View MoreThe first thing Elena felt was cold.
Then pain. She felt a huge headache, feeling as if her head would fall off. She slowly opened her eyes. What greeted her was an empty and dark place. The room was illuminated by the small bulb at the ceiling. The air was moist and mouldy, the taste almost made her gag. She winces in pain as her muscles ache. She tried to sit up, but noticed two huge chains binding her hands. “Where am I?” She asked herself her gaze darting around trying to recall how she got into this trouble. This place felt like an underground dungeon. The last thing she remembered was getting a mission to steal a precious item and kill someone, then… something struck her head and darkness. She tried to free herself from the chains, but couldn't. After some time she gave up. The door creaked open, interrupting her thoughts. She tilted her head to the direction. The sound of unhurried footsteps approached her. She flinched as her heartbeat quickened. Waiting for the person, her fate unknown. The person stepped into the light, revealing his handsome physique. His body seems to merge with the darkness, wearing a black shirt and trouser. Revealing his broad shoulder and lean body. Her body stiffen as she met his cold gaze. She felt chills run down her spine. His grey eyes were sharp, seeing through her soul. “Seems my trap caught a big prey,” He said in a deep magnetic voice. A wave of humiliation washed over Elena as she glared at him. “Who are you?” Elena asked, she tried to stand up but the heavy chains brought her to her knees. “You wanted to kill me, and You don't even know who I am. Pathetic,” He scoffed. His voice filled with disdain. This was the person she was told to kill, but she has very little information about him. She wanted to kill him but was captured by him. How ironic. “If you know what's best for you, you better release me now or you wouldn't even know how you die,” Elena threatened. The man's expression darkened. He walked closer to her, lifting her chin making her look him in the eyes. Elena's heart skipped a bit. Time seemed to pause at that moment. Up close, she could see his handsome face and sharp jawline. “I am the one who usually does the threatening,” He said, snapping her back to reality. “You are just a helpless fly who can do nothing,” He added. His words infuriated her, but he was right. “You don't know who I am. Free me now and let's see if you can last a minute,” Elena said. “I know who you are, Elena Maxwell. An assassin under the Red light organisation. Wanted by 15 countries,” He said, his expression not changing as if her background was nothing special. Her expression stiffened slightly but she quickly recovered from her trance. “Since you know who I am, you better release me. And if you think I am going to confess anything, you better kill me now,” Elena said. “If I want answers from you, you would be screaming already,” He said standing up and heading to the door. “Wait, you can't leave me here,” Elena called after him, stopping him. He paused, then turned to face her. “Anything else?” He asked. Her jaws clenched tightly, as she squeeze her hands into a fist. “If I get out of here, I will make sure to kill you,” Elena yelled furiously. “Okay, then I must make sure you don't,” He said as he left, closing the door. “Mate,” Kael muttered, his eyes turning red. He feels his wolf restlessness, trying to take over. “Stop it,” Kael hissed, taking a deep breath to cool himself before heading upstairs. “Master Kael,” James called out. Kael nodded silently, his expression unreadable. “The woman, she is still there. Do you want me to clean it up as usual– kill her,” “No! Don't ever go there,” Kael snapped. James’ body trembled by his outburst. “Yes sir. Do you need anything else?” James said, looking down. “Get out of my sight,” Kael said sitting on the couch. “Yes… sir,” James stammered as he hurriedly left. Kaem closed his eyes, trying to cool down. Hus wolf was restless, urging him to claim her. Meanwhile, Back in the dungeon, Elena's hands shook. The space around her seemed to tighten and the darkness wanted to swallow her. “Noo… I am not there,” She said with a shaky voice. Memories of that day replayed in her mind. She was suffocating and couldn't breathe. Flashes of her childhood where she gets locked up replayed in her mind. “Noo… stop,” She yelled, pinching herself to remain conscious. Kael, who had just left, had an uneasy feeling. As if his body was being controlled he rushed down to the dungeon. Opening the door, he saw her on the floor. As he reached out to touch her, her body trembled. “Don't… Don't hurt me,” She