Alpha Callan’s POV
I paced my office, looking through the reports on my desk for the hundredth time, not finding anything new. It has been three days since Raina has been taken. Three days since rogues came on to my pack territory and were able to capture her easily. The rogues had clearly been studying the patrols of the territory line and knew exactly when to move through the area undetected.
Elder Rosemarie was able to identify the rogues and I knew as soon as she described them to me that they were Xavier’s men. Xavier had been trying for some time to organize the rogues into a pack, and he had pretty much succeeded. We knew that he had a large pack of rogues. We had some idea of where the pack was located, but it was only a rough idea.
I pushed the papers off my desk, frustration mounting. “FUCK!” I yelled, my anger rising.

The sound of birds chirping outside made me almost forget where I was. The sounds were peaceful, but I was anywhere but someplace peaceful. “STOP!” I yelled. Both stopped fighting and the extent of their injuries was clear. Sadness and regret suddenly washed over me and I had to sit back down. Anxiety and anticipation propelled me and I jumped out of bed and yanked at the door, hoping that it would open. It did not move.
