“Good evening everyone,” Helena greeted as politely as possible while holding back her words.
The sound of applause and cheers and the flashes of camera lights caught Helena on stage with a big smile. “I will try my best when taking over Grandpa’s company. I want to thank Aunt Serena who has taken care of it for me all this time,” Helena said while looking at her aunt beside her. “That’s all, enjoy,” Helena concluded then gave the microphone to her aunt and got off the stage. Serena took over the stage, getting the attention of the guests so that Helena could leave freely, and said that all questions would be answered by Serena when they held a press conference to introduce Helena to the media crew and the public officially. As soon as Helena got off the stage and walked to the back, not one but two people rushed to her. They were Philip and Jimmy, who had been encouraged by her mother to follow Helena and talk nicely with the girl. Exiting the hall, Helena’s chest felt so tight that both of her hands were clenched at her sides. Helena, who had stage fright, must have had a hard time, but for the sake of revenge and to show her true self, the girl dared herself. "Helena!" Damn it! Helena could still recognize the voice because it was just yesterday that she left the big house of Frazier, her ex-husband's family. Followed by footsteps approaching hurriedly. Helena immediately put on a flat expression and straightened her body when Jimmy arrived in front of her. "What do you mean?" Jimmy's stupid question made Helena stare blankly at the man. "What?" asked Helena coldly. "What do you mean you're the heir to JF Group? You must be kidding?" accused Jimmy, making Helena laugh in disbelief. Even after experiencing all the insults, humiliation, and mental torture, Helena still had to hear Jimmy's accusations about the position that had been hers from the start. "Why? Are you only regretting it now?" Helena replied sarcastically. "Too bad, I've signed the divorce papers with you. You don't have the right to know," the girl continued coldly. Jimmy stared at Helena in disbelief. One of his hands reached out to grab Helena's hand. "Hey, don't joke around. I just, yesterday I lost my mind. So, let's go home," Jimmy invited without feeling guilty at all. Once again Helena laughed dryly, forcibly removing Jimmy's hand from her and staring coldly at the man. “Going home? Don’t joke around,” Helena said. “You dumped me, but now you’re acting like nothing happened yesterday?” Jimmy tried to grab Helena’s hand again, but Helena immediately lifted it and took two steps back. “Don’t you ever try to touch me with your dirty hands again,” Helena said sharply. The man looked shocked. “Honey,” Jimmy said in a soft tone, his forehead wrinkled and his gaze sad. Helena knew about that expression and suddenly became disgusted. “Don’t ever call me that again. Your rotten mouth doesn’t deserve to call me that.” “Helena. Don’t be like this. Let’s go home, and talk properly, hm?” Jimmy coaxed which once again made Helena laugh in disbelief. Directing her sharp gaze at the man, Helena removed the smile on her lips and became a flat and untouched expression. “You must have forgotten, I’m not your wife anymore since you forced me to sign the divorce papers,” Helena laughed again, feeling very hurt remembering Jimmy and his family’s treatment last time. “So stop acting like I’m your wife.” “No. Helena, listen to me. I didn’t know you didn’t do that. You misunderstood me, Helena. I never wanted to divorce you.” Helena’s laugh sounded so sarcastic hearing what Jimmy said. “Misunderstanding?” Helena repeated in disbelief and stared at the man who looked frustrated. “I don’t think so. And since I signed those papers, our relationship is over. I don’t care what the papers are, but from now on I’m no longer your wife, and you’re no longer my husband. So go away.” “No.” Jimmy refused, still trying to convince Helena that what happened the other day at his house was just a joke. “Helena, please listen to my explanation,” Jimmy asked as he stepped forward to grab Helena’s hand again, but the girl quickly dodged again. Exhaling, Jimmy looked back at Helena. How stupid Helena was to have ever loved the man in front of her. Even though Jimmy’s mouth begged her to listen to the man’s explanation, and admit that what happened was a misunderstanding, Helena realized that Jimmy was just playing with her. “Please, don’t go. You’re my wife, so let’s go home,” Jimmy coaxed. Helena shook her head, refusing firmly. “No. I will never go back to that place again. And just so you know, I don’t trust you anymore.” “I didn’t sign the divorce papers at all, Helena.” “I