Time passed, and in an underground clinic in Utren, where several skilled doctors operated with advanced equipment, people who preferred to lay low came to seek treatment despite fees being several times higher than those in regular hospitals.

Roderick now lay on the operating table, his eyes betraying no emotion. It seemed that Felix had been right after all—there really was a tumor in his brain. Though the doctors couldn't determine if it was about to rupture, the confirmation was enough.

Yet, Roderick felt no gratitude in his heart. He believed it was just fate not letting him die, and his mind was already plotting other schemes.
