LOGINLennox's Pov
It was 9 pm and all the students were in their dorms. It was already past curfew and the only thing keeping the campus alive were the guards patrolling outside. I walked past the eerie campus as I headed to the forest at the end of the school. This area was restricted to students, but I was no regular student. Noticing the guards, I had to be careful not to get caught.
I walked past the forest, landing before a huge stone. Taking a deep breath I chanted a spell and the stone was rolled away revealing a cave. I entered the cave, walking till I saw the light at the end.
Reaching the end, I stepped out.
Revealing the world behind. It was our world.p
That of the ….werewolves. Humans thought we were erased from this world but they had no idea a few of us survived the great war.
I stepped into our pack, the full moon pack. I was met with other werewolves but this place never felt like home to me.
I was the illegitimate child of the alpha and as such was treated as an Outcast all my life. Although I was from the hierarchy, I was treated worse than an Omega.
I could hear their whispers as I walked by, some saying the bastard was back, others simply looking at me with disgust. I ignored their stares. I was used to this anyway.
I was considered the black ship of the family because my mother, a maid in the pack mansion, had an affair with the Alpha. All these years, I've been looked down upon and mistreated by my brothers – half brothers.
I was always sent to the worst errands while my half brothers spent their time partying with women. I was given a mission this time to spy on the humans and collect information about their world. I had agreed because I had nothing to do and also, I wanted to leave this sick place
However, something unexpected happened in the human world. I saw her. And even if it was for the briefest moment I noticed her and my wolf immediately shouted… mate. She had beautiful ember eyes shining as though it could bring salvation to one's soul. Her beautiful blonde hair was tied into a ponytail revealing her pale skin.
She looked so gentle and fragile, like someone too precious for this world. At first I had a doubt as to why the moon goddess would mate me to a human. So I went over to her dorm and I felt the bond. My wolf kept saying mate… mate as I stood by her window.
I was dragged out of my thoughts by an annoying voice.
“ So bastard you came back. What information did you bring this time, errand boy.” He spat with disgust.
I looked up to see Xavier, the eldest son of the alpha and next alpha in line. I ignored him walking my way to the pack mansion when suddenly, he violently grabbed me by the shoulder pulling behind.
“So you've got some nerve now! fucking asshole.” He hissed. “ you think being summoned by father makes you an equal to us, you're just a mistaken piece of shit we let room around so act like the toy that you are.” He aggressively grabbed me by the collar.
I stared at the hatred and disgust he held in his eyes. “Let go of me Xavier. I won't repeat myself twice.” I demanded calmly.
“Oh my, oh my, it looks like our little bird has grown some wings, we better cut it off to remind him of his place.” Another voice echoed and I turned around to see it was the other half brother Damien.
“You're right, what punishment should we give you?” Xavier smiled menacely “ But if you apologize on your knees, we might give you a chance to….”
BAM!
My fist connected with Xavier's jaw, snapping his head sideways.
The impact was so strong that it sent him crashing into the wall.
Everything happened so fast that Xavier didn't have the time to react. I turned and noticed Damien staring at me, eye wide.
“You fucking bastard! I will fucking kill you.” Xavier roared with blood dripping from his mouth.
They both prepared to launch at me.
I prepared myself as I saw them launching at me as though they were prepared to kill me.
However their fists never reached me as it was blocked mid way…
“ Who the hell tried to stop me, are you looking for a death wish?” Xavier shouted but his face went pale when he noticed the person before him.
It was Beta Luciano.
“What do you intend to do young man?” He said coldly. “Both of you get out of my sight.” He added as they both left, fists clenched.
He finally turned towards me “ Your father has been waiting. Do you think it is appropriate to keep the alpha waiting?” He dead panned.
I didn't answer him. I simply made my way to the mansion while he followed.
“ Shouldn't you be thanking me, you annoying brat. Who knows what would have happened to you if I hadn't showed up.” Luciano scoffed.
