CHAPTER TEN

Scarlett’s POV

As I felt someone's presence behind me, I slowly turned around and was greeted by the sight of Ethan walking towards me with a big smile on his face. My initial reaction was to stay focused and ignore him, but I couldn't help the feeling of disgust that washed over me. All I could think of was the pain that Ethan had caused me when he killed me.

I couldn't understand why he did it, but I knew deep down that it was a choice he had made. The memories of my death and the events leading up to it flooded my mind, and I couldn't help but feel a mixture of anger and sadness. I had tried so hard to move on from that tragic incident, but seeing Ethan again brought all those feelings back to the surface.

"Hey, Scarlett! Are you leaving already?" Ethan asked, catching up to me.

"Yeah, I have some things to do," I replied curtly, not wanting to engage in a conversation.

Ethan's smile faltered slightly, but he tried to keep up the cheerful facade. "Okay, well, we should hang out lat
