Chapter 14

Zayne's soft expression made my heart flutter, releasing butterflies in my stomach. Though the physical pain from the attack still hurt but Zayne coming to her rescue when she could have been killed and his visible show of concern, tended to her wounds and made it hurt less.

Zayne cleared his throat and picked up her bag that had been displaced during the scuffle,  from the ground and handed it to her. "Follow me. You need to treat your wounds. "

I glanced at my shoulder and looked at him raising my eyebrows,  "Uhmmmm, follow you to where?"

He gave me a blank look, "Do you want treat your wounds or rather leave it to rot?"

Now that was the Zayne I was used to. The sarcastic and arrogant Zayne Marshall, who actually cares but pretends like he doesn't.
