LYDIA’S POV

‘Stop! Stop the meeting!” I panted. Out of breath from running for so long.

“What are you doing here?” Freya sneered. Why was she even in the meeting?

“Lydia?” Darwin asked in confusion as he stood to his feet.

I turned to Darwin and pointed a finger at Wallace.

“He’s a fraud. He doesn’t have the life elixir or even know a thing about it. End this sham of a meeting now Darwin, before you get duped,”

Wallace’s face turned red, as be spluttered angrily.

“Who are you?” Wallace hissed in annoyance. “Guards! Remove this gremlin from here!”

A shadow crossed Darwin’s face as he stalked over to me.

“That’s my bride Wallace. Watch your tongue or you won’t have one anymore,”

Relief filled me. He believed me!

As Darwin got to me, I launched myself at him and hugged him tightly.

“Wait, Lydia. Can you please explain?” Darwin asked as he held my arms gently and moved me back so he could look in my face.

“Wallace is a fraud. He doesn’t have the elixir of life NO one does,”
