Helena didn't know that what her aunt said was about their company's anniversary celebration.
"You're beautiful," Serena praised when she saw Helena's appearance which looked so beautiful. "But, Auntie, is this necessary?" Helena looked doubtful. "Of course. Come on, let's go now." Serena refused to respond to Helena's doubts about her aunt's plan. They went to the event venue which was held at a five-star hotel. The guests had started to arrive, even the media crew was waiting along the hotel yard. Helena realized the commotion outside the car they were riding in, her forehead wrinkled deeply, feeling uncomfortable with it. "Auntie," Helena whined like a child while looking at her aunt. Serena didn't let Helena protest anymore and chose to answer the phone call on her cellphone so that Helena wouldn't convey her complaints. The car they were riding in stopped in front of the hotel door with a long red carpet underneath it that reached the hotel lobby. On the right and left sides of the red carpet, reporters had been waiting while capturing the moments of every guest who came. "Come on, we have to get off," Serena said without caring about Helena's discomfort. Realizing that her complaint would not be responded to by her aunt, Helena had no choice but to obey and get out of the luxury car. The media crew immediately pointed their camera lenses at them, more precisely at Serena who was known as a successful businesswoman both abroad and at home. Serena showed her graceful smile, greeted the media crew in a friendly manner, and held Helena's arm to walk with her. Although feeling uncomfortable, Helena obeyed and showed a small smile throughout walking on the red carpet without intending to answer the questions thrown by the media crew because Serena herself only smiled. Once far from the media crew, Helena let out a sigh of relief which made her aunt laugh a little. "You're safe now. Just enjoy the party, Auntie is waiting for you inside," Serena said while looking at Helena and observing the girl's appearance again with a smile. "You're beautiful, so be confident and show who you are, Helena. After all the suffering you've been through for the past three years, you must know what to do, right?" Serena's words immediately reminded Helena of the insults she received from her ex-husband's family, and the accusations of infidelity that had nothing to do with Helena. "Auntie, please go ahead." Serena stroked Helena's arm for a moment then left the girl in the hotel lobby. "That's right. Helena has to show the world who she is now." The commotion of the media crew caught Helena's attention when she found out who had come this time, then she smiled widely when she saw the figure walking gracefully towards her. Helena waited until the figure entered and arrived in front of her. "Aren't you surprised?" Helena pursed her lips as the figure stood straight in front of her. "No. Auntie already told me. However, I am fascinated by you, Miss," Philip said, making Helena chuckle. "You are very beautiful. I haven't seen your smile for a long time," the man added, making Helena turn her head towards Philip. Helena always felt a strong pull when she was near Philip, making Helena seem unable to stop herself from putting her arms around Philip's neck and hugging him. Her body's reflexes were beyond Helena's control. "You look handsome tonight too, Brother Philip," Helena greeted him right in his ear. Philip returned Helena's hug, hugging the girl's body to his. "Thank you for coming back," Philip said sincerely. Helena nodded and completely ignored the camera lenses of the participants who were taking their photos. All Helena felt now was the warmth that Philip had. Even though she knew Philip was Helena's older brother, the pull made the girl unable to let go of Philip until her gaze caught a familiar figure. Only then did Helena release her hug from Philip. "Come on, let's go in together. Auntie must be waiting," Helena invited without caring about the surprised expression of the figure who had just come from beside Helena, probably from the toilet. Philip just nodded then stretched out his hand for Helena to hold. Not refusing what Philip did, Helena greeted him happily and even smiled broadly while looking at the man. They entered the hall where the event was taking place. The guests had started to fill the hall and seemed to be enjoying the dishes served, or just chatting with relatives, chatting in the corner of the hall. Helena looked around to find her aunt. "Auntie is over there," Philip pointed briefly to the front. Helena nodded. On her way to her aunt, Helena's ears caught the conversation of the guests, one of whom Helena recognized, but the girl tried not to care. Their steps stopped when someone greeted Philip. "What are you doing here?" whispered the woman Helena