don’t care. Even if you don’t sign the divorce papers, I will never go back to a place where I was thrown away, humiliated, and degraded even though you all know nothing.” “That’s why. Because I don’t know anything about you, so I beg you, let’s go home and listen to my explanation.” Helena shook her head again and felt that she wouldn’t be able to last much longer there. “No. I will never go back or hear your explanation. So don’t ever look for me again.” After saying that, Helena turned to leave but her movement stopped when she found Philip there, waiting for Helena to talk to her ex-husband. “Helena.” Jimmy was about to approach but Helena chose to move towards Philip with a smile on her face ignoring Jimmy who was silent behind her. “You were waiting for me?” Helena looked at Philip. “Let’s go,” the girl invited while holding Philip’s arm and pulling him away from there, leaving Jimmy watching them both leave. Helena led Philip into the hotel elevator and pressed the button carelessly. As soon as the elevator door opened, Helena let go of Philip’s arm and started to move away from the man while gasping. It would be a lie if Helena was okay when talking to Jimmy, after all, she had slept in the same room as the man who became her husband. Helena desperately acted cold and flat even though her heart was so sore. Helena held herself back from running towards the man and hugging him tightly. It would be a lie if Helena didn’t want to go back, but remembering what the girl got from Jimmy’s family last time made her have no choice but to act like that. At the side of the elevator, not far from Helena who was taking a greedy breath, Philip just watched silently. Although he didn’t say much, the man knew what Helena was going through. The elevator door opened on the tenth floor and Helena came out first, still unable to control herself and staggering down the hotel hallway. As her body was almost unstable, Philip quickly grabbed Helena's waist, helping her stay upright. "Brother Philip," Helena said, groaning with tears streaming down her face. "Yes? I'm here," Philip replied. Helena sobbed. Both of her hands gripped the front of Philip's jacket. Realizing Helena needed space, Philip looked around for a safe place where Helena could cry freely. The man moved while carrying Helena walked to the end of the hall and easily opened the bedroom door. Once he entered the room and felt safe, Philip said, "Cry as much as you want. I'm here." Without needing to say twice, Helena immediately sobbed in Philip's arms, pouring everything out onto the man's broad chest who could only rub her back gently, giving comfort to the girl he loved. No one knew what would happen next, not even Philip. However, Helena, who felt her feelings were in turmoil, lifted her face to look at Philip. "Sorry," she said softly, quickly pulling the front of Philip's jacket and meeting his lips with hers. It was just a short kiss at first, and Helena was the first to break it. The two stared at each other in silence for a few minutes and who knows who started it, the kiss happened again, even more than just sticking. The two devoured each other, and Helena wrapped her arms around Philip's neck, deepening the kiss. Philip returned the girl's kiss and moved regularly. Helena ignored the fact that they were siblings because deep inside her heart there was a pull that could no longer be controlled. Helena ignored the whispers in her heart that said that what they were doing was something forbidden. Both of them couldn't hold it back, even when their breaths were fast when the kiss broke and they were already on the bed. Without caring about anything that was there, about the bond they had, the two continued the kiss even hotter than before without knowing the secret behind it."Come in!” Helena shouted to someone who knocked on her office door. A man who was her assistant entered. The man stood two steps in front of her desk. “What’s wrong?” Helena asked, stopping her activity of checking documents for a moment. “I’ve got the information you ordered, Director,” said Koa as he placed a brown folder on Helena’s desk. “But…,” Koa seemed hesitant to tell her and looked at Helena. “What’s wrong? Just tell me,” Helena ordered. “Director Philip seems to be investigating the same thing,” Koa reported, making Helena’s forehead frown. “I accidentally saw Director Philip at the scene while working on the task you ordered. But it seems like Director Philip himself intervened,” he explained later. Helen fell silent and then wondered what Philip was doing. “Does he perhaps know something?” Helena thought. “Okay. Here we go. You may go out. I’ll meet him later,” she ordered Koa. “Okay, Director.” Koa
