“Mallory.” He called again.

Bracing herself, Mallory turned around, meeting him eye to eye. “Alpha Leofric. Is there something you need?”

Despite getting called by only her name, Mallory didn’t try to do the same while addressing him.

It might be her imagination, but a hint of discomfort flashed in his eyes. “Just call me by my name.”

“I can’t, Alpha Leofric,” Mallory said with a respectful tone. “Your status is something I can’t ignore.”

“You can drop the formalities when there’s only the two of us.” Not backing down, Leofric still tried making her drop it.

Mallory can’t understand. How does what she calls him matter? She looked around and gestured towards the servants and sneaky guards as if to prove her point. “We’re not alone.”

However, what he did next made her jaw almost drop.

Leofric looked at everyone and ordered sternly. “Leave us alone. And don’t let anyone near us until I say so.”
