I was just surviving at this point. Not that I really wanted to or had any control over it. I wanted nothing more than just to die. But every time I tried I was brought right back by my mother or Celeste. Those women saved me, but they also cursed me to relive every night of my horror.

Every night I closed my eyes I could see and hear the other women screaming and the smacking of groins to asses. The putrid smell would always come back to me and make me want to vomit. Yet the worst was the sounds of babies crying. On the bad nights, I could hear the babies crying from being born. While the mother screams for her baby being born. On the worst of nights, it was my baby being ripped from my grasp as I had given birth early and was still in my cell. When they came to my cell I had already begun to nurse my sweet baby girl.
