Arthur sneered, his gaze fixed on the alpha who had spoken. The man didn’t even have the backbone to look at him directly after he’d said it.
“I suppose you’re talking about me, right?” Arthur curled his lips in disgust. “I’m not a cowardly weakling like you who won’t even offer aid to the people who make sure his pack sleeps well at night, but I’m not a god either.”
The man flinched.
“And I don’t care about anything but that bastard, Owen.” Arthur thought back to him. “I have a score to settle with him. What happens the rest of it is up to you all to figure out.”

Rex called the patrol members to the training ground the next day with a solemn air."Good to see most of you up and running again. Good hustle last night," Rex said. "Just in case the rogues manage to slip through some time in the future, I'm having the patrol make a trip to the nearby river to start building an emergency water supply."Blade nodded, "The injured will stay behind."Mile huffed, "No way am I getting left behind!"Blade eyed him carefully before shaking his head. The first thing she realized was that her head hurt and her body ached. Daphne opened her eyes to find the world sort of blurry before her memories came to her.The attack. Owen’s chuckling. Owen had closed the door behind him when he left with a soft clinking sound. She thought it was him locking it, but there was the smallest sliver of light coming from the doorway. She drew closer and found the door was slightly ajar. It wasn’t a lot, but it was enough to give her hope.
