The doctor looked at Elena with a calm expression as he straightened his white coat.

"There is no serious problem, Miss Elena. You're just tired. Make sure to rest more and don't overexert yourself."

Elena breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thank you, Doctor."

Nathan, standing by the hospital bed, folded his arms across his chest.

"Exhausted, huh?"

His voice was flat, but the look in his eyes was full of reprimand.

Elena glanced at him briefly and then looked away.

"I'm fine."

The doctor smiled slightly.

"Stay careful, Miss Elena. You're pregnant, so don't take fatigue lightly."

After getting the all-clear, Nathan drove Elena straight to her apartment. Although he didn’t say much, his gaze and demeanor clearly showed that he was still annoyed with her for being so careless in taking care of her health.

When they arrived at the apartment, the door was immediately opened by Olivia and Katty. Both of them looked happy when they saw Nathan standing next to their mommy.

Queen Elisabeth’s boutique was busy that afternoon. Several tailors walked back and forth carrying fabrics, while an assistant was arranging beads on the long table. Olivia stood in front of the large mirror with a bright expression on her face.“Mom… this is so beautiful,” she said, holding the waistline of the white dress that was only half finished.Elena—known to everyone as Queen Elisabeth—smiled with satisfaction. “Of course it’s beautiful. Who do you think Mommy is?”Olivia giggled. “Yes, yes… I fully trust you on that.”Elena stepped closer, adjusting a bit of the dress around the shoulder. “Are you comfortable? Anything too tight?”“No, it’s perfect. I love the design. Simple but elegant.”Elena nodded. “That’s because you don’t like anything complicated. Mommy purposely made it without too many embellishments so you can move freely.”Olivia gave a warm smile. “Thanks, Mom.”Meanwhile, Arnold was driving toward the boutique. On the passenger seat was a small box containing th

The next morning, the atmosphere in the small office where Olivia and Arnold worked felt quite busy. Olivia opened her laptop while checking several initial design files she needed to bring to a client meeting. Arnold had just arrived carrying two cups of coffee.“This is for you,” he said, placing one cup on Olivia’s desk.“Thanks.” Olivia smiled and took a small sip right away. “Who’s the meeting with today? You haven’t had the chance to tell me.”Arnold pulled his chair closer. “They said it’s a new client. Not a big company, but the project is decent. They want a concept for their dream home.”Olivia nodded. “Okay. Hopefully the brief is clear, because I don’t want to do five rounds of revisions like last time.”Arnold chuckled. “Relax. They said the assistant will explain everything first. The boss rarely shows up.”Just as Olivia was about to ask more, the office secretary knocked on the door. “Young Master Arnold, Young Lady Olivia, the client has arrived. They’re waiting in th

JFK Airport was crowded that afternoon, but the atmosphere felt different for Elena. She stood while clutching her small bag, unable to stay still as she waited for the arrival gate to open. Nathan stood beside her with his usual calm demeanor, though he glanced at his wife from time to time, noticing how nervous she looked.“Relax, Honey. Olivia will come out any minute now,” Nathan said, gently patting Elena’s shoulder.Elena let out a long breath. “I know… but I still can’t help feeling anxious. Our daughter hasn’t come home in such a long time. And now she’s coming back as—”“A master in construction design/architecture,” Nathan cut in with a smile. “Sounds impressive, doesn’t it?”Elena smiled, her eyes glistening. “I’m so proud. She truly made her dream come true.”A few seconds later, the automatic doors in front of them slid open. Passengers began to pour out. Elena immediately straightened her posture, her eyes scanning every face eagerly.“Mom!” Olivia’s voice rang out clear

CHAPTER 287That night, Olivia’s apartment felt calm. On her study desk lay scattered papers, pencils, and a laptop still glowing with the sketch of her competition design. She hadn’t stopped drawing since the afternoon. Every detail had to be perfect — the lines, the colors, even the shadow concept she was building on the screen.“Just a little more,” she murmured, frowning in concentration. Her eyes were tired, but her spirit hadn’t faded. The international competition was no small thing. She wanted her work to be flawless.Suddenly, the sound of her doorbell echoed. Ding-dong!Olivia turned her head. She glanced at the clock — the short hand was almost at eleven. “Who could that be at this hour?” she muttered irritably. The bell rang again, this time longer. Olivia got up reluctantly, her feet dragging across the wooden floor. “If it’s not a lost neighbor, it must be Arnold forgetting something again.”But when she opened the door, she froze.Standing there was Ricky — wearing a bl

CHAPTER 286The air of Paris greeted Olivia with a cool, soothing breeze. As soon as she stepped out of Charles de Gaulle Airport, she took a deep breath and looked up at the bright blue sky. It still felt like a dream to be back in this city — a city full of memories, yet also the place where she was rebuilding her life. After nearly an hour’s taxi ride, Olivia finally arrived at her apartment in a small neighborhood near the University of Des Beaux-Arts. The moment the door opened, a familiar scent welcomed her. The apartment wasn’t big, but it was cozy.“Home sweet home,” she murmured with a small smile. She placed her suitcase near the sofa, then opened the window curtains. Sunlight streamed in, making the room feel more alive. She had only been sitting for a few minutes to rest when she heard a knock on the door.Olivia frowned slightly. “Who could that be? I just got here.” She stood and walked toward the door. When she opened it, her eyes widened.“Arnold?” she exclaimed, half

CHAPTER 285That morning, the air at the airport was still cool. The sound of suitcase wheels scraping against the shiny marble floor mixed with the bustle of people passing by, each with their own busy faces. Olivia stood in front of the departure gate, holding her ticket and passport tightly. Beside her, Elena tried to smile even though her eyes were glistening with tears.“Mommy, are you sure it’s okay if I go now?” Olivia asked softly.Elena immediately pulled her daughter into her arms. “Of course, sweetheart. Mommy just wishes you could stay a little longer…”Olivia smiled and hugged her back tightly. “I promise I’ll video call often. And if there’s another long holiday, I’ll come home.”Nathan, who was standing not far from them, gave a small smile. “Just focus on your studies, Liv. Don’t overthink everything.”“But, honey,” Elena quickly interrupted, “what’s wrong if I ask her to study here instead? There are plenty of good universities here too, right?”Nathan let out a long