“I don't remember needing saving.” I said.
“Says the man who stood powerless before two fists launching at his face.” Luciano mocked.
“I just wanted to see how strong they had become but thanks to you I didn't get the chance.” I said quietly.
Luciano had been the one person who never treated me differently which made me wonder why.
We continued our conversation till we reached the Alpha's office. Pushing the door, I stepped in leaving Luciano outside.
Right before me was the Alpha. He sat with quiet dominance as though the world belonged to him. His brought shoulders rested against the black wooden chair covered with fur. His one arm resting on the armrest.
He scanned me with his sharp, intelligent and predator focused gaze as though already anticipating me.
“ So what information have you gathered, my son?” He asked scornfully.
My son – hearing that word from him made my stomach twist in disgust but I ignored him.
“ Humans have evolved.” I said flatly, “They have sophisticated technology and are very large in numbers.”
“How large are we talking about.” he sneered.
“Very large their school population alone will be able to outnumber us.” I added.
“ I see. We will have to take away that advantage from them. Return back to their world, learn to fit in. And when their guard is down, turn as many humans as you can into werewolves. In a few months, we will be the ones with the greater number and then we will launch the second “Great war”. However this time, the humans will be the ones to perish.” he drawled, his voice laced with venom.
I didn't look up as he spoke. “ If you're done I need to go back before dawn.” I said turning around.
“One more thing.” He said as I halted midway. “I'm sending two werewolves with you this time.”
“I don't need them.” I cut him off but he insisted saying it was not a request.
I sighed. “They better not get in my way then.”
As I walked through the hallway I a heard voice from behind.
“So Nox, I guess we're coming with you this time. I hope we all come back together though.” His voice dripped with false sweetness.
I didn't need to turn to know it was Maximus, the son of a Delta. He was accompanied by Vidia, the healer's daughter.
We all passed through the cave and I chanted a spell. The next minute, we stood at the end of the forest.
“Wow so this is how the human world looks huh! I can't wait to find my first prey.” Maximus smiled mischievously.
“Don't cause a scene.”, I warned.
“What do you mean by “scene”, I'm simply fulfilling my role as the superior being. He sneered.
“ Ahhh – Humans!”
“I can't wait to dig my claws into their fragile little neck and rip their heads off. Right Lennox?” Maximus slammed his fists as he spoke. “Or, don't tell me you've gone soft.”
I ignored him as I made my way back to the campus.
“Humans! I would never forgive them for what they did to my mother. I would make them all pay for their sins.” I hissed through gritted teeth as my eyes turned red.
Auriana's POVI scanned the nearby counters — glass vials, surgical instruments, bandages, disinfectant — but found nothing that seemed safe. The machines around her emitted soft beeps, while the silver fluid continued to pulse through the IV line.“Ella, hang in there,” I urged, panic creeping into my voice. Her eyelids fluttered, and a faint golden light began to shimmer under her skin, spreading from her fingertips to her veins.“Auriana…” she whispered weakly, her voice barely distinguishable. “Step back.”“What? No—”“Please,” she urged, her eyes glowing more intensely.Reluctantly, I took a step back, shielding my face as light emanated from her body. The silver in the IV line started to hiss and bubble, darkening before completely evaporating. The machines went haywire, their readings spiking then flatlining.Once the light dimmed, Ella's breathing had normalized. Her skin had gained warmth and life. She inhaled shakily and looked up at me with a tired smile. “That’s better.”I
Auriana's POVMy eyes darted at the boy on my window. I was sure I didn't know him but something about home felt oddly familiar.“Who are you?” I finally asked the question that had been troubling me. He looked behind me for a minute, maybe making sure no one was around, then he finally spoke.“Can I come in first, it's pretty uncomfortable here,” he asked with a sheepish smile. Normally I should have said no, after all, it wasn't safe letting a stranger in but to my surprise, I nodded and gave way as he jumped into my room.“Now, can you tell me who you are?” I demanded once he was inside.Instead of answering, he moved closer, studying me with an intensity that made my pulse quicken. Then, to my shock, he began sniffing me — like he was trying to confirm something.“It’s you,” he murmured, his tone filled with awe.“What do you mean?” I frowned.“I wasn’t sure when I got here,” he said slowly, “but now that I’ve seen you, I’m certain — you’re the one he’s been talking about.”“He?”
