Chapter 40

"You are awake." A deep gruff voice spoke from within her room making her startled as she gasped loudly while flinching on her place.

Her head snapped in the direction from where Damon's voice came from. Her heart pounded wildly when she found him sitting on the couch in the far corner of the darkness of the room. 

She could literally feel the coldness in the room. The ominous aura was claustrophobic, by now she was aware whenever he would be angry the weird dominating aura oozed out of him and his stance became deadly and vicious.

"I..uhh..." She was unable to speak any further because it hurts to even breath so talking was a lost cause at the moment.

"Not a word." He rasped in a deadly low voice that chilled her to the bones. She flinched on her place when he stood up and took threatening steps towards her.

Her heart started to pound wildly as she clutched the sheets to her chest tightly. She was slightly trembling now.
