LOGIN“Huff!”. Both my eyes snapped open, and I sat up on the bed, panting.
I was sweating all over, and my chest felt very tight and heavy, making me clench it as I groaned in pain. “Ha- ha”. I took several deep breaths, and eventually, my body started to feel light, until I could not feel pain anymore. “What is this?”. I muttered in disbelief as I stared around my room. The same familiar room which haunted me to my death. My feet touched the ground as I continued to look around, trying to figure out what was going on. “Am- didn't I just die?”. I asked myself, before I pinched my cheek, thinking I was not going to feel any pain. But, I was wrong. I was alive. And, this… this was not the afterlife. Panicked, I rose to my feet and hurried to stand in front of the large wall mirror. The reflection in the mirror took me by surprise, and I found myself taking a step back, as I slightly shook my head in disbelief. It was my figure. I was no longer fat. I really wasn't. And my favorite swan designed nightgown fitted my body perfectly and brought out my hidden curves. Tears escaped my eyes and streamed down my cheeks, and hearing the voice I had missed so dearly, caused more tears to stream down my cheeks. ‘What's wrong, Séraphine? Are you crying right now?’. Sarah asked, making me shut my eyes tightly. “I miss you so much, Sarah. I miss you so much”. I broke down crying and fell to my knees. I really could not control my emotions. I was still trying to understand if all these things were real. ‘You are weird today, Séraphine. Did you have a nightmare?’. Sarah asked me. She was my wolf. I sniffed my nose. “Tell me, Sarah, what year are we? And… what day is today?”. I asked her. ‘Okay, now you are acting creepy’. Sarah said, but anyway, she answered my question after a brief sigh, ‘Today is 22 July, in the year 1801s. Is there any problem?”. I gasped and covered my mouth using my palm. “No- no way”. I muttered and fell to my knees. Suddenly, I felt goosebumps all over my body, as I realized that I had been reborn a year ago. I had truly been reborn. It wasn't a dream. But, it was real. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I stared at my hands. My fingers were long, slim, smooth, and were void of bruises. And my silver hair… it still shone so brightly, like the night moon itself. ‘You are really acting strange, Séraphine. Are you sure you don't need the pack’s doctor to check up on you?’. Sarah asked me, and sensing she was going to get more worried about me, I stopped crying and tried to compose myself, even though I felt overwhelmed. ‘I have told you, you shouldn't cry because of those people. They don't love us as their Luna anymore? But, you still have me. And, I have you. We have each other’. Sarah said. She must think I was behaving like this because our pack had turned their backs on us. Though, I just knew that I had to play along with her. I could not possibly tell her that we had both died and had just been given a new chance at life. I forced myself back to my feet and completely wiped off the tears on my cheeks. “You are right, Sarah. We have each other”. I said to her, knowing fully well that I wouldn't fall for the same mistake twice. The sudden sound of the door opening made me turn in the direction of the door. Even before he walked in, his scent came upon my nose, before I saw him walk in. Daxter. He looked masculine and tall as ever, with his hair shimmering like night itself, and his pair of amber eyes looking so dangerously alluring. Seeing him made me clench my fists at my sides, and a memory voluntarily played inside my head. It was the last scene I witnessed before I gave up the ghost. How he hurried to the prison cell, like he actually cared about me. If it were before, I would have looked at him with complete love and tried to please and gain his attention. But seeing him now, it felt like my heart had died. ‘What is he doing here?’. I thought, because as long as I could remember, this scene was not a part of my last life. Could it be that my reawakening had changed fate itself?I walked out of my bathroom wearing a blue gown which hugged my body and brought out my curves. And my face… it always looked breathtaking, but with the make-up I applied, it brought out the sharp look of my face and my perfect angle. ‘Séraphine, what is going on with you today? What is with the dress and the makeup? Are you celebrating something I am not aware of?’. ‘I thought you said you would not dress this way except to please him?’. Sarah said to me, sounding surprised. “People change, and I am not an exception. Besides, I didn't dress for him”. I said to her, before I unwrapped the towel on my head. At that moment, my silver hair fell over my shoulders and my back. I turned away from the mirror after having had enough of looking at myself. Just in time, the door to my bedroom opened. Kelly was back from wherever she had gone. “Sister, I am back!”. Kelly said with a giggle, as she carefully walked to the table and left a ceramic bowl there, which was filled to the brim w