Auriana's POVI laid on my bed, tired of everything as my mind kept replaying the principal's words. My punishment— death….My death and mostly…. Lennox's death if I didn't marry Liam.I couldn't do that. I didn't even want to entertain the thought of marrying someone else. My mind drifted to Lennox. The way he looked, he couldn't even raise his head. My heart bled as I hugged my pillow tightly, reminiscing how tightly I held him last night. His scent still lingered faintly on the sheets. How I wish I could turn back time. If only I had woken up early enough, I would have stopped him from meeting with Liam. If only I knew this would happen, I wouldn't have brought him into this house….Lennox was going to be executed and it was all my fault. My choked sobs filled the room as I restlessly tossed on the bed. I felt helpless—unable to help him, I could only lie here and weep while he was being tortured. The screams resonating in my mind shattered me further. I cursed myself for being so w
Lennox's POVI laid on the ground, my mind restless, my wolf subdued. I had tried to mind link the others but it wasn't possible. I couldn't even reach my wolf.My mind felt troubled, worried something was wrong with Auriana. I couldn't explain it but I felt it. I needed to know if she was fine. But how?My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps that echoed from the shadows. I didn't bother looking. It was probably another hunter.“It is so satisfying seeing you like this—where you belong.”That voice…My head snapped up to see Liam staring at me with disdain from the cell bars.“What a surprising visit. Did you come to check on me? How kind of you,” I mocked though my voice sounded hollow.“Tsk. Like I care. I still don't know why the hunters haven't killed you,” he hissed.“That's because unlike you, I'm useful Liam. Did you know one of them offered me to join them? I guess even the hunters prefer me over you.”His expression darkened instantly.“Stay away from Auriana.
Auriana's POV“Mr. Oliver, w.. what are you doing here?” I asked, forcing my voice to sound stable though I could feel my palms get wet from nervousness.“I came over to have an important discussion with your family. Where are you going?” He asked, his eyes narrowing slightly at me.“Oh. Uhm. If that's the case, my parents are inside.” Maybe he didn't know I was grounded. This was my chance to slip away. “Anyways, I'll get going.” I said, attempting to walk away when he stopped me.“You haven't answered my question Auriana,” he insisted, a soft smile gracing his lips. “Where are you going at this hour? If I'm not mistaken you are grounded.”My face went pale. He knew I wasn't allowed to leave, which meant he probably knew the reason why. Gosh, did mum really have to rat me out to the hunters? Aren't parents supposed to protect their kids? Well, I guess her honour as a hunter was more important.“Your mother and I are doing everything to plead in your favour. So don't make things diff
Chapter 57: Offer Lennox's POVA bucket of freezing water crashed over my face, forcing my eyes open. I drew in a ragged breath, trembling as my body felt numb. I tried to move but all I felt was pain. Slowly, my gaze lowered— my feet were chained, as well as my hands.I looked around, totally clueless of where I was, only the iron bars telling me I was in a cell. I tried to shift, but my wolf wouldn't respond. That was when I felt a cold metallic object wound around my neck.It was a choker and for the strangest reason, it caged my abilities. Did humans possess magical objects too?“You're finally awake,” A voice sneered, pulling me from my thoughts. I lifted my head to see a shadow figure approach me.“Princi—”I didn’t get to finish. He seized me by the collar and slammed my head against the iron bars. Pain exploded through my skull, the world tilting for a dizzy second.“You really had me fooled with your act,” he hissed, forcing my face against the cold metal.“Now–” he continue