had passed and stopped a few steps near her. Helena ignored her. Pretending not to hear, which made the glamorous woman stare sharply at Helena who was wearing a dark blue dress. Her appearance did look simple with a black blazer covering her slender body. "Isn't that your daughter-in-law, Janet?" asked another woman with a glass of red wine in her hand. Helena listened to the whispers intently. "No!" The woman denied it loudly, surprising her friends. Clearing her throat softly to neutralize the atmosphere. Janet said goodbye to her friend and walked towards the woman who was said to be her daughter-in-law. An angry expression was visible on Janet's face and she walked quickly towards Helena who looked relaxed standing next to Philip who was still chatting with his acquaintance. Helena waited for what her ex-mother-in-law would do. As soon as she reached Helena, Janet immediately pulled her hand and pulled the girl roughly, even gripping Helena's wrist tightly. "Come with me," Janet whispered without moving her mouth. Of course, Helena couldn't just leave and just turned her head, pretending to be surprised. "Let go of me. What are you doing, miss?" Helena asked, making Philip turn his head towards her. Janet glared at Helena, not accepting the girl's attitude. "You bitch! What are you doing here? You're embarrassing me!" Janet said with curses, Helena tried her best not to scream or she would be the centre of attention and her image would be tarnished. Helena stared back at Janet, not at all afraid like before, this time bolder. "Of course, I came for this event. I-" "For this event?" Janet snapped sarcastically. "A bitch like you doesn't deserve to be here, damn it," she insulted. Hurt. Helena just stared at her ex-mother-in-law with hatred. Seeing Janet reminded Helena of what the woman had done, and how she had been kicked out in such a despicable manner. "Stop saying that," Helena said in pain. Janet didn't care. "You don't even know who I am. So, I will prove who I am so that you regret everything you've done to me," Helena said as she forcefully let go of Janet's grip. Helena's gaze was still fixed on Janet who couldn't believe Helena's refusal to take off the black blazer she was wearing earlier and then leaving Janet there after someone took the blazer from Helena, making her aura shine. The dark blue sleeveless dress attracted a lot of attention from the guests. Realizing what Helena was doing, Serena immediately went up on stage and asked for the guests' attention. It just so happened that at that time Serena was about to deliver a speech at the JF Group's 40th anniversary celebration. "First of all, I would like to thank all of you who have come to the Jerome Family Group's 40th anniversary celebration. For those of you who know JF Group, you must know its history. Tonight, I will not explain the history of our family company anymore. However, instead, I will introduce someone special to the audience,” Serena widened her smile as Helena got closer to her. Helena knew that her aunt was waiting for her on stage, and the girl was aware of the plan made by her aunt to invite Helena to the company's anniversary celebration. "Come, let me introduce to you, the future heir of JF Group, Helena Heylana Jerome!" Serena's voice boomed on the stage filling the hall with one hand pointing at Helena who was walking towards the stage. All eyes were on the girl who walked gracefully among the guests towards the stage. The glass that was held by Jimy who was present at the event just fell. Even Janet seemed to lose her footing, almost falling when she heard who Helena was, and the girl was standing right next to Serena. She is Helena Hellana Jerome, the heir of JF Group, a multi-international company that dominates various fields throughout the Morphile country. Who doesn't know JF Group? A giant company that is always in the first place. The billionaire princess has made a stir again. Helena's gaze was fixed on one point with determination to avenge the pain and humiliation she received. However, another fact awaited the girl ahead. Something big."Come in!” Helena shouted to someone who knocked on her office door. A man who was her assistant entered. The man stood two steps in front of her desk. “What’s wrong?” Helena asked, stopping her activity of checking documents for a moment. “I’ve got the information you ordered, Director,” said Koa as he placed a brown folder on Helena’s desk. “But…,” Koa seemed hesitant to tell her and looked at Helena. “What’s wrong? Just tell me,” Helena ordered. “Director Philip seems to be investigating the same thing,” Koa reported, making Helena’s forehead frown. “I accidentally saw Director Philip at the scene while working on the task you ordered. But it seems like Director Philip himself intervened,” he explained later. Helen fell silent and then wondered what Philip was doing. “Does he perhaps know something?” Helena thought. “Okay. Here we go. You may go out. I’ll meet him later,” she ordered Koa. “Okay, Director.” Koa
