Chapter 2

Rose left the apartment, her hand still on her mouth to muffle her sob as the laughter of Alec and Stephanie rang behind her.

Her eyes were red and puffy from crying, her leg gave in and she fell to her knees right beside her car, the sob escaping her lungs.

She sat on the floor, her head leaning on her car as she thought about everything, how she has been nothing but good to Alec and Stephanie.

Stephanie was forty years old and she was her father's secretary before her father married her. She's never pregnant for her dad but she is pregnant for Alec.

Rose cleaned off her tears and she stood up with determination. Her death has been planned and they were going to execute it tonight itself. 

But she wasn't willing to give them the chance to accomplish that and have the last laugh. 

She slowly clutched her belly and let out a bitter smile. “My baby, I'm so sorry to have conceived you at the wrong time and that's why mom will not bring you forth to this sinful world especially to an unfaithful father.” 

She looked around the parking space and her eyes caught sight of a big and sharp pebble. And without a second thought, she put forth her own wrist, slicing it with the sharp edge of the pebble with tears slipping her eyes as the pain settled.

Blood oozed out of her cut wrist and the pain intensified while she felt life slowly draining out of her. From the corner of her eyes she saw Stephanie and Alec coming out of the room. They didn't feel an ounce of guilt, they were cuddling each other and laughing at her as they watched life slowly draining out of her.

She let out a bitter smile, slowly recalling all the sweet moments with Alec, their first date and lovely moment and life eventually drained out of her.

And that mark the close chapter of her life, she regretted a lot of things, her meeting Alec and marrying him, her being nice to Stephanie and believing everything she said and what she regretted the most is the baby in her baby, he or she hasn't even seen the light of this world but it was a right choice, as this seems like an easy and painless death to her compare to the people she has once called her love one poisoned her to death.

Rose's soul slowly parted from her physical body and stood right in front of her physical body.

Rose was in shock at what was happening, with a heavy heart she moved more closer to her physical body on the floor and tried to touch it but she was just touching air and wasn't able to touch her physical body.

She tried once again to touch her body but it was a futile attempt and there she understands the saying about soul wandering around. 

She's become a wandering soul, just like they have often heard in myth. She watched as Alec went for the gate while Stephanie moved closer to her body on the floor with a scowl on her face, she clicked her tongue and gave Rose's body a pitiful look.

“What a foolish girl! Anyone in your shoes would have run away after hearing what you just heard but come to think of it, you're extremely wise and I'll commend you for your excellent thinking because even if you have tried to escape after finding out our secret,we will catch you and kill you.” With a smirk, Stephanie poked Rose's cheek with her forefinger.

Rose's soul couldn't take whatever her body was going through, she moved forward to slap away Stephanie's hand but all her hands met was the air.

“Move away from my body, how dare you Stephanie!” Rose's soul shouted but it was to no avail as Stephanie couldn't hear what Rose was saying and Stephanie even stepped on Rose's hair on the floor.

Rose's soul attention was snatched away by Alec who was coming in with troops of policemen and the media.

A gasp escaped Rose's lip as she realized what was happening and drama started from Stephanie's side as she started wailing and carrying Rose's head to her chest.

“Rose, how can you be so cruel and committed suicide?”

Even Alec looked worn out, his face held sadness and grievance as he moved closer to Rose with the media and police.

“We are very sorry for your loss, Mr. Alec. Can we see the note she left behind?” The Inspector asked while Alec brought out a note from his pocket and handed it to the Inspector.

“It was written here by the deceased that she committed infidelity because she's tired of her relationship with Mr. Alec and after finding out she's pregnant from this infidelity. She couldn't bring herself to face Mr. Alec and she committed suicide out of shame.” The Inspector read out while the media people recorded and gave bad comments about Rose.

Rose's soul watching on the side gasps and shakes her head at their attempt to label her bad even after her death.

“Please, don't record this. Although Rose has given me the worst betrayal. She was still my wife and the love of my life. Please don't let this spread to the internet. I just want her soul to rest peacefully.” Alec spoke with a quivering lips and tears falling down his face.

“What a hypocrite!” How could her soul rest listening to all the gibberish they are spouting about her? Her expression hardened and it turned to that of hatred, her fist were clenched as she stared at Stephanie and Alec with anger.

She seems to be regretting her decision now, she wanted a second chance. A second chance to exact revenge on them for their betrayal.

That was what Rose's creator needed, and she felt a jolt all of a sudden and a bolt of electricity passed through her soul and a voice spoke. “Rose, as you've requested you've been given a second chance. Use it wisely.”
