Bennett Landon

Hilary walked towards the open doors and stopped.

"Oh, my goodness."

I stood behind her, watching as she took in the view.

"This is beautiful," she whispered.

"Do you like it?"

She turned to me with an expression that made the question unnecessary.

"Like it? Bennett, I love it!"

I smiled. "Good. Because we'll be staying here for the next few days."

She wrapped her arms around my waist.

"Thank you."

I rested my hands on her back. "You're welcome, wife."

She tilted her head to look

Bennett Landon"Good morning, sir."I looked up from the report on my desk. The head of Human Resources stood in front of me, holding a folder."Good morning. Is there something you need?""Yes, sir. The Director of Corporate Strategy position is still vacant. We have a few candidates who meet the requirements. Should we proceed with recruitment?"I closed the report."Not yet. Hold off for now. I'll let you know when we're ready to fill the position.""Of course, sir. I'll inform the recruitment team.""Thank you."After she left, I turned back to my desk. Damon's resignation had left an important position vacant, but I wasn't in a hurry to replace him. The last thing I needed was to bring someone into the company without being certain I could trust them.A knock sounded against the door."Come in."My assistant stepped inside. "Sir, the board members and investors are waiting in the conference room. The meeting is scheduled to begin shortly."I checked the time and pushed my chair b

Hilary Landon "What do you mean he was the one who took me there?" he asked.I watched him closely, trying to make sense of his reaction. He listened for a moment before speaking again."Are you certain?"Another pause."Alright. Thank you, Nate."He ended the call but remained silent, staring at his phone."Bennett?" I moved closer. "What's wrong?"He looked up at me, still wearing a puzzled expression."That was Nate. He found out who took me to the hospital after the incident.""Who was it?""Damon."I blinked. "Damon?"He nodded slowly."Apparently, he was the one who brought me in. He also instructed the hospital staff not to reveal his identity."For a moment, I didn't know what to say.Damon had deliberately taken Bennett back to the building where Adrian died. He knew what that place meant to him. He had watched him struggle and eventually collapse under the weight of memories he had spent years trying to bury.Yet, he had also taken him to the hospital."That's strange," I f

Hilary WindsorThe past few weeks had been exhausting, but I was beginning to see the results of my hard work.Windsor Couture was slowly finding its place again. After everything Vivian had done, I hadn't expected the company to recover so quickly, but the response from the public had been encouraging. Our latest designs were receiving positive attention, and more people were beginning to show interest in the brand. We had also received a few new enquiries from potential clients. It wasn't where I wanted the company to be yet, but it was progress.I spent most of the morning reviewing designs with the creative team before attending a meeting with the marketing department. There were still several things I wanted to improve, and I wasn't willing to rush the process.By early afternoon, I was going through some documents in my office when Lana informed me that someone wanted to see me."Who is it?" I asked, without looking up."Mr Nicholas Windsor."My hand stopped moving.I slowly rai

Bennett LandonDamon stared at me for a moment before finally speaking."Didn't expect to see you here.""Neither did I expect to find you here."He gave a faint, humourless smile before picking up his glass."So, what brings you here?""You resigned."His expression remained unchanged."Yes, I did.""Why?" I asked.Damon took a sip of his drink before placing the glass back on the table."Shouldn't you be happy that I left? We both know you hate me. Especially after what happened at the building."I studied his face.Hate him?I wasn't sure I would describe it that way. I disliked him, certainly. I disliked the fact that he'd never trusted me and had once accused me of something I hadn't done. More than anything, I disliked how easily he'd used my past against me.But there had been a time when Damon was one of the people closest to me. We grew up together, and I'd once considered him a brother. It wasn't that easy to forget."I didn't ask why you resigned because I wanted to celebra

Bennett Landon I was seated on the couch in my study, reviewing a few documents on my laptop when my phone rang. It was my executive assistant."Good morning, sir.""Good morning. What's the update?""Everything is running smoothly, sir. I've sent the reports you requested to your email. There are a few documents that require your approval, and the finance department is waiting for your confirmation on the revised budget.""I'll review them shortly. Is there anything else?"There was a brief pause before he spoke again."Yes, sir. There's something concerning Mr. Damon. He submitted his resignation letter the day after your incident."I stopped scrolling through the document on my screen."He did what?""His resignation letter, sir. It was submitted to the human resources department. He stated that he was stepping down from his position with immediate effect."I leaned back against the couch, trying to make sense of what I'd just heard.Damon had resigned?I hadn't expected that.Aft

Hilary LandonMorning light filtered through the curtains, gently illuminating the bedroom. I stirred beneath the covers and turned towards Bennett, who was still asleep beside me.For a moment, I simply watched him. After everything that had happened yesterday, seeing him resting peacefully brought me some comfort. He looked better than he had at the hospital, but I couldn't stop worrying about him. The doctor's advice had been clear. He needed rest, and I intended to make sure he got it.I brushed a few strands of hair away from his forehead, careful not to wake him. However, he stirred almost immediately, his eyes slowly opening."Good morning, beautiful."A smile tugged at my lips. "Good morning. How are you feeling?""Better now that you're here."I rolled my eyes playfully. "That's not an answer."He chuckled, shifting closer. "I'm fine, sweetheart. A little tired, perhaps, but I'm fine.""Good. Because you're not going anywhere today."His eyebrows lifted. "Is that an order?""
