon. Don't you know what that means?""A
ANYWAY He kept staring at him, finding it funny that the man would think he knew his alpha. He had mentioned her name with so much pride and he was sure he had expected him to cower at the sound. But he was not in any way afraid, in fact, he was intrigued. Intrigued by this pack with a female alpha. "Let him go, Kunata!" Alpha Velvet sighed. Kunata finally let him go, but not without squeezing his shirt a little bit tighter and growling into his face. Aiden adjusted his tunic and leaned back to the heap of stones, his golden-brown eyes on the alpha who was slowly approaching him. "I don't think you should come close to him, alpha. I strongly believe he is dangerous." "Stop it, Kunata. I can take care of myself, remember?" They were talking about him as if he wasn't there. Aiden wanted to yell at them that he was right by their side and would appreciate it if they let him be but it seemed like the words had solidified in his throat, making it difficult to get them out. Alpha Ve
MORPHED He could not take his eyes off the bloody corpse lying all around him. The werewolves who had attacked him had now morphed back to their human forms and their bodies lay in waste, blood oozing out from various parts of their lifeless bodies. They were dead and he could not believe he had killed them. When he had threatened to feed on their corpse, he had never meant to kill them. He had only wanted to scare them off and perhaps injure them a little just to teach them some lesson, but the worst had happened. His wolf had done what it knew how to do best and it had gone ahead to rip them all apart. Aiden could still remember trying to stop his wolf from killing them, he had yelled, had even tried to morph back to his human self but all his effort had been futile because his wolf had not listened to him. It felt like they were two different entities with different minds and no matter how much he yelled, it was as though his wolf could not hear his voice. Now that he was thi
