Kayah’s Point of View

Once again I hid behind my hair, not ready to discuss what the moon Goddess wanted. Of all the changes that had intruded on me, being nicknamed as the daughter of the moon was the most frightening.

"I can understand her need to protect her children, I have the same need, as do all mothers." My mate's mother continued.

Here we go, I thought to myself as I raised my head to meet the Luna's eyes, the brush off I had been waiting for. The high blood had been known to choose death for the maintenance of their pride. Lunar was going to destroy the packs but my conscience would be clear.

"As a mother, I have tried to lessen the burdens my children were born with. Many people do not realize the hardship that comes with being a child of the alpha blood." The Luna paused, her eyes pleading for understanding, freezing me to my spot. "Unlike you, Axel has been waiting for his mate. And now that you’re here. With what you have been through your mating will be difficult. A

Kayah’s Point of ViewTogether with Lisa and Sheila, we set our journey early in the morning. Lisa allowed me to ride on her back since she was larger than a horse. I often wonder if she has an Alpha blood or she was just larger than most she-wolves. The weather was harsh. It was snowing heavily as we climbed the tallest mountain. It wasn’t called a snow mountain if the snow blizzard was missing. There was almost zero visibility, but Lisa’s trained eyes knew the way. This place isn't normal. It was like the snow was concealing whoever was on the top of the mountain, away from prying eyes. We travelled for two days before finally reaching the top. There was a woman already waiting for us. The strange thing was that on the top of the mountain, it wasn’t even snowing. It was like normal weather and warm. I was expecting a white carpet of snow around but there weren’t any. “Welcome to Snow Mountain Peak. The car has been waiting for you, dear guests,” the woman greeted. Even though I w

Kayah's Point of View“I’ll take her from here, Roka,” Kiba said, smiling at me. “Let's get you settled into your room.”The place was like a maze, but I knew that in part it took so long because of the difficulty I had walking since the energy was still clinging on me.Once up the top, we passed an open living area like on the ground level, before passing a few doors I didn't have the energy to be curious about. Knowing exactly, I followed Kiba to a maze-like hallway. It was strange but I kept to myself.Without warning we reached a large oak door. "This is your room... I hope it is to your liking.”"Thank you, Kiba."Upon stepping inside I was overwhelmed... A haven of beauty unfolded before my vision. A king size bed was in the middle of the room, covered in white bedding and throw pillows against a beige feature wall. Two timber bedside tables were on either side of the bed, the lamps on each casting a dim light across the floor.Opposite the bed was an open door to an en-suite b

“How could you betray me!” A voice coming from the black puddle screamed in agony and in anger. I am your mother! I created you as a special wolf and gifted you an ability! How could you!“Enough mother, your wickedness knows no bounderies. Leave us alone. Don’t interfere with our life!”“No! Never! You shall all feel my wrath! Your betrayal has already carve into my vrry soul! Let’s see how long will you protect that girl. She’ll die before Fenrir could even do anything!” And with that, the black puddle vanished. The pool returned to its original colorless.Caspian sighed while I become confused because in my mind the thing that clouded my mind vanished. My wolf finally howl in joy. I felt some the shackle that restricking her vanished.“What happened,” I asked them, mainly Caspian.“You were under Lunar’s power. I supposed she already talk to you during your stay at Axel’s pack.” Caspian said.“She did. She said I was the child of the moon and that I’ll be safe within Axel pack bec

“Of course you wouldn’t know me. We’re twins. You were blessed and I was cursed. You were the one that our parents loved the most even though you disappeared one night and you know the worst part? I love Seven. He was supposed to be mine but then I learned that he only wants me because he thought I was the healer and you who pretend to be me had all his attention and he even got you pregnant. Everything you have should be mine.” She answered, hitting me right through my heart. I was hurt because I finally learned I have a sister but it turned out that she wanted me to die. But I wouldn’t want the monster to feel happy if I die.“Really? Did you ever think about what I went through? Or did you ever care to try and look for me? No. You wanted to be the one our parents loved. You knew I was in pain everyday and yet you envied me? You’re a pathetic sister. You sided the evil for a taste of power and here I thought you died it turned out you were using someone else's face. We’re even becau

When I looked at the woman sitting on the throne, she was a proud woman with menacing eyes, something I didn’t recognize when she first talked to me. Her shoulders were slender, filled with golds and gems that couldn’t be found in this world. Her aura oozed with power. She was too beautiful and if she was like me, alphas from all over the world would come and ask for her hand. I expected that she was a woman with a wisdom and a loving mother but she’s not.A judge with fur looked at the man in front of him, chained just like me. He was looking Caspian in familiarity with a sympathetic look. "Can you confirm that you were the old Caspian who the other Judge described?" He questioned. "Yes I am." He said."How would you describe your relationship with the Goddess?" He questioned again.Caspian's face showed a proud smile. "I had served her with all my heart. But I lost hope when she decided to start something that was long buried in our memories. I respected her, yes, but she’s no