Séraphine's pov, ‘Why did he look angry?’. I thought to myself because that was unlike him. And just as I was about to enter the bathroom, I heard the door of my bedroom open. I halted, wondering if Daxter had returned. But, it wasn't him, but it was her. ‘Our sister is here’. Sarah said, but calling Kelly our ‘sister’, irritated me deeply. “Big sister”. Kelly said to me, smiling so brightly as she hurried to my side and gave me a hug. She was looking so happy, not having a single clue about the anger boiling through my veins. She suddenly stopped hugging me and held my hand. “Guess what, Séraphine. I have brought you good news!”. Kelly said to me, making my heart grow cold because I recognized what today was. Today was exactly the day she introduced the tonic to me. And it was exactly the day I exercised stupidity. I had actually believed her words and even rushed to beg Daxter to plead with the council not to dismiss me as his Luna. That was how foolishly in love I was with
Daxter’s pov, As I stood in front of her, I didn't understand why I felt a certain pain go through my chest. Was it perhaps, because of the nightmare I had? About how she died in my arms?I ran my fingers through my hair as I wondered, ‘Have I been neglecting her too much? Is that why I had such a dream?’. “Greetings, Alpha”. Séraphine greeted me with a small bow, and I nodded. But, I felt something off. I could not see any spark in her eyes. Usually, there was this spark in her whenever I appeared in the picture. But, it wasn't like that now. Her gaze looked blank, with her face void of any smile. “Are you sick?”. I asked her. “No, I am not. Thanks for worrying about me, Alpha”. Séraphine said to me, and before I could tell her about the council meeting, and how her presence would be needed, she asked me, “Is there any problem, Alpha?”. The tone of her voice was something that took me unaware. Was this still the same Luna I saw yesterday? What seems to have changed today?

“What would I have done without you, Kelly?”. I asked, before I stopped hugging her. “Don't cry anymore, Séraphine. It only makes you look ugly”. Kelly wiped off the tears on my cheeks as she said, before she smiled ever so brightly at me. The same smile which was enough to melt down my heart. “Come in with the food. My big sister must be starving”. Kelly said, and just then, an omega maidservant who was holding a tray of food stepped into the prison. She set the tray on the run-down table, before she was excused by Kelly. “I know you must be hungry. Come and have a seat. I want you to eat”. Kelly said to me, before she held my hand and led me to sit with her in front of the table. She grabbed a spoon and gave it to me. I didn't want to cry, but staring at the food made my eyes teary, to the point I almost could not control my emotions. I accepted the spoon from her and scooped a big portion of meat soup. As soon as the food touched my tongue, tears streamed down my cheeks. It
Séraphine’s pov, ‘Am- am I going to die?’. I thought to myself, as I hugged my legs tightly on the ground. My lips had cracked and looked barely alive. My face… pale, and every single muscle in my body was screaming for help. It was clear. I was on the brink of death, after spending a cruel and agonizing time in the cell. ‘I- I can't die yet. I need to see him one more time. He must believe I never did it’. I bit my lower lip in regret and trembled as I thought to myself. With the bit of strength left in me, I crawled to the iron bars, sitting before it as I held onto it. “Plea-”. I tried to say something, but coughed violently, while I clenched my chest tightly. My throat was completely dried. I can not remember the last time I had a decent cup of water. “Plea-se”. I forced myself to say and took a deep breath. My once bright vision had started to fade, and even breathing became a pain to my chest. “I- I need to see him”. I added, but the response I got in return was their
