1. Decisions: Breeder or Alpha's slave

“You are an Omega Colette. I have been offered a great position at the Royal Lycan Castle. I just can’t take you as my mate,” My future mate Alex begins.  “But maybe I can keep you as my breeder. Our pups will be so strong!”

    I step back from him with a look of shock on my face. He left for Royal warrior training. Promised to finally claim me as his proper mate upon his return. Now I'm seeing my sister Bela standing next to our Alpha. I am so confused. Then see Alex take my sister's hand.

    “Colette, if I may just say that a rejected omega would be frowned upon here at this pack. Your family's reputation would suffer in this pack. You can either go as his breeder or you stay here and work in the castle for me.” Alpha Erin speaks.

    My sister gasps snatching her hand away. She has always hated me even though my parents spoiled her rotten. Now she is taking my mate. She looks at me with such hatred.

    “Alexander! I will not share you with her!” Bela points at me like I am so beneath her. Like we don't have the same parents. I was the only one that didn't get my wolf.  I am an Omega and my entire family are all of Beta blood.

    “Shush! Bela I will handle this. I will claim you. I am doing what is right in this situation,” he warns her. Then I see it. The way he holds her. The way he touches her even without knowing it.

    “You two have been sleeping together, haven’t you?” I asked Alex as he exhaled, looking towards Bela. She smiles, leaning against his side.

    “Yes dummy. I was giving him something he actually wanted. A high-ranking mate. I can also give him high-ranking pups!” she looks over at Alex as he exhales.

    “Look. Colette, we have a chance for our families to be higher ranking. You come along, and I can put you in a cottage on the outskirts of the Royal Pack. You will stay out of the way. Then my sweet Bela will be the one everyone sees.” Alex looks between us.

    “I have suffered a lot waiting for my mate. This is my chance. Our families agreed that this is what will happen,” Bela adds.

    “What about my opinion!” I exclaim.

    “You have the choice of being his breeder, and they will raise the pups, or you can stay here and work in the castle. Being here for your Alpha in any way he needs.” Alpha Erin gives me a lustful smile. I see either way I will be someone’s concubine.

    “I would rather be a rogue than offer myself to you,” I told Alex. “I can’t believe you would do this to me? To us! After all the years of me waiting for you to claim me. You were never going to, were you?”

    “Of course I was. But that was before I got the position.”

    “That would also be when my sister began to take notice of you.”

    “No, we had a connection that your mate bond could not touch,” Bela tells me. I see the writing on the wall. I have no other option but to run.

    “So, what will it be Colette? You know I will take good care of you,” Alex tells me with a small smile. I scan the room as looks of lust come from the Alpha. Then to my sister, who looks like she wants me dead. I hate it here. I hate everything about this place. But one thing I know is I have to make a decision. Now.

    “I’ll do it.” I hold my head down, wrenching my fingers together, barely audible.

    “I promise you will be so happy baby!” Alex steps towards me. But the moment he moves, I flinch back in pain. Then Bela pulls back at him with anger. "Now we can go home and plan our mate bond! We can have a huge dinner tonight at your home with both families. You will see that this will work our perfectly!" Alex tells us as I stood there trying to keep the tears from falling. I stare into space.

    

   “Colette! I need you!” I hear my sister call from her bedroom down the hall.  from my own. “Now!”

    “Took you long enough. How do you expect me to prepare for my new position if you won’t get everything packed up for me?” She plops down on her bed dramatically as she looks at her nails. Two suitcases sitting open on her bed with only a pair of shoes in them. “Well, get to it! I need all my stuff packed. Make sure you are delicate with my lingerie. Alex really likes me in them.”

    “Yes Bela.” I felt resigned as I began to take her clothes from her drawers and place them in the suitcases. Goddess, I wish I was strong enough to stand up to them all. But I have always felt like I was a waste of space around them. When I never got my wolf, it was like it was confirmed that I deserved nothing.

    “I said fold them delicately you twit!” She snatches a garment from me. His nails raking across my hand. Digging into my skin as I gripped my hand close to my chest as I felt the blood seep. “Great! Now you are going to get blood on my clothes! Go clean yourself and hurry back!”

    I ran to the bathroom and ran my hand under the cold running water. I examine my hand, seeing that I am healing already. Is this new? I have never been able to heal fast. I know if my sister sees it, that it will only cause problems for me. So, I decided to wrap it in a bandage. That way I will have a few days to act like it is healing. I don’t want any questions about my new development. With any luck, I will be able to get my wolf and then run away from this new life that is being thrown at me.

When i return, Bela is sitting at her vanity brushing her golden blonde locks. She eyes me from the mirror.

    “You know he is only bringing you because he feels guilty. You have always wanted what I have. For the first time, you get to see what it feels like. I deserve him, you know.” She stares, pursing her red lips at me.

    “Sure Bela,” I reply.

    “You should be thankful. I heard Alpha has a sick obsession with omegas. It would be so much worse for you here. Especially with everyone knowing your mate rejected you? Your life would is so embarrassing.”