As their master’s last request from them was to help me escape. Both of them were bleeding furiously. I wanted to help them but declined my offer. “Use your strength to go back to the Rogue King as soon as possible before they find you,” Roka told me. “Now hurry, leave us. The wolves might have smelled our blood. You need to leave before they arrive,” Kiba added. “Remember, do not come back to Axel’s pack. The only one who can save you is the Rogue King.” That was a few days ago. I’m not sure if they survive but I wish the enemies didn’t find them. I didn’t have any choice but to leave or I'd die and their sacrifice would be in vain. Even though I used to have a compa

The grey wolf’s chest was moving at a rapid pace as he stared down at the dead body. The way he was looking at it made my own body tremble. It wasn’t the look of surprise or horror like a new pup would have, but one of someone that had killed before. He looked proud. He turned his cold yellow eyes to me and I froze. Why had I insisted on watching this fight? Why hadn’t I ran when I had the chance? The air around us grew dense until it became hard for me to breathe. Was it my turn to die?He stared at me for a moment longer as if he was secretively throwing the fact that he had just killed in my face. Just when I thought he was finally going to snap and turn on me he did something completely unexpected. He turned around and walked away.At first all I could do was stare mindlessly back at his retreating hide thinking that maybe it was just a trick, that there was no way a killer wolf like him would leave an easy kill like me to just live! Then the grey wolf disappeared into the brush t

Kayah’s Point of ViewNo, there’s something wrong. Seven should recognize me but why does he act like he never knew me and even knew me?“That’s because the power of the ring hasn’t worn off yet. He couldn’t recognize us yet,” told me warily. Hesitantly, I rubbed my muzzle under his chin. The feeling of his skin touching my fur made me feel all tingly inside and when he lightly touched his hand to the side of my head the feeling spread. He pushed me away forcefully and stared sternly into my eyes.“Will you stop that?” His eyes flickered into something heated. Was he angry? “Just because I protected you from that other wolf doesn’t mean that I need to be thanked, so you can just take your cuddling to someone else.”Embarrassed by his comment I averted my eyes and looked down at the ground. Truthfully the thought of thanking him hadn’t even crossed my mind and now that he mentioned it I felt slightly ashamed. How rude I must seem to not have thanked him for saving my life. Instead I h

Kayah’s Point of viewSilence…For the past few days, no one had bothered me, including Axel. I hate it. I never liked silence. Not this kind of silence, thick, watching, heavy with a weight I couldn’t shake off no matter how fast I paced. My bare feet moved restlessly across the cold stone floor, the hem of my dress dragging like a ghost behind me. I’d worn this same linen for three days. Ever since Axel bought me. Luis handed me over like I was a bottle of wine, aged and ready to be uncorked for someone else’s pleasure. I knew he did it because he despised Seven so much. Maybe this was his revenge for whatever feud they had once. I begged him. I cried but none of it mattered. Luis didn’t care. Now, the time was already ticking. In a few days, I’ll be marrying him and crowned to be a Queen. The bastard couldn't even identify a willing mate and not. I tried not to care but every time Axel barged into my door, I felt like he'd do anything to me. Just thinking his name made my skin c

Seven’s Point of ViewFear kicked sense back into me and I turned on my heels and ran. I didn't know who that was, but they didn't look friendly. I strained my ears for some sort of indication that they were following me, but got none. I didn’t run away because I was afraid. I’m still weak and couldn’t fight. I’m not even sure what kind of creatures live in this kind of dense forest. I looked over my shoulder to double check and saw the figure calmly walking in my direction from across the stream. I cursed myself again and again for being so stupid as I ran further away. Sure, I know vampires do exist but living in a forest? Not exactly the kind of vampire I was thinking of. They were unbelievably fast, had heightened senses, and a craving for blood. I could have a chance but given my situation. I’m no match.Once I couldn't run any further, I ducked behind a tree and tried to catch my breath. The figure had just been walking, so I figured I had some sort of a lead. I knew I couldn't

We found shelter in the ruins of an abandoned outpost, deep in the Blightpine forest. It was old, warded and made for rogues before I was ever king. I thought we could regroup there. I thought they would understand. Luis didn’t.He was the first friend I ever had. My brother in battle. My second when I took the title of King.He was also the one who threw the first punch.“You ran,” he growled, shoving me against the cold stone wall. “You left us, Seven!”“I saved you,” I spat back. “Do you think any of us would’ve survived against that magic?”“Because of you,” he hissed, “we had to survive it. You brought her here. You lied about her, about Kayah. You turned us into bait for your obsession.”The others were watching. Bleeding. Listening. They were angry. And I was outnumbered.“No one forced you to follow me,” I said, low, eyes flashing. “You stood with me because you believed in this brotherhood. Don’t forget that.”Luis didn’t flinch. “We believed in you. And now every wolf we love

