Vanessa's POV

I was still struggling to catch my breath.

My hands were shaking, and my heels kept clicking too fast against the marble floor as the guards dragged us down the hallway. Camilla stayed quiet beside me, her face pale and her eyes wide like she was about to pass out.

Heck, my chest burned from the embarrassment. I had just been thrown out of a royal banquet. Thrown out! In front of nobles. In front of Alphas. In front of Selene.

I wanted to shout at the top of my lungs.

How did it even get this bad? I had thought Camilla would be honoured, maybe even respected, if she walked in as Victor’s Luna. But no. We were humiliated instead. Completely humiliated.

And Selene? That… that witch stood there with her smug little face like she owned the world. Like she wasn’t the same pathetic girl who used to sneak into the kitchen at night to cry when no one was watching.

I let out a sigh the moment we stepped into a quiet waiting lounge near the exit. The guards had finally let us go.
