Even as the waitress returns with the meal he’s still in fits of laughter which made her pause at the door for a bit before continuing on her way to the table to set our food and drinks down, I thank her, she smiles and leaves after taking another glance at Dastan who is just managing to compose himself.

 I truly can’t believe you said that Stormie, it’s been so long I’ve laughed like that, my stomach actually hurts, thank you for that.

 you’re welcome, laughter is the best medicine after all

 oh my goodness, let’s have our lunch, I don’t want to make you late getting back to work

Late or not doesn’t really matter when you own the business but he doesn’t need to know that right now no worries, my boss is cool and I’m always on time so she won’t have a fit, really? Well that’s good to know. We continue with our lunch and I must say the food is absolutely delicious, we take a short walk after lunch to a very quaint jewellery store.

He pulled the door open and ushers me inside gently I saw this bracelet a few weeks ago and thought of you but I didn’t want to get it and give it to you to make you feel pressured by accepting it, but I’d really love for you to have it.

It’s beautiful Dastan but I do think it’s too soon for you to be buying me jewellery, let’s first see where things go for us, then we can revisit this.

What if someone else buys it?

Then it wasn’t meant for me, if it’s meant for me when we get to that point, it’d still be here for you to get for me.

I don’t believe in leaving things up to chance Stormie, I like having things under control, it is a must for me

Then I suppose you’d have to learn from now on or stop here

How can you say something like that so easily?

Because no one can control everything, there are always unseen variables that pop up and for sure you are not God and even he allows unplanned things to happen.

What I mean is, how can you say stop here so easily? Aren’t basically telling me to give up on you?

More or less because I am not the type of woman that can be or likes to be controlled, my freedom is not something I’ll ever compromise on and I am an unpredictable person, so if you know that part of me will cause problems for you or us later on then stop before you get in too deep, that’s all I’m saying.

He looks at me for a bit as though searching my eyes for something, I’m not sure what it is but I stare back at him with the same stare so he will know that I’m serious about the things I’ve said, my parents brought me up to be nothing but me and I will not compromise on myself.

He sighs very well Stormie, I will do as you say and leave it up to chance, I want to take a chance on you, on us, so this compromise will be my first.

Alrighty then Dastan, thank you shall we go?

He opens the door for me once again and let’s me out the door first then does the same for the car, he get’s his phone from his pocket and looks down at it before putting up a finger for me asking me to give him a minute then close my car door.

I peek out of the window and see me leaning against the back of the car and making gestures with his free hand as though upset about something, after a few minutes he opens the door on his side and slides into the car and releases a breath.

Is everything alright?

The driver starts the car and pulls away from the restaurant and we make our way back to the city, I sit quietly playing Kitty Sort on my phone to pass the time as I can see he’s busy typing what looks to be emails and answering messages, I suppose he really did make space for me in his schedule.

That's very thoughtful of him, I will give him Ten brownie points for it too, once we make it back to my gallery, it's about Thirty minutes past One in the afternoon, I didn't do too badly.

I turn to him thank you for lunch today Dastan, I truly enjoyed the meal and the company

The pleasure was all mine, I most certainly enjoyed the company, I am sorry to have to cut our conversation short but I must get going, I have some things I need to take care of in the company.

Go ahead, let me see you walk in to your building I smile and turn on my heels and walk into the gallery after a small wave at the door, he waves back and get's into the car.