Seven’s Point of View The court had lost its authority after I killed my corrupt father. None of those candidates as elders made me appoint them. I knew they would betray me. And that their loyalty remains to the main family. The previous elders had lied. They made me choose Sabrina as my wife. They said it’ll strengthen me, and maybe help me with my curse. Sabrina was nothing but a pawn. I thank Fenrir for guiding me, I got Kayajh instead. She wasn’t the chosen Luna for politics and power but she was something else entirely; she had a heart. She treated everyone with kindness. And Fenrir help me, I had started to care. Now, I’m more than relieved that she’s not here, otherwise I’ll be distracted. I told myself it didn’t matter that I’ll find her soon. I buried myself in preparing for war. Because I knew it would come. When someone runs, someone else always follows. And when bloodlines are involved, so is power. Ilyas wouldn't pass up the opportunity to strike. My half-brother had

  • The Rogue's Little Mate   Chapter 161: The Attack on Rogues

Seven’s Point of ViewI felt it the moment she crossed the border. The tether between us snapped taut, too tight, too strained. A part of me flared in panic, my wolf was rising just beneath my skin. I should have established our bond before she left. Stupid of me. “She ran away, what are you going to do about it?” Luis, my best friend asked me. “You didn’t tell her about Hailey, didn’t you?” he said, eyes strained on me. “She doesn’t need to know,” I replied as I sat on my throne. “There are more important things I need to solve than telling her about Hailey.” I noticed Luis' eyes flickered with something. I knew what it was and I chose to ignore it. “Have you tracked her?” I said, changing the subject. Luis heaved a sigh. “Nope. We found her trail one mile east but when she crossed the other border, we lost track of her,” he said. “As if she just vanished.”I nodded. Of course, Kayah probably knew I'd hunt her down after she was exposed. I said, sighing. “Thanks for the repo

Axel made sure I couldn’t say no. He made sure that he’s in control, especially when he inflicted this wound on me, weakening my wolf so that I couldn’t protest. I couldn’t feel my hands anymore.Everything burned. Then it went cold. Then back to burning. The silver and wolfsbane were messing with my body so bad I didn’t even know if I was still breathing right. My wolf was fading fast. I could barely feel her.Suddenly, the door slammed open.I didn’t have to guess who it was. The energy in the room changed. It got heavy, tense. Angry. And very Axel.He stormed in like he owned the place. The nurses tried to stop him, but he growled, and they backed off. He came straight to me, like nothing else mattered.“Oh, hell, Kayah…” His voice cracked when he saw me. I hated that sound. Like I was already gone.He grabbed my face, his hands warm and rough. I wanted to push him away, but I couldn’t even lift a finger.“You’re dying,” he said.Yeah. I knew.“I can stop it,” he said, eyes glowin

The hospital room was too quiet. The only sound was the soft beeping of the machine beside me and the slow ticking of the clock on the wall. I couldn’t move much. My chest was still aching badly. Every breath felt like it might tear me open again.I lay still, watching the ceiling, trying not to think. Then I heard the door open.My hands tightened under the blanket as I smelled who it was. Axel. He walked in, pushing a cart of food. His footsteps were calm, too calm for my liking. I didn’t dare look at him right away. I stared at the wall instead. My heart was beating faster. I didn’t know if he was angry. I didn’t know if he was going to yell. Or worse.“You’re awake,” he said, his voice quiet but firm.I nodded a little. My throat felt dry.He moved the cart closer and uncovered the plates. Warm steam rose into the air. It smelled like soup and bread. I haven't eaten since... I couldn’t remember. But the sight of food didn’t comfort me.“You need to eat,” he said. “Your wound won’

The next few scenes were me being punched, kicked and slapped to almost make me pass out. My throat was already hurting due to the constant scream of vegging and leaving me alone. My chest started to bleed again and it stained the oversized white shirt Axel had given me. My screams were now replaced with loud sobs that made my lungs ache. I looked up in fear as the unknown man advanced towards me. He took a deep breath through his nose, and a wide smile spread across his face. Slowly, he walked towards me with deliberate and smooth steps. With each step he took, the malicious grin on his face got wider. I had scooted myself into a corner to try and escape his gaze and ferocity, and as he came to stand in front of me I tried pleading once more. "Please. I am begging you. Just leave me alone. You don't have to do this!" My words came out as sobs. "Shut up! You’re just a slave! You do not talk to me like that!" With another deep breath through his nose, he crouched down next to me a

I woke up to sunlight shining in my face, and the sound of a girl screaming. The sound was excruciatingly loud and sent chills up my spine. Above the screaming, I could hear Axel’s voice shouting. I couldn't make out the words, but he sounded furious and excited. The screaming continued for about another minute, until it slowly died down. The entire time this was happening, I sat cowering in the corner of my room, fearing I would be next to be screaming like that. But I made my decisions…to play safe..After what seemed like an eternity, I heard a door slam and footsteps coming my way. I cringed back in fear and huddled against the wall. The freshly stitched wounds on my chest reminded me of Axel’s brutality, and I didn't want to see what he was like when he was mad. My door was pushed open to reveal-of course- an infuriated Axel. He looked at my small frame huddled in the corner farthest from him, and smiled. I felt no comfort from his expression, only more fear. He stepped forward
