I couldn't fall asleep with so many thoughts running through my head, so I picked up the phone and started scrolling through the saved contacts. To my surprise, Cora's name was there, and beside it were the letters BFF in brackets.

Awww.

Orion really had a talent for making me hope for things I shouldn't.

I tapped her number, and after only two rings she answered.

“Ravencrest Interiors, Cora speaking.”

Just hearing her soft, familiar voice instantly made me feel better.

“Cora, it's Aria.”

  • The Rogue Omega   Chapter 39

Orion’s POVMy wolf let out a soft whine inside my head while I mentally tore myself apart. I'd been trying hard to take things slowly with Aria. She was as nervous around us as a rabbit catching the scent of a predator. But all it took was one moment... hearing her shaky breaths and quiet little sounds... and smelling that sweet scent of her arousal... and every bit of common sense disappeared from my head.I'd actually had my hand on her bathroom door, ready to storm in and claim my omega. It took every ounce of control I had not to do it.Then she'd walked out of the bathroom glowing from the hot water, wearing nothing except a towel between us.Seriously... fuck towels.Who even came up with those things? It should've been my tongue tracing every drop of water from her smooth skin. I should've been following every freckle scattered across her body...I was completely gone for that woman.I didn't care what I had to do. I was going to win my omega's heart.Because the thought of he

Orion swung his legs off the side of the bed and stood up. Right away, my eyes dropped to his gray sweatpants. Or, more specifically... to the very obvious outline of his huge erection beneath them.Oh wow.I quickly looked away, but unless someone hit me in the head hard enough to erase my memory, there was no chance I was ever forgetting what I'd just seen.He moved toward me slowly, and I pulled my towel tighter where it was wrapped around my body, already expecting him to touch me.Orion took my hand and lifted it to his nose. He breathed in deeply, then let out a rough groan.“What were you doing in the shower, pretty girl?” he asked quietly. “This whole room smells like a candy factory.”At that moment, I understood why he seemed so tense. I understood why his beast was showing in his eyes.He had heard me touching myself in the shower. He had smelled my arousal. It wasn't like I hadn't been turned on around them before... but tonight had been different. Tonight, I'd taken mysel

The shifter staggered in the doorway, and the strong scent of whiskey mixed with flowers hit me immediately, making my nose itch.“What are you doing, Cole?” Orion jumped to his feet and instantly placed himself between me and the heavily drunk alpha.I leaned slightly to the side, trying to see around him. There was no way I could leave with Cole blocking the doorway anyway. Orion stayed in a protective stance, but shifted just enough that I could finally get a clear look at the last alpha in my scent match.I clenched my jaw.The bear might've been completely wasted, but he was still ruggedly handsome. He had that outdoorsman look... like a man who belonged deep in the forest. At this point, though, I wasn't even surprised anymore. Fate apparently had a twisted sense of humor and a thing for ridiculously attractive alphas.Cole dragged a hand through his thick chestnut hair. It was longer than the others', hanging down near his jaw. His skin was light brown, and a short dark beard o

Ryker's jaw tightened slightly, but he didn't comment on my distraction or the fact that I seemed incapable of doing anything gracefully.“Work,” he repeated. “Do you think you can start tomorrow?”“Yes!” I answered a little too loudly, bending down to lick a few drops of spilled wine from my hand. “I can start whenever you need me.”The silence that followed made me look up.Both alphas were staring at me.Their dominance suddenly filled the room, thick and heavy. As nervousness and unwanted attraction twisted together in my stomach, I realized exactly what had caused it.Licking the wine from my hand.Damn alcohol.Carefully, I set my glass back on the table and tried to calm things down.“I mean... I'm ready to start working, and I'm available every day.”Orion recovered first and shook his head.“Not Sunday. I want her at the racetrack, and then we've got a family bonfire night.”A deep rumble rolled from Ryker's chest. He still hadn't taken his eyes off me, but at least he answer

A few minutes later, Ryker walked into the dining room looking just as neat and put together as he had that morning. The only difference was that he looked exhausted. “Sorry,” he said. “A small disaster happened right before I left the office, but we managed to fix it.”He rubbed a tired hand across his face, and that's when I noticed the white bandage on top of his hand. It stood out sharply against his olive skin. Most injuries healed quickly for an alpha, so seeing him hurt instantly irritated me. I almost asked what had happened... then reminded myself it wasn't any of my business.Another question to add to the endless list already spinning around inside my head.Ryker slipped off his navy suit jacket, and Florence appeared immediately to take it from him before he even asked. Once seated, I noticed the slightly messy strands of dark hair falling around his face, like he'd been running his fingers through it all day. Then he loosened his tie, removed his cufflinks, and rolled up

I was just thinking about you. How's your first day at Blackthorn Pack house going?”“Honestly, it's been pretty great. They've mostly left me alone, I've been swimming, and I've eaten a ridiculous amount of amazing food. It's basically a free vacation.”Cora let out a light laugh.“Our next girls' night has to be there. I've always wanted to see inside that place. Nobody gets invited unless they're family... or close famil