Helena did her job well and seriously. Focusing on things that she might need later. Time passed without her realizing it, Helena had been busy at home lately, occasionally the girl came to the company to see the progress. After all, Helena would be the company's successor. She was no longer the weak Helena. No longer someone who was easily bullied. Not someone who just kept quiet when insulted. Helena was determined to change into a tough woman. "How is the progress of the new cosmetic product?" Helena asked during the meeting. "The development is only 70%, Mr. Director. We just finished making samples," answered one of Helena's subordinates during the meeting. "Can I see?" Helena asked. Someone came and gave a sample of the cosmetic product that was being developed under the supervision of Helena's company. The girl had not officially worked at the company but had often come to conduct surveys and go directly to the field. No one t
Helena just stared at the night sky filled with stars with the moon in the distance that had just risen from its orbit. Helena smiled faintly letting Philip clear the table as the waiter came to deliver their food order. After the waiter left, Helena was still staring at the sky. The girl enjoyed the blowing night breeze. "Come on, eat first, " Philip said, making Helena turn her head. The various food menus served on the table made Helena's smile even wider. "Come on, eat," the girl invited and immediately took a spoon and fork there. Philip just shook his head. Even though they hadn't met for several years, it turned out that Helena was still a girl who always liked to eat, who always liked the sky both day and night. The girl hadn't changed even though she had been locked up in her ex-husband's big house for three years. They didn't talk much while eating. Once the food was finished, Helena leaned back in her chair and s
Helena's busy life now begins. The girl struggles with a pile of papers on her desk in a special room. Of course with Philip, the man will only be there at certain times, not all the time because there must be someone to take care of him in the company even though Serena is still there. "How was your work today?" Philip leaned against the doorway of Helena's office. The girl who was sitting behind the desk and focusing on a pile of files on the table lifted her face and smiled then her face frowned. "I don't understand," the girl replied. Philip laughed and walked into the office. "Looks like it's time for a break. How about it?" Philip offered. Helena glanced at the clock on the wall of her office, then at the files on the table, then at Philip, and the girl nodded. "I guess so," she said. Philip laughed again. "Let's eat something. The butler said you haven't left this place at all since noon. Aren't you hungry?
The items Helena bought for her home office had arrived. Helena didn't want to waste time and immediately tidied up her office. The girl arranged every piece of furniture in the room neatly. "Need help?" Sara Philip interrupted when Helena had just taken a break from her activities. The girl turned her head then smiled and shook her head. "It's done," she answered in satisfaction. Philip chuckled. "Where's Angela? I don't see her anywhere." "Angela went home, come home tonight, or if not maybe tomorrow," Helena answered while leaning her butt on her desk. Her desk was inside, behind the door, and near the window facing the backyard. Philip stepped further in. Philip's gaze wandered around the room that Helena had just tidied up. "This is very typical of you, simple but elegant," Philip commented. Helena laughed. "Nice, right?" "Yes, good. Very comfortable. You might be able to move into this room later,"
The sound of the table tapping was quite surprising for Serena, Helana, and Philip. Their gazes were fixed on Angela, the perpetrator who hit the table. “Hey you guys, stop. It makes me uncomfortable,” Angela complained, unable to hold herself back. “What do you mean?” Helena didn’t care, the girl was busy feeding herself ice cream as dessert. The dishes on the table had been changed to dessert so there weren’t many plates there when Angela hit the table in annoyance. “Hey, Philip! You’re paying too much attention to Helena,” Angela said to Philip. “Oh?” Philip interrupted, looking indifferent which made Angela’s eyes widen sharply. “Damn it! You think you can treat Helena like a girl?” Angela said. “Isn’t Helena a girl?” Philip replied calmly, to which Helena herself nodded while still eating her ice cream like a child. Angela sighed tiredly. “That’s not what I meant. You guys… you guys… ah, damn it!” A
