Chapter 209

Jordan holds his hands up in defence as I take a few deep breaths to calm myself before turning to the rest of the room to acknowledge our other guests.

"Alpha Jonathan, Luna Suzie, beta Willow, sorry for my tardiness, how is Maxwell?" I ask taking my seat next to Elias, pushing my anger down for now, eyeing up Jordan in the cornor of my eye, I'm not done with you yet, I think to myself.

"No problem Luna Winters, father is doing well and thoroughly enjoying his retirement," he smiles with a nod of his head, which we return, "thank you for asking." Jonathan took over as alpha of the west pack two years ago with his mate Suzie and appointed Willow Steal as the first female beta of the west pack. She is a strong minded woman with a powerful right hook.

"Alpha Alex, Luna Ela and beta Karl, welcome and thank you for coming today," Elias smiles to the leaders of the Spring rise pack from the south, who joined our alliance about four years ago.

With the greetings done and out of the way, we get down to business, as usual, the east pack are demanding everything and more. But in my current mood and anger towards the man, I am being stubborn and not caring to keep my luna manners going for just him. With every snip at his words and groans at his requests, Suzie, Ela and Willow give me concerning looks, especially my fellow Luna's.

"Chilli? Are you okay?" Ela whispers to me as we break for refreshments, "whats up with you?" She questions,

"I'm fine," I snip back more than I mean too.

"You seem to be on edge," she states as she stirs the milk into her coffee.

"Yeah, your not pregnant again, are you?" Suzie asks, joining us as she picks up a freshly baked pastry from the basket and takes a bite, probably remembering my hormone swings when I was pregnant with Marcus.

"Goddess no, I hope not," I retort before taking a breath and softening my face, "I'm sorry girls, I know, I'm being a bit..."

"Bitchy?" Erin suddenly chimes in from behind me. Even though I've been friends with the others for awhile now, Erin is still the only one who has the balls to call me on my bitchiness so casually.

"I was going to say stressy or mean, but bitchy works too," I chuckle.

"I know Jordan can be an ass and be a piece of work, but ..." Willow trails off before asking, "has something happened we should know about?" The ladies all look at me with a professional worried looks as I stir the third spoon full of sugar into my husbands very milky tea.

"Just," I sigh, "his son has made some comments to mine at school that I am far from happy about." The ladies gasp as Suzie asks,

"Oh no, what did Marcus say he said?"

"Is it bad?" Ela inquires,

"No, Lily told me this morning before drop off,"

"Oh, I love that girl, so protective of her little brother," Willow chuckles, "a great leader in the making just like her mum."

"Wish my two were that close and nice to each other," Suzie sighs, "what did he say?" My anger starts to boil up again as I grip the spoon in my hand tight,

"Sorry Chilli, we don't mean to upset you," Ela adds at seeing my reaction.

"It doesn't matter because it's not true, but anyway, I'll have it out with him before this meeting is over," I promise with a burning fire in my eyes.

"Oh no, watch out girls," Erin jests, "the red wolf is coming out to play, better watch yourselves," she chuckles.

Elias POV

The meeting is slowly and finally coming to an end as I feel Chilli's rage and annoyance towards Jordan escalate with every word out of his stupid mouth, matching my own. I don't know how either of us have kept it together this long. Even after the break when she seemed to have calmed down slightly whilst she was chatting with the other women at the drinks table, but when she returned, she seemed as fired up as ever.

As alpha Jonathan talks about a new product he and his beta are looking to promotes I watch Jordan out of the corner of my eye, it feels like he has been goating us all morning, as if looking for a reaction from me. But if he is not careful he will get a different, bigger reaction he really won't like from Chilli, because after what Lily told us his little pup has been saying to our son, we are far from happy with him, our alliance with him is barely holding on by a thred as it is. I could feel Chilli's sudden spike in anger from here when she was still dropping the kids off. Understandably so, that word is horrible and extremely untrue, and Jordan knows that.

"So," Jordan says, twizziling in his chair, "are we done?" I can't help but shoot him a look, the audacity.

"Why? Got somewhere to be?" Jonathan asks,

"Or someone to do," his mate mutters under her breath as the table fights to contain their smiles and chuckles. He shoots her a look, but I don't really get why. It's no secret he still sleeps with everything that moves or throws themselves at him. He found a mate about six years ago, a sweet little thing. Jordan got three pups out of her in the space of three years, the first, who is in Marcus's class was born just a couple of months before him, a carbon copy of his father. At least Nathan had the good sence to be more subtle about his behaviour and affairs.

"There is one more think to be discussed," Chilli clears her throat, leaning forward in her chair as Erin leads back slowly followed by the other women in the room, then their mates, looking concerned and confused. Jordan rolls his eyes which is a big mistake as he asks,

"Yes, Luna Charlotte, and what might that be?" Oops, that wasn't wise, using her full name like that, a ever so low growl ripples from her lips.
