Maliyla's POV

Having Dr. Neal tell me that I had not accepted the rejection was not what I expected. Naturally, I assumed that I had accepted Erick's rejection; after all, it's not like it was written in a fucken HOW TO GUIDE. My initial reaction to Dr. Neal's statement was one of surprise and confusion. It was unsettling to find that I had believed I had accepted Erick's rejection and that I hadn't. It made me question my self-awareness, and it was definitely not the information I had hoped to get, especially after a great day like today. Oh hell, nothing that's happened in the past six months up to now was expected. In addition, Hector telling me I could choose to return home or stay here was another surprise in this conversation. The idea of going back to Erick was out of the question. I loved my parents and longed to see them, but their betrayal made it far too easy to say 'NO,' and there was no way in hell I was re

  • The Rejected Alpha's Heart   Chapter 70

Hector's POVMotherfucker had a lot of fuckin balls, showing up like that. There was a look of confidence on his face that I knew would be difficult to break down. It was getting harder to control Jasper as he was ready to come out. As I glanced at Jonathan, he held Katia protectively in his arms. The first thing that came to mind was Maliyla, then Katia and her current state, and then all the people in the restaurant, some of whom were humans. There was one rule I had for wolves: they should never shift in the presence of humans. The rumors had been heard, but nothing had been seen, and I wanted to keep it that way."Jonathan," I said through the mind-link as I nodded at him. No words were needed to express what we were thinking. Katia was immediately moved behind him. Then Daunte stood up, stepping in front of Katia. Taking a seat, Maliyla leaned back. The expression on her face was

  • The Rejected Alpha's Heart   Chapter 69

Maliyla's POVThe thought of ripping her head off was excruciating. The fact that she touched my mate with her unpolished hand was enough to cause her death. Without even realizing it, I walked towards her out of anger. I could feel everyone's gaze on us. There was an undeniable tension in the air.She smirked as I looked into her dark brown eyes. "Is it Natalia?" I asked. In response, Natalia nodded. "Well, Natalia, I believe you are mistaken. First of all, Hector told me about you and the engagement, and I accepted his past just like he did mine. My second point is that you may have had him once, but I have him all the time now," I paused as I swiped my hair to the side, revealing Hector's mark on my neck. "Lastly and most importantly, if you come near my mate again or refer to him as anything apart from his title, I'll rip your fucken heart out. Am I making myself unclear?" I questioned menacingly.

  • The Rejected Alpha's Heart   Chapter 68

Hector's POVAfter Gisselle's funeral, Maliyla locked herself in the room. It didn't seem like anything I said made a difference. In an attempt to get her to talk, I asked Katia for help, but even she was unable to make any progress. Maliyla's grief seemed all-consuming and impenetrable, leaving me feeling helpless and frustrated. Her withdrawal from the world emphasized that the pain of losing Gisselle was too overwhelming for her to bear, and my efforts to comfort her felt futile.Daunte sent a team to the location where we tracked Erick's phone, but they were unsuccessful. As Jonathan suspected, they had relocated by the time the team arrived. It had to be given to him. He was a clever motherfucker. In an attempt to give Maliyla some space, I turned my attention to finding Erick. Daunte had been inspecting the area we had mapped with Jonathan, and as they discussed every possible l

  • The Rejected Alpha's Heart   Chapter 67

Maliyla's POVTwo days laterErick's text message shook us all to the core. The worst part was that Katia's mom was caught up in all of this, which made me feel even worse. Despite her assurances that she wasn't upset, I couldn't shake the feeling that it was all my fault. I struggled with intense internal conflict and overwhelming self-blame. The weight of responsibility pressed heavily on my shoulders, as I couldn't help but replay the events in my mind and wonder if there was something I could have done differently to prevent this situation. As it turned out, Jonathan had gone to see Dr. Neal with Katia, which I was glad he had done. It was even more reason to celebrate when they returned to report that everything went well and the baby was healthy. Despite being happy for them, I couldn't help but wonder why I hadn't become pregnant. It wasn't that I was in a hurry, but I was sur

  • The Rejected Alpha's Heart   Chapter 66

Maliyla's POVThe announcement that Katia was pregnant was the best news that could have come our way, given our current circumstances. It was something Jonathan had always wanted, so I was thrilled to see him finally getting what he always wanted: a mate and a house full of pups. It was a joy for Katia as well. She always dreamed of having a big family. They were entering the beginning of the most beautiful chapter in their lives.Jonathan had arranged for Katia to see Dr. Neal earlier in the week. Unfortunately, he could not attend with the Onyx Fang Pack on its way. As a result, I offered to go in his place. My alarm went off at five AM that morning. As I reached over, I noticed Hector's side of the bed was empty. As he had done when he proposed, he left a note and a white rose."Went for a run. I'll be back soon. Ti Amo""I love that man," I thought as I got out of bed, stretched, and headed to the bathroom. When I reached the sink, I turned on the co

  • The Rejected Alpha's Heart   Chapter 96

Maliyla's POV"Hector and Maliyla, you have come together this day so that the Moon Goddess may seal and strengthen your love in the presence of the Crystal Blood Pack, family, and friends. So, in the presence of this gathering, I ask you to state your intentions: Is this a free and unconditional commitment to give yourselves to each other in marriage? If so, answer I have,' the priest instructed."I have," both Hector and I said simultaneously. The priest nodded and continued. "Very well, let us remember marriage symbolizes love and devotion between two people. We remember that love is patient, kind, doesn't envy, doesn't boast, isn't proud. It is not rude; it isn't self-seeking, keeps no record of wrongs, and is not easily angry. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices. A spirit always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres. It is my understanding that Luna and Alpha have writte
