Victor's POV

The castle doors slammed shut behind me, but the sound didn’t silence the storm in my head. Even with Camilla’s hand wrapped around my arm, I could barely feel her.

All I could think about was Selene.

The way she looked at me… like I was a stranger. Like I meant nothing to her anymore. That cold, steady look in her eyes, full of pain, but also full of strength—followed me as I walked out.

And her words. “I rejected you… I’m divorcing you... I don’t care what you think anymore.”

She used to be soft. Quiet. Obedient. She used to follow me with her eyes like I hung the damn moon. Now she was bold. Sharp. Like she had finally woken up.

And I couldn’t, for the life of me, understand why.

I glanced down at Camilla. She was still clinging to me like a child lost in a storm. Her head was resting against my chest, her sobs too loud, too shaky. I didn’t know if it was real or just another act, but I let her hold on. Because I didn’t know what else to do.

We stepped into the car. Th
