"I'm gonna miss you," Kayla mumbled as she hugged Riley. "Me too, but we'll be back in a week," Riley murmured, hugging her back as both the girls parted.

Damon nodded at Fred and ruffled Kayla's hair before walking out of the packhouse. Riley was close behind as he opened the back door for her. She got inside and Damon took his seat in the passenger seat. He nodded at Jake who rolled the car onto the road as Riley waved at Kayla.

Damon has to attend some business meetings in the city. She knows he works from home, back at the cottage he had a whole study and in the packhouse, he has his own office. He has told her about his chain of hotels and stuff and after that war thing, a lot of work has piled over and for that, he has to attend these meetings and solve all the issues.