said while unconscious. “A traumatized assassin. How laughable,” Kael thought. Her face was pale and her body was limp. He opened the chains and carried her in his arms. Her body temperature was high, and her skin seemed to be on fire. Kael brows furrowed. He kicked open his bedroom door still carrying her. He gently laid her on the bed. He was about to leave when her arms shot up. With force, her hands wrapped around his neck as she pulled him close to her. Kael froze mid air, confusion written over his face. Before he could react, she buried her face in his neck. He didn't move, her arms cling to him like a life line. “M-Mate,” She muttered her voice barely about a whisper with her eyes tightly closed. She lay on the bed, burying her head in the pillow. For some reason, she felt angry. Feeling the urge to rush there and slap him. This wasn't her first time walking in a situation like this. But why does she care? He was her enemy and nothing more. Meanwhile in Kael’s room. “Stop,” Kael the woman screamed, her voice dry. Kael pulled out of her. She collapsed on his chest. “Did something happen? You suddenly became rough,” She asked. “Go and clean up,” Kael ordered.“Why don't we clean up together?” She asked, meeting his gaze. “Never mind,” She said, rushing to the bathroom and leaving Kael alone. When she came back, he didn't say anything, just entered the bathroom. Switching on the cold shower. Her face keeps popping up in his mind. He hissed in frustration as he walked out, wearing a towel around his waist leaving his upper body bare. “Alexia,” he called while sitting on the bed. “Yes,” she answered. “Come,” Kael gestured with his hands. She went on all fours, crawl
"Bullshit,” Elena yelled, standing up so fast that the chair scraped against the ground. She stared at him, her gaze mixed with disgust and anger. “Mr, kidnapping me here isn't enough. You are even trying to feed me this lie. Werewolves?” She scoffed, rolling her eyes. Kael’s brows furrowed as he stared at her. “At least you have done your assignment pretty well knowing many things about me. But don't think I am stupid trying to fool me with these fantasy nonsense,” She said. “Suit yourself,” Kael said standing up. “Stop, if you know this much about me. Shouldn't I at least know one thing about you?” She asked not meeting his gaze.He didn't reply immediately, letting the silence stretch. “What do you want to know?” Kael asked at last with a low voice. “You can at least tell me your name,” She said folding her hands “Kael,” He said simply before walking away. At the garage, James was already waiting for him beside a black SUV jeep. As he got closer, James opened the car doo
'You can use the bathroom to clean up. I will be waiting downstairs,” Kael said, leaving her alone and walking out. He walked down to the living room where James was already waiting for him. He sat down rubbing his temples.“Sir, you brought the woman to your room yesterday. She is dangerous,” James said out of concern. “Don't meddle with my business,” Kael growled. “Any news?” He asked, closing his eyes. “Nothing much, the deal is closed. All that remains now is your final signature,” James said.“Next 3 days, you have a meeting in the Moon hall,” James added. “Isn't the next three days the full moon?” Kael asked, his eyes fully open. “Yes, is something the matter?” James asked. Kael fell into deep thought, not responding to his question. “If it is about you not finding your Luna. Most of the pack knows not to bother you about it,” James said. It's not that I have found her,” Kael said. “But, there is a problem,” Kael said, sighing. Meanwhile Elena just finished bathing.
*Crash*The sound of glass shattering echoed in the room. “Where is she?” A deep voice asked coldly. In the dark room, a man in his mid fifties sat on a chair, a cigar dangling on his lips. His gaze was sharp and piercing. “She hasn't come back since she went on the mission master Grey,” A shaky voice of a young man responded. Sebastian Miller, who is the head of the red light district, an underground assassination empire and the adoptive father of Elena. His gaze froze and the next instantly replaced by rage. “What happened to her?” Sebastian demanded. “We don't know, we have tried to reach her,” The man said. “It's been more than a day, this isn't normal Steven,” He said a thought creeping into his heart. He was the one that sent her on the mission himself. He knew how dangerous the man was. If Elena hasn't returned, it only means one thing. She has been captured. “I will mobilize everyone. We will get her back,” Steven said, already heading to the door. Sebastian had a
