Chapter 1

Rose Oxford lips were curved up into a smile, her eyes held pride and shone with happiness as she left the gynaecologist office.

The blue gown she's wearing matches the color of her eyes. It brought out the beauty of her white milky skin. Her long brown hair was curled at the end and it settled perfectly on her shoulder.

She couldn't express her happiness as she eventually let out a grin while walking to the hospital parking lot where she had parked her car. She grabbed hold of her phone and texted Alec with the lingering smile still on her lips. “Where are you hubby?” 

She has been happily married to her childhood sweetheart and love, Alec Forester for five years and what's marriage without a child as they said? They tried every possible best but Rose didn't get pregnant.

After three years of marriage, her prayer was answered as she conceived a baby, both her and Alec was very happy but a tragedy befall them and their happiness didn't last long as she has a miscarriage, Rose stepmother, Stephanie and Alec were her support as they showered her with love when she's almost depressed.

Although she hasn't said it to her husband Alec and he didn't pressurize her, she was looking forward to another pregnancy and her prayer had just been answered. Today is hers and Alec's fifth year wedding anniversary and that same day is the day she found out about her pregnancy.

'What an auspicious day it is.’ She thought with a smile, turned on the ignition and drove off to her stepmother's home when her phone beep suddenly and then a message popped up from Alec. “I’m very busy and actually in the middle of a meeting right now? What's it wifey?” 

She decided not to disturb him anymore since he's in the middle of a meeting, her free hand made its way to her flat belly once again and she squealed thinking that a life is growing inside her now. 

She's planned a surprise with Stephanie for him to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary tonight but it seems he'll be getting two surprises. She shook her head with a smile thinking that the happy ending she's planned for herself is slowly coming true.

Her stepmother Stephanie is the first person she wanted to give the good news to, because Stephanie is more than a stepmother to her, she was her backbone and supporter and she stood by Rose when she first had a miscarriage, so Rose felt the good news should reach Stephanie's ear first.

Rose can't wait to see Stephanie's expression when she told her about her pregnancy news, Rose felt Stephanie must be very happy for her.

She reached Stephanie's apartment, she drove to the parking lot and turned off the ignition but what caught her off guard was Alec's parked car.

Her brow was raised in doubt as she stared at the red Ashton Martin she's gotten for Alec's twenty-fifth birthday. 

Didn't he say earlier in his message that he's busy and in a meeting? She walked round the red Ashton Martin to check the plate number.

Her eyes soon widened and she nodded her head with a knowing smile, Alec must have lied about being in a meeting and come here to plan for their wedding anniversary tonight with Stephanie.

Her heart beat increased rapidly and she felt so much love as she thought about how much Alec loved her, with a cunning smile she walked into the living room with an intention of surprising both Stephanie and Alec.

She walked into the living room and looked around, and strangely no one was there but all she heard was a strange sound coming out from Stephanie's kitchen.

Her beat increased and nervousness crept in as she followed the strange sounds to Stephanie's kitchen.

As she got to the kitchen, the strange sounds became prominent and Rose found it to be moans and groans.

'What the heck' She thought, with curiosity, nervousness and gut feeling she peeped through the jar door and what she witnessed made her leg wobble. It was the biggest betrayal of the season.

Stephanie was seated on the kitchen island with her two legs spread widely, head thrown back and her red panties in between her knees while Alec's head was in between her wide leg, his tongue working wonder on her nether region.

Rose slowly leaned on the wall, her vision getting blurry by the images in front of her, so she rubbed her eyes clearly and peeped through the ajar door again.

Her heart broke into pieces and her eyes were filled with tears as she watched Alec giving head to Stephanie who was moaning loudly as if she's on cloud nine.

“Yes, Alec. Your tongue works wonderfully. You're even better at it than last time.” Stephanie spoke amidst moans while guiding Alec's head deep into her core.

Stephanie watched with tears dripping down her face, she covered her mouth with her hand to silence her sob.

Rose watched as Stephanie squirmed and let out a satisfied grunt coming down from her high while Alec cleaned her off. 

Rose suddenly felt disgusted and bile rushed to her throat as she watched Stephanie and Alec share a tongue involved. Alec helped Stephanie with her pants and they discussed in each other's arms.

“How are you planning for tonight?” Alec was the first to ask with his irregular heartbeat as a result of his exercise with Stephanie.

Stephanie kissed his neck and replied.”Don't worry, everything is set. Rose will be poisoned by her favourite red champagne rose which you'll be given to her and after that she's going to the same place we sent her father, and that's hell.”

Alec nodded with a small smile, while pecking Stephanie's forehead. “I hope nothing spoils our plans tonight because I'm looking forward to having her father's company in my name and then you and I can travel out with our baby after her death.”

Stephanie clicked her tongue with a fake pitiful look on her eyes. “Poor Rose, she's looking forward to tonight and even planned a surprise for you. I can't wait to see her struggling for her life like when we gave her abortion pill.”

Rose's eyes were rimmed red as she used her hands to muffle her sobs, tears falling repeatedly down her face at the betrayal of the people whom she loves the most. 

They killed her father, made her have abortion and were even planning to kill her and all of this just because of her father's properties?