Helena did her job well and seriously. Focusing on things that she might need later. Time passed without her realizing it, Helena had been busy at home lately, occasionally the girl came to the company to see the progress. After all, Helena would be the company's successor. She was no longer the weak Helena. No longer someone who was easily bullied. Not someone who just kept quiet when insulted. Helena was determined to change into a tough woman. "How is the progress of the new cosmetic product?" Helena asked during the meeting. "The development is only 70%, Mr. Director. We just finished making samples," answered one of Helena's subordinates during the meeting. "Can I see?" Helena asked. Someone came and gave a sample of the cosmetic product that was being developed under the supervision of Helena's company. The girl had not officially worked at the company but had often come to conduct surveys and go directly to the field. No one t
Helena just stared at the night sky filled with stars with the moon in the distance that had just risen from its orbit. Helena smiled faintly letting Philip clear the table as the waiter came to deliver their food order. After the waiter left, Helena was still staring at the sky. The girl enjoyed the blowing night breeze. "Come on, eat first, " Philip said, making Helena turn her head. The various food menus served on the table made Helena's smile even wider. "Come on, eat," the girl invited and immediately took a spoon and fork there. Philip just shook his head. Even though they hadn't met for several years, it turned out that Helena was still a girl who always liked to eat, who always liked the sky both day and night. The girl hadn't changed even though she had been locked up in her ex-husband's big house for three years. They didn't talk much while eating. Once the food was finished, Helena leaned back in her chair and s
Helena's busy life now begins. The girl struggles with a pile of papers on her desk in a special room. Of course with Philip, the man will only be there at certain times, not all the time because there must be someone to take care of him in the company even though Serena is still there. "How was your work today?" Philip leaned against the doorway of Helena's office. The girl who was sitting behind the desk and focusing on a pile of files on the table lifted her face and smiled then her face frowned. "I don't understand," the girl replied. Philip laughed and walked into the office. "Looks like it's time for a break. How about it?" Philip offered. Helena glanced at the clock on the wall of her office, then at the files on the table, then at Philip, and the girl nodded. "I guess so," she said. Philip laughed again. "Let's eat something. The butler said you haven't left this place at all since noon. Aren't you hungry?
The items Helena bought for her home office had arrived. Helena didn't want to waste time and immediately tidied up her office. The girl arranged every piece of furniture in the room neatly. "Need help?" Sara Philip interrupted when Helena had just taken a break from her activities. The girl turned her head then smiled and shook her head. "It's done," she answered in satisfaction. Philip chuckled. "Where's Angela? I don't see her anywhere." "Angela went home, come home tonight, or if not maybe tomorrow," Helena answered while leaning her butt on her desk. Her desk was inside, behind the door, and near the window facing the backyard. Philip stepped further in. Philip's gaze wandered around the room that Helena had just tidied up. "This is very typical of you, simple but elegant," Philip commented. Helena laughed. "Nice, right?" "Yes, good. Very comfortable. You might be able to move into this room later,"
The sound of the table tapping was quite surprising for Serena, Helana, and Philip. Their gazes were fixed on Angela, the perpetrator who hit the table. “Hey you guys, stop. It makes me uncomfortable,” Angela complained, unable to hold herself back. “What do you mean?” Helena didn’t care, the girl was busy feeding herself ice cream as dessert. The dishes on the table had been changed to dessert so there weren’t many plates there when Angela hit the table in annoyance. “Hey, Philip! You’re paying too much attention to Helena,” Angela said to Philip. “Oh?” Philip interrupted, looking indifferent which made Angela’s eyes widen sharply. “Damn it! You think you can treat Helena like a girl?” Angela said. “Isn’t Helena a girl?” Philip replied calmly, to which Helena herself nodded while still eating her ice cream like a child. Angela sighed tiredly. “That’s not what I meant. You guys… you guys… ah, damn it!” A
