Selene's POV

Caz looked at her for a long second. His eyes didn’t hold anger, just pain.

Then he let out a slow breath, his shoulders falling as he turned away. His boots moved across the gravel, quiet and heavy. I watched his back as he walked farther from her, farther from the thing they once had.

Elara took a step like she might follow him, but I moved between them before she could.

“He doesn’t want to see you right now,” I said firmly.

She blinked up at me, her eyes still teary and red. But I didn’t care.

“He is not in a place to listen to your excuses. Not today,” I added. “If you push him now, you will only make it worse.”
